Black and Gold ⎥Datherine
Ever since Katherine moved in with the Salvatore's, she spent the majority of her time playing her favorite songs. Out of all the songs on her playlist, her favorites were 'Sweater Weather,' 'All Night,' 'Black and Gold' and 'Black', but she couldn't forget 'Where You Belong.' She hated to admit that she listened to all these songs at least once a day, especially because Stefan and Damon seemed to hate her taste in music.
Luckily, she was alone, so she had the entire house as her personal dance floor. She was dancing with a chair, singing as loud as she could to the music that was playing.
However, that all changed Havana by Camila Cabello came on and she couldn't control herself. She ran to her room, turned the volume all the way, ran back downstairs and did the chereography much like the one Camila did when she saw her on tour. As she was jamming out, a loud "Havana" escaping her throat, she heard someone clapping loudly behind her. She turned around, looked towards the top of stairs, saw Damon and he was dancing around, holding a bottle of bourbon in his hands.
Katherine stood there, shocked by the fact that he was shirtless (she didn't know why and she didn't really want to know). Damon just kept his eyes on her, Camila's voice echoing in the background.
"Don't stop on my account! I'll be your backup singing, considering that you're acting like Taylor Swift, if that's even her name." Damon laughed, backing away, but she noticed that his pants were lower than she would have liked them to be, the bottle pressed firmly to his lip. Katherine knew that it wouldn't be best to talk to him when he was drunk, so she just kept on singing. What would Damon do now? Oh, he let out a side of himself that she had never seen before. He joined her, singing the whole song, which was something she hadn't expected, continuing to dance, splashes of bourbon going all over the place.
When the song finished, Katherine decided that Damon would never have done this if he hadn't been drunk. It was clear that he had drunk more than just this bottle. Katherine turned the music off, but Damon was still dancing.
"Hey, Damon?" Katherine asked, taking a step away, unsure of what he would do.
"Yeah, Kitty Kat?" Damon said, still dancing. The more she thought about it, he was probably still hearing the music in his head.
"How are you?"
"Oh, I'm just grand, but thanks for asking." He smiled in Katherine's direction, taking a drink.
"If that's the case, why do you drink so much?" She laughed, rolling her eyes. She didn't get that part of him, but drinking was the way of him 'turning it off.'
"I drink to forget my problems. I am slightly uncomfortable with this conversation." Damon gave her a small smile, so she shut up.
"Can I ask you something else?" She played with her hands.
"I guess, but it depends—"
"Why aren't you wearing a shirt?" she cut him off.
"Okay, I guess I will answer that one," he said, nodding and closed the gap between him and Katherine. He smiled, took another drink and continued to look at her.
"I was hungry. I didn't want to get my nice clothes covered in blood."
Katherine avoided his gaze, but it seemed like Damon was enjoying seeing her squirm.
"Okay, I didn't need to know." She decided to end the conversation.
"Hey, there's nothing wrong with me not having a shirt off," Damon smiled, touching his abs.
"Hey, yes, that's a matter of opinion," Katherine smiled, grabbing his hand, trying to get the image out of her hand. "You've definitely drunk too much." Katherine tried to grab the bottle of alcohol, but to her disappointment, Damon was faster and got it out of her reach.
"I really haven't. I still feel awful, so I need to drink one more bottle." He cocked his head, challenging her, and took another drink.
"I'm not doing this with you," Katherine bit her bottom lip, reaching for the bottle, but she gazed up. Damon smirked and stepped closer to Katherine, her back against the wall.
"You want this?" he asked, smirking and teased her with the bottle. "Well, I hate to break it to you, but you're not getting it."
"What makes you so positive? I really want a drink." Katherine reached for the bottle, but Damon held it away.
"Suck it up. Go get your own bottle." He chuckled and walked away, allowing Katherine to breathe. She still couldn't believe that he wasn't wearing a shirt.
Smirking, she looked him up and down.
"I'll give you something else," Damon asked, setting the bottle down and joining Katherine. He pushed her against the wall, a smirk tugging at his lips. "It'll make you forget about the alcohol," he whispered. Katherine seemed to be gasping for breath. She forgot how things could get...so heated between them. It had never gone this far. Damon looked at Katherine and after he took in all her facial features, he pressed his lips to hers.
They wrapped their arms around each other, but both of their faces were red. They hadn't been this flushed in a long time.
Katherine's music started to play again, interrupting their moment.
Damon ran a hand through his hair, laughing.
"I still hate your music taste."
"Rude!" Katherine shouted, giggling at Damon.
"Hey," Damon said, smirking. "How do you feel about me being shirtless now?"
