"We'll have a psychiatrist check up on him later on, lets allow him to rest" the doctor said to his parents, Mr and Mrs. Quinn sighed sadly, this was their third time here because of one thing their son kept on doing....suicide attempt. Mrs Quinn held her child's hand as she listened to the heart monitor beeping in the room, they're aware of the bullying their son goes through each day all because of one particular boy...Leonard Grampian.

"This is the last time, when i see that boy I'll beat his ass" Mr Quinn said in anger, he thought the bullying would stop when Austin tried killing himself for the first time but nope, it somehow got worse.

"I'll go to the school tomorrow morning, enough is enough" Mrs. Quinn said in confidence.

Austin sat up on his hospital bed, it was visiting hours in the morning but he was all alone, he figured that his parents were at work so he didn't mind.

The doctor came in smiling at him.

"Good morning, hmm..." she said examining him.

"Your wrists are all covered up, avoid putting pressure on them and the psychiatrist will be here shortly" she said smiling. Austin nodded his head trying his best to smile.

After the doctor left, yesterday's events came to his mind, he remembers going to school, he remembers being shoved into the janitors room by Leonard and he remembers everything the bully said to him.

"You're pathetic, weird, unnatural, you don't see to live in the same planet as us normal people the world would be a greater place without you in it anyways"

He chuckled dryly as he remembered grabbing that razor and slitting his wrists, he remembers his dad breaking down his bathroom door and he remembers his mother's cries in the car as they drove to the hospital.

"What a life"

The doctor came in smiling at them, he groaned just looking at the bright smile.

"I have great news, we found a match for you" she said in glee, he sighed when he first heard this.

"When can the surgery start?" Ms. Grampian asked,

"We have to ask for permission from the patient's parents first so maybe after that" the doctor said changing the drip on his arm.

Leonard sighed as his stomach began to churn, his kidney was failing and he was in need for a donor asap.

"Thank you Doctor" his mother said, after the doctor left, Leonard turned to his mother.

"You can go to work now, I'll be fine here" he said, ms. Grampian smiled and kissed his forehead.

"See you later honey" she said and left.

He sighed and laid his head on the fluffy pillow. His mind takes him to the boy he sees everyday, he bullies him because he actually likes him, he feels like he's a walking cliche, a bully liking the nerd he torments, pff.

He remembers the first time he saw Austin, the small boy was walking in the halls with books in his hands, he remembers hearing the boy's sweet voice when he asks questions in class and he remembers pushing the blame on the shy boy because he made him feel unnatural feelings towards him, he felt weird waking up everyday knowing he had feelings for Austin and he hated that Austin was free to be who he is unlike him, he was the popular jock, star soccer player, wanted by all the girls in school and he happens to like a nerdy boy.

"I wanted to ask you something" the doctor said looking at the Quinns.

"Is everything alright doctor?" Mrs. Quinn asked in worry.

"Everything is fine, Austin is doing great....i wanted to ask if he could donate a kidney to a patient of his age" the doctor said quietly.

"You want our son to donate a kidney? Isn't that too soon? What if he dies on the table?" Mr Quinn said, he's truly worried about his son.

"With the proper care, Austin will be awake by midnight" the doctor reassured them

"Can we atleast meet the patient?" Mr Quinn asked.

"Austin...what do you think about this?" His mother asked

"I...want to meet the patient first" he said quietly.

"Okay then, I'll wheel you up" the doctor said grabbing the wheelchair.

"Are you excited?, finally you'll be healthy again" Ms. Grampian said smiling, she's very excited that a donor was found so quickly.

There was a knock at the door and the doctor came in smiling.

"Hello, i have your donor here" she said stopping the wheelchair, Austin looked at Leonard with eyes full of fear.

"No.." he said quietly. His parents entered the room and their smile disappeared on their faces.

"This is the patient?" Mr Quinn asked in anger.

"Yes...anything wrong?" The doctor asked innocently. Leonard was frozen in his place, never had he imagined that he'll be in this predicament with Austin.

Ms. Grampian looked at her son.

"Leo what did you do?"

"It's what he hasn't done, do you know your son bullies Austin everyday and did you know that our son has tried killing himself all because of that demon child" Mr. Quinn said in anger, he truly cannot believe what's happening right now.

The doctor was there in silence, she blames herself for this mess.

"Uhh..so is that a no on the surgery?" She asked.

"Are you serious? You want our son to donate an organ to this homophobic bully? I don't think so" Mrs. Quinn said grabbing the wheelchair handles.

"Come on honey, lets go" she said wheeling Austin out of the room.

Mr. Quinn looked at Leonard with hatred.

"Just because you dont accept our son doesn't give you the right to treat him like you do, now look at you, you are waiting for an organ coming from the person you bullied, i wish you luck with your life" he said and left.

"Leonard, why did you treat that boy like that?"

Leonard remained quiet, he was processing what just happened, guilt washed over him as he remembered the soft cries of begging Austin made everytime he tormented him and now his life depends on the same person he tormented, he laughed quietly.

"Karma is a bitch"

"I'll give it to him" he said quietly, his parents groaned in frustration.

"Austin, the boy bullies you, this is your chance to stand up for yourself and be a man" his father said, Austin bit his bottom lip.

"Are you....ashamed of me?" He asked his eyes glistening, His mother sat next to him on the bed.

"No honey, it's just...we don't want a part of you living in that body full of hate" she said rubbing circles on his back.

"I get it....it's just....maybe he'll change after the surgery" he said, Austin believes that if he gives his kidney to Leonard, he'll stop bullying him....right?

"It's your kidney honey, and if you want to give it to him, so be it" his mother said defeated.

"Okay, I'll get the OR ready then" the doctor said

A month later....

Austin closed his locker after grabbing his books, he sighed in relief when no one came up to him....its been a month since his operation and he's doing great, his parents found him a therapist and he's been attending his sessions everyday.

He entered the classroom and sat at his usual seat, the teacher began the lesson as always and he sighed in content.

The class door opened his breath hitched, it was Leonard, he watched the jock walk up to him and sit next to him.

"Hi" Leonard whispered, Austin ignored him. He feels like Leonard is being friendly just because he gave him a kidney, all he wants is the bullying to stop that's all.

Leonard sighed sadly when he was ignored by the shy boy, he thought things will change between them especially after Austin changed his mind and gave him his kidney.

"Can i sit with you?" He asked, Austin sighed.

"Sure" he replied, Leonard smiled as he ate lunch next to Austin, it was too silent so he asked a question.

"Tell me about yourself" he said.

"You want to me....to tell you about myself?" Austin said in disbelief.

"Yes"

"Okay, I'm Austin, gay, i got bullied by this homophobic prick who turned out to need my help because i was a match for him for a kidney transplant, oh and guess what, he's being too friendly to me because he feels guilty for the times he bullied me, well i have a newsflash for him, i don't want his friendship, i want him to just leave me ALONE" he said and stormed off.

Leonard shrunk in his seat after hearing the cafeteria doors slam, everyone was looking at him with questioning eyes.

"I deserved that" he mumbled.

Austin wiped his tears, he cannot believe the nerve that prick had, now he wants to be friends with him?

The bathroom doors opened and he groaned in frustration, it was Leonard.

"Austin...please hear me out" he begged.

"What more do you need Leonard? I gave you my kidney, you already have my dignity what more do you want" he said wiping his tears.

"I just...i just want to apologize to you for everything, i did all those things because..i like you Austin" he confessed. Austin listened to him and his heart sank.

"You know Leonard, the first time i saw you i immediately had a crush on you" he said, Leonard smiled when he heard Autsin had feelings for him too.

"But not anymore Leonard, you hurt me to the point where i wanted to die, thats not something you do to someone you like, when you like someone, you give them hints that you do, don't call them worthless or pathetic, I'm truly sorry Leonard but i just can't return your feelings back, i hope you find someone who makes you very happy" he said wiping his tears with his sleeves.

Leonard watched Austin leave the bathroom and he gave himself the chance to breakdown, he cried, he cried because what Austin said was true, he was a total ass and he never considered Austin's wellbeing only focused on himself.

"I swear Austin, I'll find someone to love and I'll love them hard, because you taught me to be a better man".
