"Okay?" Austin doubted Tim's explanation. "Why didn't you just go to the bathroom down here?"
Tim sighs and hangs his head. He was tired of trying to come up with excuses. Avi walks slowly out of the kitchen. Adam lays an arm around the smaller man's shoulder as they both give Tim a nod as they meet his eyes.
"Uh, Austin? We need to talk." Tim says as he slowly makes his way down the stairs to where his wives were waiting.
"Alright? About what?" Austin asks, wondering if he was going to get answers to all his questions.
"We haven't exactly told you the truth." Adam says in a soft tone.
"There's more that's going on here that you might not be able to understand." Tim says, shaking his head. "Cause, to be quite honest, I don't even understand."
"Should I sit down for this?" Austin asks.
"It wouldn't be a bad idea for us all to sit down." Avi says, smiling nervously.
They head into the kitchen and sat down at the table. Tim reaches out and takes a hand of each of his wives.
"December twenty-fourth of last year, I was coming home from work. The roads had gotten icy. I was coming around that same curve where you had your wreck. My car began to slide on the ice. It was like it was on air. I couldn't control it. The last thing I remembered was my car rolling down an embankment. My car was found practically wrapped around a tree." Tim says as he gently squeezes Adam and Avi's hands.
"They said he died instantly." Adam says softly. "They had to cut the car apart just to get his body out." He quickly wipes a tear.
"You can't even imagine how we felt when they called and told us that he had been found. Adam and I were wrapping last minute Christmas presents." Avi says, his voice cracking with emotion. "He was our life."
"There was no way that we could go on without him. We didn't want to." Adam says as he reaches for a tissue. "We were even making plans to commit suicide."
"But .. But how did this happen?" Austin asks, pointing at Tim.
"My sister, Esther, is a physic medium." Avi answers. "She does seances and stuff. We just wanted our Tim back."
"We came up with a plan for Esther to bring Tim back to us. She wasn't too happy about doing it." Adam says. "But I think she knew what we were planning."
"When they first brought me back through the portal, I was just an orb." Tim says. "But the stronger my spirit got, my body began to form."
"For a while, you could see right through him." Avi adds.
"I have to confess something." Austin says. "I already knew. Chance told me that you were killed. I found the cross with your name on it. I also found your grave. But I never told him that I saw you."
"Please don't tell him. We'll figure out something about that later." Adam says and receives a nod from Austin.
"Can anybody see you?" Austin asks.
"Only here at the house." Tim answers.
"But you just went to town." Austin says, with a confused look.
"The spirit went. The body didn't." Tim says, shaking his head. "If you had looked in our bedroom, you would have found this body lying peacefully in bed in a dormant state. A mere shell."
"Wow." Austin breathes, shaking his head. "This is crazy."
"Tell me about it." Tim chuckles. "Like I said, I don't even understand it."
"We don't understand how he formed this body." Adam says with a shrug. "The very same body that is lying in the cemetery."
"So, what shapes do you take once you leave the body?" Austin asks. He found this very interesting and wanted to know more.
"Any form I want. I can be invisible, an orb, a cold spot or a mist. I can be a dark shadowy figure but they don't like that. They say it's creepy." Tim laughs. "But I can also be a full body apparition which looks like this (motioning to his body) but it's transparent."
"I think this is so interesting." Austin chuckles as he shakes his head.
"I need to know that we can trust you, Austin. Absolutely no one can know about this." Tim says.
"But what about Chance? He said you were best friends." Austin says.
"He's like a brother to me." Tim says. "We'll tell him. We just gotta figure out how. I don't want him freaking out."
"You can trust me. I won't say a word. Even if I did, who would believe me?" Austin chuckles.
"True." Tim smiles with a nod. "And thank you."

(Friday)
"How do I look?" Austin says as he comes into the living room.
Tim chuckles as his wives jump into action. Straightening Austin's collar, trying to get his hair to lay just perfect.
"You had to ask." Tim laughs, shaking his head. "What time is he supposed to be here? I need to make myself disappear."
"Uh, seven, I think." Austin answers.
Tim looks around at the clock. 6:30.
"Well, knowing Chance he will come early." Tim chuckles as he stands up from his recliner.
"Really? Oh, my God. How do I look? Do I look alright? Why didn't you tell me that he would be here early?" Austin asks in a panic.
"Just to see you panic." Tim laughs as he heads up the stairs.
"You look fine." Adam says. "Just relax."
At 6:45 there was a knock on the door.
"Oh, crap!" Austin says as his breath quickens. "He wasn't kidding was he."
Avi laughs as he goes to answer the door. Tim's spirit walks out of the bedroom and stands at the top of the stairs, watching.
"Hey." Avi smiles as he opens the door.
"I know I'm early." Chance chuckles as he gives Avi a hug.
"That's quite alright. Come on in." Avi says as he steps out of the way for Chance to enter.
"Is Austin ready?" Chance asks as he looks around at what used to be a second home for him. Nothing had changed. He smiles sadly at a picture of him and Tim. He remembered when that picture was taken. They were both drunk off their asses.
"Yeah, he's in the living room." Avi answers as he heads to the room with Chance following close behind.
The spirit smiles as he sees his old friend. He had to figure out a way to let his presence be known without freaking Chance out too much.
"Wow, you look great." Chance smiles as he gives Austin a quick hug.
"Thanks. I really didn't know how fancy to dress." Austin smiles shyly. "But the experts here, (pointing to Adam & Avi) said I looked fine."
Tim begins walking quietly down the steps so he could get a better view. He forgot all about the fifth step. The creaky one.
He steps on the step and freezes as the step creaks loudly.
Everyone's attention is drawn immediately to the stairs. Adam, Avi, and Austin, all had panicked looks on their faces.
Even though he was invisible, Tim felt as though they were looking right at him.
"Uh, what was that?" Chance asks, staring at the stairs.
"Just .. Just the house settling." Adam answers quickly.
"Yeah, Yeah. It does that all the time." Avi chuckles nervously.
Tim stood quietly, afraid that if he moved the step would creak again.
"You ready to go?" Austin asks, grabbing Chance by the hand and pulling him toward the door.
"Yeah, sure." Chance answers, still eyeing the stairs.
"Yall have fun." Adam calls out to them as he quickly shuts the door behind them.
"TIMOTHY!!" Adam and Avi scold.
"Uh, yall should really get that step fixed." Tim says from the stairway.
