Fire warms the cold
It was cold in Arendelle. Isabelle was surprised, because usually her powers blocked coldness. Maybe Elsa had even frozen everything again. But no, she could see plants shooting up. She walked from her chariot to the palace, and knocked on the great double doors. Normally, the guards would probably ask her identity, but she supposed the scorch marks that went all the way through the door were enough for them. They opened with a grand creak. Guards bowed in synchronization, speaking with several "My Lady's" 's. Then one stepped up to her, and said "The princess Anna is waiting in her bed chambers" Well, technically she was now Queen Anna, but no one said that out loud. The guard just bowed and led her away. What he had told her was actually incorrect, Anna was n Kristoff's bedroom. Olaf was there too. He looked completely unthreatened, like he didn't know that she could melt him with one poke of the finger. Kristoff smiled, but it looked forced. Isabelle decided to start fairly simple. "I'm so sorry Anna." Apparently not simple enough, because she kept swallowing like she was trying not to cry. Isabelle had done it so many times after her parents had left. She sat down, immediately burned through the linoleum, and stood up again. Kristoff offered her a drink, but she waved it away. She drank water much less than the average person, but since water counteracted fire, it seemed appropriate. "What do you want me to do about it?" Isabelle asked. It seemed so unhelpful, so pitiful, that Isabelle grimaced. Anna didn't think so. "I need you to find her, Isabelle. Please. She will expect me, and has probably prepared herself so I can't affect her. She loves me, but she wouldn't let me convince her to come back. You might be able too. Please, Isabelle. She's my sister." Isabelle sighed. She stared at Anna. Of course she couldn't say no. She had been through so much, and saying no to this would be awful for her. Isabelle may have been her last hope. After all, there were people to rule in Isabelle's place. "I suppose." she responded, trying to keep any reluctance out of her voice. Anna looked so grateful, it made it worth it. "Thank you. I know you can do it.". Isabelle watched as Anna began to reach for her hand, remembered how dangerous that would be, and took it back. Her eyes said everything for her though. She saw relief in Kristoff's eyes, and, as always, genuine happiness in Olaf's. Gratefulness, worry, and pain shifted through Anna's eyes as though she couldn't decide which one to feel. Isabelle smiled forlornly and walked away. A servant offered to walk her to the door, but she refused. Later at the chariot, she was offered company to find Elsa on her own, but she refused. Isabelle had to do this on her own.
