(PART 1) Chapter 2: An even worse introduction
It's 2 am, let's keep this ball rolling folks.
WARNINGS FOR LANGUAGE USE AND MENTIONS OF A PANIC ATTACK

You couldn't focus.
All you could see were big, brown eyes staring into your stunned ones.
Then those eyes left your as the person who they belonged to bowed at a ninety degree angle.
"You must be Y/N, pleasure to meet you. And you're their brother, Min Yoongi?" The man who you now had a name for, Kim Seokjin, asked as he rose. Yoongi beside you gave him a curt nod before turning his attention to you.
You were frozen. You couldn't believe your father would stoop this low. You couldn't stop the scoff leaving your lips.
"No, this isn't happening," you more so told your father who looked at you sternly.
"Yes it is, Y/N. You behaved horribly at your lessons this morning. Your mother and I decided-" you loudly scoffed again. Your father cleared his throat. "Your mother and I decided that getting a tutor to help you learn your manners is the only way you'll truly learn to behave like royalty. Like it or don't, you do not have a choice in this matter." Your father scolded you, your mother looked at you apologetically.
All you could do was huff out some air you didn't know you were holding in.
"Thanks, but no thanks. I am my own person and will behave in such a manner, royalty or not. If you're so concerned about passing the crown onto someone, just give it to Yoongi or, I don't know, adopt another child like you refused to help Minshi." Your brother winced a bit, knowing you hit a soft spot for your parents. Seeing their expressions but refusing to look at the stranger in front of you, you aggressively spun around to leave, Yoongi following you shortly after.
Seokjin looked at both of your parents with a highly concerned expression.
"If they don't want this then I-"
"Hush. It's not about what they want, it's about what the kingdom needs. That's what's more important right now," your father sighed as he re-read over the declaration of war in his hands.
Seokjin turned to your mother, hoping for some kind of clarity. She refused to look at him, much like you had earlier. Sighing, he exited the royal courtroom.
He didn't know where he would go. He just walked. That's when he heard a noise behind a door further down the hallway. It sounded like pottery smashing.
"I DO NOT CARE WHAT MY PARENTS THINK, I WILL NOT LET THIS STRANGE MAN WALTZ INTO MY LIFE AND TRY TO MAKE ME INTO SOMETHING I AM NOT!" Your voice echoed through the hallway, halting the tall mans movements. He was now quite sure of where he stood in your life, but he wanted to get closer anyway.
The voice that followed yours was certainly harder to make out due to the lack of volume and power behind it.
"I know, kiddo. But what if you, and hear me out, give this guy a chance?" The smooth, soothing voice was followed by another sound of pottery smashing. "Okay, okay, I understand. But why don't you just hang out with him? You don't have to do what your father asked of you, just be around this guy."
"THIS MAN IS A STRANGER. A COMPLETE AND TOTAL STRANGER. WHY SHOULD I EVEN ENTERTAIN THE IDEA?" Your shouts could once again be heard loud and clear. If Seokjin was in a room a few doors down he could probably still understand every word you said.
"Kid, listen." A very long moment of silence followed. "I would like it if you made more friends. You have Jimin and you have me."
Your voice has changed. You were now sobbing.
"But I don't need anyone else!" You cried, Seokjin imagined you flinging yourself into the arms of this other speaker.
"But what happens when I'm gone, hmm?" Another moment of silence, then a loud sob. "You know I have to leave soon. Jimin can't be here all the time. Having someone you can rely on would help you a lot." Seokjin now had to assume that this was your brother Yoongi doing his best to reassure you.
"Why can't I go with you?" You sobbed again, seeming to have calmed down and found a bit of reason in his words.
"Your parents would kill me if they knew I brought you with me to a place like this," Yoongi laughed and you laughed with him. "It's only for a few months. You can handle it. You're brave and strong. I believe in you."
You hiccupped out a sob before the crying didn't reach Jins ears anymore. You seemed to have worn yourself out from all the tears.
"Go rest, kiddo. I'll wake you up if anything happens," Yoongi said softly before slipping out of your room, almost running face first into Seokjin.
"So you were listening," the shorter man remarked shortly.
"My apologies, I couldn't help it. I overheard things breaking and screaming and rushed to help, it seems I wasn't needed," Seokjin bowed before rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment, his ears turning slightly red.
"Hm. Listen, I don't know who the fuck you are, and I certainly don't care. But if anything happens to Y/N and I hear you're responsible," Yoongi stood taller to whisper in Seokjins ear. "Your head will be next. Got it?" Yoongi backed off immediately to watch all the color drain from the older mans face. He licked his lower lip before smirking at the brunette. "Watch yourself, asshole."
All Seokjin could do is stare in terror as Yoongi walked away. In his head, he recounted the events that led up to this point in his life.
A few weeks ago, he received a letter from your father about tutoring you in how to be prepared to take over the throne as a neighboring kingdom has just declared war on his and he was fearing the worst. He accepts the offer and your father gives him a generous offer for his salary.
Today, he arrives in your kingdom and is told that your father hasn't told you about this arrangement yet. So of course he isn't entirely shocked when you react negatively to this news. He was not expecting you to be explosive, though.
Then your brother, the mystery that he is, has to leave for a few months and threatens his life if something goes wrong with you?
What has he agreed to?
Clearly you are going to be more work than he expected. Maybe he should preemptively ask for a raise...
Not really able to clear his head but not wanting to dwell on the current events, he slowly sunk down so his back was leaning against your doorframe. Closing his eyes, all he wanted to do was meditate his thoughts away.
Sleep found him first. The exhaustion of the events was too much to handle.
When he next awoke, you were standing over him, kicking his leg.
"Why were you asleep outside my door?" You asked curtly, clearly there's some kind of venom towards older people that runs in your family if both your brother and yourself were reacting negatively towards him.
"I, uh, I'm very sorry. I was thinking and I must've fallen asleep," he apologized, unable to meet your sneering gaze.
You hummed at him before turning on your heel and walking away. He didn't know what force of nature there was that told him to rise and follow you, but he trotted to catch up to your gait.
"Uh, I think we got off on the wrong foot there, now didn't we?" He tried to start a conversation with you. You didn't respond.
"...Uhm, right. I am Kim Seokjin, I'm here to tuto- I mean, help you in whatever way I can," still no response but you seemed to walk quicker.
"Yes, it's nice to meet you too. Where are we going?" You looked over your shoulder to glare at him.
"Of course, your father gave me a rough schedule of your daily and weekly activities but I can't exactly remember what all goes where," he was trying to lighten the mood as you kept walking but you seemed to only tense up further.
"Not one for conversation, I see. Maybe some dad jokes will help sweeten your sour?" He tried to joke, your shoulders started shaking.
"Okay, what do you call an evil cow?" No response. "MOO-HA-HA-HA!" He couldn't help but bend over laughing at his own joke. You immediately froze in place. He couldn't see your expression but he hoped you were smiling.
"That's a good one right? I thought of it all myself! If you want more where that came from- OOF!" In a split second after he stood upright again you had turned and punched him in the stomach, causing him to double over again, this time in pain. You slowly got closer to him.
"Who. Do you. Think. You are?" You asked with so much ice behind those words Seokjin thought his veins would freeze over. It was his turn to be speechless. "Tsk. Right. Well I have some advice for you, Mr. Kim." You stood right in front of his face and glared directly into his eyes.
"You do anything like that again, I'll make sure my arm dislocates from punching you so hard you blast through a wall. Got it?" He nodded, absolutely frightened. Once he did, you turned back around and entered through a door, slamming it before he could process you had left.
You hated everything. First your father brings this weirdo to tutor you. Then Yoongi has to leave for a few months. Can things get any worse?
You fell with your back against the door, suddenly unable to breathe. Unable to resist the urge to cough, your eyes welled up with tears. You clutched your hands in your hair, pulling slightly at the strands. You hoped the floor would swallow you up and help you disappear. No such luck seemed to be on your side though.
Eventually, your ability to breathe came back but the tears wouldn't stop flowing. Lying down on the floor, you let them pool up under your face as you cried.
Sleep found you soon enough. In your dreams, you were filled with what ifs. What ifs you didn't want to process.
What if Yoongi never came back?
What if Jimin disappeared some day?
...What would happen if you let this new guy in?
Dream you pondered on this thought. You hate him. But what has he done to deserve your hatred?
Well, he made a really bad joke while you were seething. That's one point against him.
Other than that, the only other points against him were due to your father so you transferred the blame onto him instead.
Maybe Yoongi was right. He usually is.
Dream you vowed to tell awake you to give this guy a shot.
