Chapter ~ 17
"Why do I need to dress up it's not like it's my first party?" Isha frowned when both Charu and Navya barged into her house and started ordering her to quickly get ready and scolded her for deciding to go in her cute jumpsuit, she thought it was like a normal party not some important function to dress up.
"Typica nerd behaviour" Navya shook her head, Charu whacked her on the back of it, shushing her as she applied eyeliner on Navya's eyes, Navya couldn't stop fidgeting or chattering.
"Oye! marne ki nai hori" Navya complained and Charu sighed rolling her eyes,"Navya for the love of Damon Salvatore, Sit straight properly, if you don't want to look like a clown"
"Why are you being so irritated? If this is the way you're gonna behave after coming from your so-called job then quit it, now Charu" Navya huffed trying to get away from Charu who held her back and applied the eyeliner,"Shut up first" Charu mumbled.
She bit her tongue, she seemed to be a bit annoyed after coming from her first day at the job....it was really exhausting, he was going on shooting orders and her notepad was almost full with instructions.
He was such a perfectionist, actually over perfectionist and it sucks to be ordered around by someone of almost your age. But she can't give up soon. If he was Mr. perfectionist then Charu wasn't new to juggling multiple things. She had handled things better alone and well before. This just required some time.
"Navya that's not the way bro, we should congratulate her and you know celebrate that Charu got her first job and now I feel... so unemployed I want to also do something" Isha pouted as she discarded the leather skirt she didn't like
"Isha, I love you" Charu pointed at Isha with liner giving a flying kiss.
"Isha after shifting a box to another room, oh my god I feel so drained, I have iron deficiency, I am going to faint" Navya acted.
"Iron deficiency is not a joke"
Isha glared
"Don't open your eyes" Charu scolded and stepped away to do her hair now. Isha's dressing corner was so big all three fit and could get ready together.
"Okay Charu Chudail you know you are like my soul sister, I am so happy you got the job but I don't want you to put up with something you don't like" Navya said giving a tight hug to Charu affectionately Charu pushed her away making a face but smiling nevertheless. "You are just worried because now you don't have a free head to eat up" Charu said
"Haye I love you too" Navya gushed squeezing Charu
"Aww group hug without me, I am also coming" Isha rushed towards them finding a cute top to pair with her washed jeans, she hugged them grinning.
"You go dress up nerd, Quickly" Navya shouted.
••
"The owner is a legit celebrity "Navya praised as they reached the location of the house party, Charu behind her watching the house suspiciously, it was literally a villa with lush green porch and she could even guess there might be a big pool too behind.
How did Navya Nani get invited to this VIP party?
"Again, whose party is it Navya Dear?"
"Are Charu gutli khao aam na gino" Navya replied grinning.
"It's aam khao gutli na gino" Isha corrected getting out of their ola ride, she was holding the bag with liquor bottles against her chest, huffed.
She informed at home she was going for sleepover at Charu's home to study, since exams were coming which was true and sleepover part too, after party to Charu's home that was the plan. She edited the party part, her parents won't restrict her but they will be very concerned if she told them, which was worse than restrictions.
Isha scrunched her nose observing the grand house in front of them with people on the porch chatting and enjoying she said, "It's a farm house"
"Who cares if it's a farm house or pottery house, let's get in girls" Navya made a move as the three girls remained rooted in their spot staring at the house with a bit of anticipation and thrill.
•
"Will they ask some kinda passcode or what?" Charu whispered as they entered the house, the moment they stepped in, the house literally vibrated under loud music, the prominent smell of liquor and expensive perfume made a weird combo in a way was influencing, like the girls could feel the vibes seeping in their blood and the sudden thumping of their hearts at the beats. They had been to normal school parties but this was some other level thing.
"Well this is .umm looks kinda illegal.... I mean what are they sniffing on there?" Isha pointed dumbly at the corner in the dimly lit hall, on the sofa were two guys sniffing on something.
"Stop pointing Isha, bad habit" Charu scolded Isha.
"There's Divesh mera bhai!" Navya waved at the guy in blue shirt with a red cup waving back noticing Navya and her friends in the crowd
"Come on in, Navya why you standing there?" Divesh didn't actually remember it was Navya, when he had stopped the lift on Advik's words. And how his friend loathed her.
Navya grinned while walking to him taking the liquor bag from Isha,
"I was kidding when I said to not come empty handed, but thank you anyways" Divesh chuckled taking the bottles, appreciating reading the brand.
"You all enjoy, need something just holler for me, and if you want to have more fun come to the pool area that's where the real party is" he said in a low voice the last part.
Navya's eyes lit up at it, she beckoned Charu and Isha to join her as she went to navigate.
So this was the house party, Isha still letting it sink in...how she always wanted to go to a party and now she was here she felt this great repulsion at the way it was, everyone was doing just their own things particularly any nonsensical things.
The huge hall with one side bar and the other side sofas laid, people sitting and huddling over doing God knows what. Then ahead in the centre where most of the crowd was swaying, dancing and lost in the beats. But then couples making out at side.....
kissing like REALLY-
Isha flipped her neck away quickly. Her face turned red.... people are too forward nowadays
She glanced back at her friends only to see they weren't there.
Awesome
Navya, wanted to dance the loud music was literally making her intoxicated with energy. "Charu see, that big disco I so wanted to dance on a big disco floor" Navya gushed squeezing Charu's arm with excitement.
Charu recognised a few of her classmates in the party, Priya one of her friends smiled in surprise noticing her,"wow you are here too" she laughed.
Charu freed Navya's grasp to meet her,"don't drink or do anything stupid" she warned Navya before leaving.
"Okay mumma" Navya rolled her eyes,"both of you also don't go far away" Navya thought Isha was behind too.
Isha hardly knew anybody here, her eyes were searching for her friends whom she lost by daydreaming, she collided with someone while looking around.
"Hello pretty girl, do you want to drink something?" A weird drunker leered at her.
"No, thank you" Isha said trying to get away but he blocked her way stepping in her personal space. She tried to move from a different side but he held her hand,"come on it's just a drink"
Isha felt dread spreading in her body she yanked her hand back but the grip was tight and the music was too loud to scream
Maybe she was being too dramatic, maybe people just drank with strangers here, Even her friends seemed to not be so bothered she hesitated looking around again. Whatever.... she didn't like being manhandled she forcibly pulled her hand out of his grip. She sighed in relief when it got free. By the counter effect she stumbled back on someone behind. She turned around and squinted her eyes up at finding a familiar figure with warm light brown eyes.
Yashhh
She tried to conceal her happiness and she couldn't even understand where it was coming from but she, there and then realised how much she had missed him.
"Ujwal stop bothering girls and get your drunk ass out from here" Yash said, pushing off Ujwal he was a piece of shit. Yash didn't know why Advik invited such losers.
Yash looked back to check the girl was okay whom, Ujwal was bothering under crowd advantage.
He did a double take cause he thought he was imagining like what was Isha doing in this mad house? In Advik's famous disaster parties.
But indeed, how could he not recognise those big dark eyes, small figure and floral fragrance.
"Isha?" He asked still not sure whether it was his speck of imagination
"Yash" she greeted back, giving a huge smile that made his widened too. Then he shook his head with confusion.
"Wasn't it like you ghosted me?" Yash wondered
Isha flushed with shame,"umm yes I mean I am sorry?" She asked awkwardly
Yash didn't know how to take this as, just yesterday he had stopped checking his mobile ....well because Advik took it when Yash was every moment checking on it for Isha's message.
"I texted you" Isha filled in the silence, she couldn't even blame him for being hesitant to talk to her now.
"You did?" Yash asked in surprise
"Ah yes anyways forget it-"
"No don't forget, let's talk somewhere else not here" Yash put his arm out as someone was going to bump into Isha while carrying drinks, resulting in, the girl spilling the drink on Yash's sleeve.
"Oh no Yash babe I am sorry let me help you" The girl cooed reaching for Yash.
"It's fine" Yash said shrugging his arm, and he gestured Isha to move out from standing in the middle of the way.
Isha nodded, walking to a side corner particularly where people were lounging around on the sofas, dazed and doing what not. Guys hollering and girls shrieking out, laughing at something.
Isha stared at them with a big frown, the dislike for the surroundings was quite visible on her face. Yash noticed it,"you know what let's go upstairs"
Isha looked up at the stairs there was just one light and call her paranoid but she hesitated of what to find upstairs.
"At the balcony, it's not crowded at all" Yash assured,"you want to go home? I can drop you off, if you don't like being here or maybe call the cab for you"
"No- no Yash it's fine let's go upstairs" Isha said, she didn't want to ruin other people's nights. Her friends were enjoying somewhere. She couldn't understand what was wrong with her and why she didn't like this kinda fun?
"Don't look so distraught, it looks like I am holding you at a gunpoint or something" Yash joked.
Isha chuckled,"no actually I didn't think this was what college parties were all about.." Isha said as they walked together upstairs.
"What do you mean?" Yash asked
"I mean, like I thought people would hang out together, know each other and just ..... enjoy each other's company a little drinking is all right but here people are just out of their senses. And I bet some of them won't even remember the night the next morning" Isha spoke her thoughts out. "God... I am sounding so lame "
"You are not, we are on the same page, I guess most of us think the same way but just prefer to follow the herd, typical human nature "
Isha let out a breath on reaching the balcony secluded area she noticed Yash entered some password at the door. And he was right, there was nobody, just them. And the big sky view with fresh night air. An open area in the centre placed comfortable table and chairs .This was much, much better than downstairs.
"There it is" Yash said staring at her. Her head held up, eyes closed and lips turned up feeling the air.
Isha looked back at him pushing her hair behind her ear,"what?"
Your beautiful care free smile
