Chapter 2

As the three come downstairs, they find Austin still sitting at the table gently rubbing his forehead.

"Austin? These are my wives." Tim says with a smile. "Adam and Avi."

"I'm pleased to meet you both." Austin smiles. "I'm so sorry if I woke you up."

"You didn't, he did." Avi chuckles and points to Tim. "Here's you some dry clothes. I hope they fit you alright. They'll at least make you feel better."

"Thank you, so much. I have some more clothes in the car." Austin says as he takes the clothes from the bearded man.

"Are you sure you don't need to see a doctor?" Adam asks as he examines the bump on Austin's head. "Dr. Lundquist in town is just an ole country doctor but he's very good."

"Naw, I think I'm alright. But I could use a couple of Ibuprofen if you got some?" Austin says with a slight smirk on his boyish face. "And a place to change clothes."

"The bathroom is at the end of this little hallway. There's some Ibuprofen in the medicine cabinet." Adam smiles.

"Thank you. And Tim, thanks for the food. I was starving." Austin chuckles.

"No problem." Tim says. He had been sitting quietly at the table, letting his wives be Mother Hens over the newcomer.

After Austin leaves the kitchen, the trio looks at one another.

"Now what?" Adam asks quietly.

"We have two extra bedrooms." Tim says with a shrug. "We could let him stay here. At least until he figures out what to do. He's sort of stranded right now. We just can't kick him out with nowhere to go."

"But, Sweetie, don't you think it's a little risky? Him staying here?" Avi asks, with worry in his voice. Adam nods in agreement.

"He's not going to find out. It'll be alright." Tim smiles taking each of his wives by the hand. "You guys worry too much."

"You're right." Austin says as he comes back into the kitchen. "I do feel a lot better."

"Uh, Austin, we were just talking. I know it's late or early." Tim chuckles slightly. "You must be exhausted. We have an extra bedroom if you'd like to get some sleep."

"Bless you." Austin giggles. "I think I've been about twenty-four hours without sleep. Do you know where I could find a phone? I need to make some phones about my car wreck. Police, wrecker, insurance."

"Yeah, there's a phone at Last Chance Grocery in town that you can use." Avi answers.

"How far is town?" Austin asks.

"Maybe about four miles on up the road." Tim says.

"Oh." Austin sighs.

Tim smiles as if he read the young man's mind.

"You can use one of our cars." Tim smiles.

"Really? You don't mind?" Austin asks with a huge smile.

"As long as you bring it back." Tim chuckles.

"Oh, I will." Austin laughs. "Man, you guys have been so generous. I really do appreciate all of this so much."

"No need to thank us, let me show you to one of the spare bedrooms so you can get some sleep." Adam says, getting up from the table.

Avi picks up Austin's wet clothes and goes to put them in the washer without saying a word.

Tim walks up behind him, sliding his arms around the smaller man's waist.

"Will you stop worrying." Tim says in a soft voice as he kisses his wife on the neck.

"I can't help it." Avi pouts as he turns around in Tim's arms.

Tim chuckles softly and kisses him on the nose.

"Everything is going to be alright." Tim says.

"Promise?" Adam speaks up from the doorway of the utility room.

Tim sighs and holds out an arm for his other wife.

"I promise." Tim smiles as he holds his wives close.

Austin wakes with the sun shining brightly into his room. He had been beyond exhausted and had gone to sleep the minute his head hit the pillow.

The aroma of sausage and bacon reaches his nose, waking him fully. He climbs out of bed, slipping back on the jogging pants that Avi had given him.

As he comes down the stairs, he could hear movement and soft low humming coming from the kitchen.

He walks into the kitchen to see Tim busy fixing a large breakfast.

"Good morning." Austin says, heading straight for the coffee.

"Well, good morning. I figured you'd see a lot longer." Tim says, glancing over his shoulder at their visitor.

"I probably could have. But I got a lot to do today. You need any help?" Austin asks.

"Nope. Just have a seat." Tim smiles. "Oh, by the way, your clothes are clean and hanging up in the utility room."

"Thanks, but y'all didn't have to do that." Austin says, sitting down at the table.

"Well, I figured you might not want to go to town wearing pants that are about four inches too short." Tim smirks as he sets a plate of food in front of Austin.

"True." Austin laughs.

"Morning." Adam yawns as he walks up to Tim wrapping his arms around his waist, laying his head sleepily on his husband's shoulder.

"Morning, Angel." Tim says with a smile, kissing him on the head. "Is Avi up too?"

"Mhmm, he'll be down in a minute. He just got out of the shower." Adam mumbles.

Tim sets Adam's plate down and pulls his chair out for him.

"Good morning." Avi smiles as he walks into the kitchen.

"Morning, Baby Doll." Tim smiles and kisses him, before setting him a plate on the table and pulling his chair out for him.

Austin smiles at the sweetness of the trio. The pet names were so adorable.

They carried on a light conversation as they ate.

"What time does Last Chance Grocery open?" Austin asks as he finishes his breakfast.

"Uh, in about twenty minutes." Avi answers, looking up at the clock.

"Oh, okay." Austin says getting up from the table and starts to clean up his dishes.

"No, don't worry about that. We got it." Tim smiles.

"Are you sure?" Austin asks.

"Positive. You go get ready." Tim answers as he, Adam and Avi begin to clear the dishes.

Austin grabs his clothes then dashes upstairs to get ready.

As he comes back down the stairs, Avi is waiting on him. He hands him some keys and a piece of paper.

"The keys are to the black Mustang. BE CAREFUL. This is our name and address if you need it." Avi says.

"Thanks, Avi. Thank you so much." Austin says.

"You put one scratch on my car, I will hunt you down." Avi says, faking a smile.

~~

Austin found the little grocery store with no problem since it was the only one in the small town. It was a typical little country store out of a Rockwell painting. The two old men sitting out front of the store, smile and nod as Austin walks passed.

He was really beginning to like this little town.

"Good morning." A very nice looking bearded man smiles as he stocks the shelves.

"Good morning. I was told that you had a phone I could use?" Austin smiles.

"Sure." The man says as he walks behind the counter and pulls a phone out from underneath, sitting it on the counter.

"Thank you." Austin smiles.

"No problem." The man says with a wink, then gets back to work.

'Wow'. Austin mouths as he starts to make his calls. Secretly watching the cute man.

"Done." Austin says quietly as he hangs up from his last call.

"Uh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to eavesdrop but did you say you had a wreck last night?" The man asks.

"Yeah, I lost control of my car coming around a really sharp curve trying to miss a deer, completely totaled my car." Austin answers. "Some very sweet guys let me stay at their house last night. Adam, Avi and ..."

"Yeah, The Fousts." The man says before Austin finishes. "Really great guys. It was heartbreaking when Tim died."

"Wait. What?" Austin asks, his face going pale.

"Their husband, Tim, was my best friend. He was killed in a car wreck last year on Christmas Eve on the very same curve that you said you had your wreck." The man says. "There's a white cross marking the place he died."
