SLAM!
"Taehyun, are you crazy?!" Huening Kai immediately said, grabbing onto the pinkette's arm the moment they entered his room where they could have some privacy. "Why would you break up with Beomgyu hyung? So suddenly too!"
Taehyun's eye twitched as his whole body began to fill with irritation, but not only at Huening Kai. He was irritated with himself as well.
"I already told you," Taehyun replied calmly... somewhat, pulling his arm out of the males hold as he walked away and over towards his desk. "It just..I...it..."
Taehyun paused mid sentence, stumbling over his words as he tried to think about what excuse will come out of his mouth this time, he's had multiple people come up to him during the school day asking what the reason was for their sudden split.
Each time, he would answer with the same response worded differently.
"It just happened okay? I lost... all feelings for him."
Huening Kai couldn't help but scoff loudly at what Taehyun said, he's been constantly trying to get the real answer out of the male ever since he had announced the break up, he knew it was unlikely for Taehyun to suddenly leave someone for no reason.
Even though he was slightly uncomfortable by how nosy he was being, Huening Kai wanted to find the truth.
"Taehyun, be honest," Huening Kai walked over to him and gently placed a hand on the males shoulder for comfort. "You really liked him, he made you happier than ever, why would you break up with him when your relationship was so... perfect?"
Taehyun's breath hitched at the word 'perfect', a word that he began to hate even more after meeting Beomgyu.
"I..." He was hesitant, he didn't want to lie to his best friend, but he knew he had no other excuse left.
He never wanted to leave Beomgyu.
But it was suffocating him... the both of them.
Glancing down at his desk, he immediately looked at a paper near him, a sketch he had made not too long ago.
A sketch of none other than Beomgyu.
"Because..." Taehyun breathed out, his body easing as his heart began to drop down to his stomach, pain blooming in his heart as he looked over at his best friend.
"I hurt him, Huening Kai."

"Are you sure you're okay?" Yeonjun asked the male the moment their first break started, ever since the event yesterday, he's been worried about Beomgyu ever since. "It was out of no where, and it happened after he ignored your texts too? Are you sure you're fine?"
Beomgyu sighed exhausted my for the eighth time, rubbing his eyes to get that stinging pain away. Ever since last night, he had practically sobbed himself to sleep, unfortunately waking up with puffy red eyes in the morning which made him look sick as fuck.
"I told you, I'm fine, it doesn't hurt." Beomgyu mumbled softly, trying to convince himself and Yeonjun. "It was... normal! You know, break ups are normal, It was about time we let go."
"You were the happiest around him though," Yeonjun grabbed onto him, lifting him up as he looked over at Taehyun who seemed to be in a one sided conversation with Huening Kai. "I'm sure he was the happiest around you as well, now look at you two... all sullen and upset, he's even more quieter than usual... which sorta is a good thing—"
"Yeonjun."
"Sorry! Sorry," He raised his hands, his apology coming out more sarcastic than sincere. "It just... it makes me feel sad, you two were so happy, what went wrong?"
Beomgyu nibbled on the bottom of his lip anxiously, he couldn't just up and tell Yeonjun that the real reason they broke up was because it was an entire act and that their relationship wasn't real at all, because he had stupidly made a deal with the pinkette that as soon as Yeonjun and Soobin started dating they would...
"It just happened..."
Yeonjun frowned slightly, unsatisfied at all with this sudden break up, which Beomgyu completely understood why he would be dissatisfied. Everything's seemed fine for the past weeks, there weren't any signs of anything bad between them, but all of a sudden one day later they come out as over?
"Don't tell me he broke up with you." He gasped loudly, his eyes widening as he started to realize that it was a possibility.
Beomgyu just smiled awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. That technically was the answer, right? Taehyun had been the first to cut the act off, so that means he broke up with him?
man this sucks.
"Yeah...I guess so, somewhat like that.."
"Are you serious?!"
Beomgyu immediately tuned out Yeonjun's reaction and complaining, staring into space as he thought about it. Was it really his fault that Taehyun broke up with him? The male did say he wanted to end the act, maybe he just got tired of constantly having to deal with it.
It just felt so weird... they were... no issues between them.
But Beomgyu knew he couldn't continue to live in the lies he surrounded his once perfect life with, he couldn't do that to Yeonjun.
"Tell me, Beomgyu," Yeonjun spoke up, instantly snapping the male back to reality after being lost in his own thoughts. "Did you really like him? You're actually hurt about this?"
Beomgyu stared at the elder in shock, taken aback by the sudden question, had he not made it obvious that he was genuinely upset about everything? Maybe Yeonjun still had some doubt in the back of his mind, doubt that he didn't really love Taehyun.
"I..." Beomgyu croaked softly. "I miss him every hour, despite it being one day it already feels like I lost him for eternity, I... really really did like Kang Taehyun." He admitted softly, his emotions pouring out like a tidal wave, crashing down on him with so much pressure he could barely breathe.
"Okay, Okay, calm down," Yeonjun said, grabbing the male by the shoulders gently and sat next to him. "I know, you really did like him, and I'm so sorry that his annoying ass broke up with you, you deserve so much better."
I deserve him, this wasn't meant to happen. Beomgyu looked away and nodded, his expression blank as he thought about the events from the day before.
There weren't any signs, barely any emotions or anything to showcase that Taehyun had thought about ending the act... but had he read it all wrong? Were those kind gestures the male made towards him just final gestures he wanted to do before he left him?
It really did hurt.
"Thank you for comforting me, hyung," Beomgyu spoke up as he turned his head to face Yeonjun with a warm smile. "I feel better about myself now."
"You're welcome, anything for you."
Beomgyu sat there silently, deep in thought. He still felt guilty about how he lied about the whole thing, he really should've told Yeonjun the truth sooner before falling down the deep rabbit hole, but he knew it was nearly too late now...
Looking over at his best friend, all he felt was the pent up guilt and sadness, he never intended to feel guilty... it wasn't a bad thing, he had no bad intentions. He just wanted to be happy, he wanted Yeonjun to be happy, he knew he never deserved Soobin... so why did it still hurt?
Maybe because he's drowning in guilt...
"Yeonjun..."
"You know," Yeonjun suddenly interrupted him, not realizing that the younger had called out his name. "I'm just happy you didn't lie to me, about not liking Soobin? Even though you were fucking weird about it, I'm just glad you didn't force yourself to lose feelings because of me..."
"Because if you did..." Yeonjun leaned back in his seat, staring at Beomgyu with an intimidating look. "...I would've been disappointed."
All of a sudden, Beomgyu's thoughts about admitting to his lies and false love act with Taehyun vanished within that minute, causing the males breath to hitch as he stared at Yeonjun with widened eyes, his heart dropping all the way down to his ass.
Just hearing the word disappointed made him sick to the stomach, but hearing his best friend say that specific word, it made his heart ache so bad.
All of his confidence on telling Yeonjun about the truth, the real truth, vanished. He didn't want to face the horrifying reality and disappointment from his best friend, someone he cared for so deeply.
No matter what, even despite his breaking heart, he stayed silent.
He would admit the truth, later.
ʚ♡ɞ
Beomgyu couldn't help but feel distracted the entire day.
Most likely for the same reason.
It was honestly hard for him to just go up to Taehyun and talk to the male, ever since the split had happened the two of them barely talked or even ran into each other.
But thank god for the angel, Huening Kai.
When Beomgyu would run into Huening Kai during breaks or lunch, the younger would give him updates on how Taehyun was doing, it was safe to say the both of them really weren't handling this well.
We weren't even a real couple... Beomgyu frowned, doodling random shapes onto his paper. But that doesn't change how much I miss him.
"Beomgyu!"
The male looked up from his seat and over towards his side, making eye contact with none other than Seong-jin who seemed to be very happy to talk to him, but he did find it a bit weird how everytime he came up to him, his two friends were somewhere far away.
But nonetheless, he decided to stay nice to a dear friend. "Hello, Seong-jin. What can I help you with?"
"You don't have to be all formal with me," The male smiled slightly, standing in front of Beomgyu's desk so he could get a better view of him. "I just wanted to come over and check on you, a friend checking on a friend."
Beomgyu couldn't help but smile softly, he never understood why Yeonjun and Taehyun deeply disliked Seong-jin, the thing that happened at the lunch room wasn't his fault at all. He understood the struggles of having a crush on someone, he was just glad the male didn't hold a grudge on Yeonjun.
"Don't worry, I've been..." Beomgyu hesitated on his answer, it would be a lie if he said he was fine, when in reality he wasn't. "I'm...fine."
"The breakup must hurt, huh?" Seong-jin sighed softly, pouting so he looked sad for the male. "Kang Taehyun is such an asshole, don't you agree?"
Beomgyu's breath hitched when he heard that sentence coming out at Seong-jin's mouth, looking up at the male with a disgusted shocked expression, he couldn't believe that he had the audacity to call Taehyun an asshole... maybe he was just being protective of him since they were friends but it still managed to pin a sharp needle in his heart.
"No," Beomgyu spoke softly, watching the males snarky smirk slowly fade. "Even if we broke up, he had his reasons... I don't think he's an asshole at all."
Seong-jin's eye twitched in annoyance. "For all we know, he could've broken up with you because he found someone else he liked!—"
"Can you shut up now?"
Both of their heads turned towards the side, seeing Yeonjun standing there with his arms crossed as his expression was fuming with anger, it made Beomgyu slightly panicked knowing that the elder was definitely pissed off.
Seong-jin scoffed loudly, rolling his eyes so hard he was certain they almost popped out of his head. "You just had to interrupt us again didn't you?"
"Of course, you're over here making my best friend uncomfortable and degrading his ex boyfriend, how could I not step in?" Yeonjun said, shrugging his shoulders as he walked towards Beomgyu and grabbed the males by the arm and pulled him up.
"If you excuse us, we'll be leaving! If I stay talking to you i'm certain i'd lose my appetite." Yeonjun smiled, yet it was full of bitterness and sarcasm.
Seong-jin opened his mouth to say something, his eyebrows scrunched in disgust and annoyance as he tried to find any words to say to fire back at Yeonjun, but before he could even say a peep of a word, the elder had already dragged the male out of the classroom.
Beomgyu immediately let out a breath that he barely knew he was holding, all of the uncomfortable feelings that bubbled up in his stomach immediately faded away when he was away from Seong-jin.
"How could you let him talk to you like that?" He heard Yeonjun ask him.
"What?"
"He obviously was trying to push your buttons, bringing up Taehyun? That's an asshole move, barely a day after you two broke up he's trying to start shit." Yeonjun groaned loudly, holding his head as he felt an incoming headache growing.
Beomgyu couldn't help but purse his lips tightly, staring at Yeonjun with a blank expression. He didn't really view it as that, maybe it did come off wrong, but Seong-jin was just being protective even if it was a little bit rude...
but he rather keep his silence and not anger Yeonjun more.
The two of them walked down the hallway silently until they arrived down the club hallway, it made Beomgyu's stomach churn in anxiety knowing that Taehyun was so close yet so far.
It wasn't until Beomgyu had finally come back to his senses, looking away from the art club room, he looked directly in front of him and made eye contact with none other than Kang Taehyun himself who was walking down the hallway with Huening Kai, holding some snacks.
It was like his empty heart had slowly began to beat alive, just seeing the pinkette in front of him made him both so... happy yet... so sick.
what went wrong?
"Just don't look." He heard Yeonjun whisper beside him, he knew it was a warning.
But he couldn't help but have his eyes linger on the male who was so close yet so far, his heart yearning to just have him in his arms again. How could he not look when the person he had desired the most and have been thinking about non stop is only a few feet away from him?
Within a second, the both of them passed by each other like they barely knew each other, it made Beomgyu's stomach hurt knowing that he was the only one looking back.
He couldn't leave him.
He doesn't want to leave him.
he wants Taehyun back.
"I can't."
Beomgyu swiftly turned around and immediately darted after Taehyun and Huening Kai, leaving behind Yeonjun who called after him desperately when he realized what he was doing.
It was like his mind was on autopilot, he had no idea what he was doing but he knew it was right.
The moment he caught up to Taehyun and Huening Kai, the male immediately grabbed onto the pinkettes wrist, starling the male who snapped his head around and looked over at Beomgyu as if he were insane.
"Beomgyu hyung? What are you—"
Before Taehyun could even finish what he was going to say, the male yanked on his wrist and dragged the younger over towards the art room and in the nicest way possible — shoved him in, slamming the door behind them shut.
"What are you doing?!" Taehyun exclaimed, regaining his balance as he nearly stumbled onto his face from the sudden force. "You're acting weird! Why did you—"
"We need to talk." Beomgyu breathlessly said, he was self aware of how rude he was being, but he couldn't help it anymore.
He needed answers.
Walking over towards the windows, he made sure that Yeonjun and Huening Kai were no where near the art room and in ear range, after reassuring himself for a few seconds the male swiftly closed the blinds and turned around, staring at Taehyun with a pitiful frown.
"I..." Taehyun stared at the male, his throat closing up after witnessing how desperate the male looked, he knew it might've been because of the split.
But what could he do? Everything was fake.
Everything but his feelings, and that's the exact reason why he had to leave.
"Taehyun," Beomgyu turned around, slowly walking towards the male as he bit the bottom of his lip to prevent any sudden outbursts. "I..."
Beomgyu couldn't help but just stare at the male in front of him, admiring how beautiful Taehyun was. He had missed him so much even if it's been an entire day, only one day and he already felt like he was going insane.
He wanted to know the real reason, he wanted to know what Taehyun felt.
"Why..." Beomgyu hesitated. "Why did you... end it?"
Taehyun stared at the male with a blank stare, he knew that was the main question Beomgyu would ask. As desperately as he wanted to tell the male the truth, that he had overheard him with Soobin and how he knew he made him miserable.
He didn't want to hurt Beomgyu more.
The walls he slowly let down began to build up, his eyes hardening with a cold stare as he looked away.
"I was sick of it." Taehyun mumbled softly. "Continuing to perform an act that hardly benefited the both of us? It was starting to become annoying."
"What...?" Beomgyu breathlessly said, staring at the male. He hadn't expected that answer at all, let alone the switch of behavior. "Annoying...?"
It was like someone had ripped open his chest and began to prick his heart with thousands of tiny needles, sending waves of pain and discomfort throughout his whole body.
he hated this.
he couldn't help but feel so sick.
taehyun felt this way the entire time?
"But why..." Beomgyu croaked out softly, stepping closer towards the male who stayed in his spot, refusing to look at him. "Why would you agree? This was your idea! You said you wanted to help me, even if it had nothing to do with you... you still wanted to help me so why?!—"
"Because it was annoying, Choi Beomgyu." Taehyun snapped his head forward, his tone dropping as he stared at the male with the most coldest glare ever.
It was like the memories and feelings between them began to crumble back to their original stage, all of the progress they've made began to disappear slowly one by one.
As badly as Beomgyu wanted to speak up and say something, he wanted to reassure Taehyun that what happened didn't have to happen.
but he couldn't, he remained speechless.
"You want to know why?" Taehyun scoffed, irritating growing in his tone. "Because it was fucking sickening watching you act all nice and proud, so I wanted to see how far you would go to make your best friend happy."
Beomgyu's breath began to shorten the more Taehyun spoke, hearing that frightening cold tone used on him made him nothing more but sick.
"I didn't really think you'd actually agree," Taehyun snickered sarcastically, glancing over at the male with a smile that just screamed irritation. "I didn't think you would actually take the time and chance to fool everyone in the school just so you could convince your best friend that you truly didn't like Soobin."
"T-Taehyun!—"
"Well guess what Beomgyu!" Taehyun raised his voice, pushing the male back as he glared at him with full anger. "If it weren't for you and your selfish fucking act, Soobin would've never fallen for Yeonjun! If it weren't for you rejecting him for the sake of your best friends fucking feeling, he would've been dating you!"
"You should've been honest with your feelings from the start, you practically forced Soobin to fall for someone else just so you can allow Yeonjun to be a what..." Taehyun paused before laughing sarcastically. "...A rebound?"
"Taehyun, that's not what I intended!—"
"Face it Beomgyu," Taehyun interrupted him once more, staring at the male with a darkened glare. "If it weren't for you, Soobin would've never fallen for Yeonjun."
"Because I'm certain he never had feelings for him in the first place until you ruined it."
SLAM!
Right before Beomgyu could say what he wanted to say, both of their heads snapped towards the door that had slammed open with so much force.
That's when the last string of sanity Beomgyu held onto snapped.
His heart dropped down to his stomach as he faced the figure of a furious Yeonjun, his face reddened and his eyes blinded with anger.
Behind him were both Huening Kai and Soobin who were more shocked, the two of them staring at Beomgyu in disbelief.
that's when he knew, all of those lies and selfish acts he made, finally caught up to him.
"Yeonjun hyung..." Beomgyu's voice trembled with fear as he stared at the male who looked down at the ground before looking back up at Beomgyu with a murderous expression.
"You fucking liar."
