chapter 8 - Lunatic

From 1.07 "Night School", in BHHS' cafeteria, Stacie and Stiles burst through the doors while everyone else followed.
Derek: (voice over) "Previously on Worlds Colliding (Teen Wolf)"
From 1.01 "Wolf Moon", outside of BHHS, Stiles and Scott were standing nearby the door.
Ari and Lydia were on their way to the door.
"Hey, Lydia," Stiles told her. Lydia ignored him as she and Ari walked past. "You look like... you're gonna ignore me."
From 1.07 "Night School", outside BHHS, Jackson and Allison were walking toward the school ahead of them.
"Hey, Allison," Jackson told her.
Allison turned back to him with a small smile. "You have this look like you're about to say 'Be careful'."
Lydia looked at them from next to the car. She looked a little jealous.
From 1.01 "Wolf Moon", there were flashes of Scott, Derek and Tara running from the hunters.
Scott as leaning against the tree, looking at Derek. "Who are they?"
"Hunters, the kind who have been hunting us for centuries," Derek answered.
From 1.01 "Wolf Moon", outside BHHS, a red SUV's car horn honking made Scott and Allison look toward it, the driver getting out.
"That's my dad," Allison told him.
The head hunter, Chris, looked at Scott.
From 1.01 "Wolf Moon", in the Preserve, Chris stepped forward, lowering his crossbow.
From 1.01 "Wolf Moon", outside BHHS, Chris looked at Scott, smiling.
Scott was in too much shock.
From 1.04 "Magic Bullet", in the Argent House, in Allison's room, Scott and Allison sat on her bed, looking at a picture of Chris and Kate.
"Who's this?" Scott asked.
"That's my dad's sister, Kate," Allison answered.
From 1.04 "Magic Bullet", in the road, Kate cocked the rifle, looking around. "Come on!" She fired the gun. "Come on!"
From 1.07 "Night School", outside of BHHS, Stacie, Stiles, Scott and Ari were talking.
"It wants us in its pack," Scott told them, sighing, looking away to the deputy, waiting for him to be out of earshot. "But I think we have to get rid of our old pack."
"What do you mean?" Stacie asked. "What old pack?"
Scott answered slowly first. "Allison."
"Jackson," Ari went on. She hesitated for a second. "Lydia."
Scott looked at Stacie and Stiles. "Both of you."
Stiles and Stacie realized.
Stiles turned his head away, slowly looked at Ari and Scott. "The Alpha doesn't wanna kill us."
Ari slowly took in a deep breath.
Scott turned away.
Ari hesitated, looking down guiltily. "It wants us to do it."
Scott and Allison were talking.
"Right now, I don't--I don't feel like I can trust you," Allison told him.
Allison turned away from him, walking away from him with tears in her eyes.
Scott was left alone, standing there, his gaze following her in heartbreak.

Day One
Night - Woods
(Song:) Devil's Land - Apple Horse
Stiles and Scott walked alone.
"Where are we going?" Scott asked.
"You'll see," Stiles told him.
"'Cause we really shouldn't be out here," Scott told him. "My mom is in a constant state of freak-out from what happened at the school."
"Well, your mom isn't the Sheriff, okay?" Stiles asked, turning to face him. "There's no comparison, trust me. Thing is, he won't even let his little girl out of his sight when all she wants to do is get out of sight."
"Can you at least just tell me what we're doing out here?" Scott asked.
"Yes," Stiles answered. "When your best friend gets dumped--"
"I didn't get dumped," Scott told him. "We're taking a break."
"All right, well, when your best friend gets told by his girlfriend that they're taking a break..." Stiles trailed off, turning to face him and making them both stop walking, holding up a bottle of Jack Daniels with a smile. "You get your best friend drunk."

Later
(Song;) December Sunset - LexiconDon
Stiles placed the half-full bottle of Jack down on the concrete, lying down on the ground. "Dude, you know, she's just one--one girl." Scott was sitting on a rock next to him, looking down at him. "You know, there are so many--there are so many other girls in the sea."
"Fish in the sea," Scott corrected.
"Fish?" Stiles repeated. "Why are you talking about fish? I'm talking about girls. I love girls. I love them. I love especially ones with strawberry blonde hair, green eyes, '5"3... Definitely not Ari, though. She has red hair and blue eyes. She is also one of the most inhuman woman that are probably on Earth. You know, other than Tara. But the strawberry blonde I was talking about..."
"Is Lydia?" Scott asked.
"Yeah, exactly," Stiles answered, looking up to him. "Hey, how did you know I was talking about--about--?" He smiled drunkenly. "What was I talking about?" Scott didn't answer. "Hey, you're not happy." Stiles started to sit up, reaching for the bottle. "Take a drink!"
"I don't want any more," Scott told him.
Stiles put the bottle back down, laying down, looking up at Scott. "You're not drunk?"
"I'm not anything," Scott answered.
"Hey, maybe it's like--maybe it's like not needing your inhaler anymore, you know?" Stiles asked. "Maybe you can't get drunk as a wolf." Scott looked down at him. "Am I drunk?"
Scott looked away. "You're wasted."
Stiles smiled, raising his hand in the air. "Yeah!" Scott didn't respond. Stiles sighed, laying his arm back down to the ground. "Oh, come on, dude. I know it feels bad. I know it hurts. I know. Well, I don't know. But I know this. I know that as much as being broken up hurts, being alone is way worse." Scott frowned in confusion, looking down at Stiles. Stiles closed his eyes, smiling and chuckling. "That didn't make any sense." He opened his eyes, chuckling. Scott looked away. "I need a drink."
Stiles sat up, reaching for the bottle.
A hand grabbed it before he did, taking it away.
(Song Ends)
Scott and Stiles looked up to two men.
"Well, look at the two little bitches getting their drink on," Man 1 told them.
"Give it back," Scott told him.
"What's that, little man?" Man 1 asked.
"I think he wants a drink," Man 2 told him.
"I want the bottle," Scott told them coldly.
"Scott, maybe we should just go," Stiles told him.
Scott never took his eyes away from the two men. "You brought me here to get drunk, Stiles. I'm not drunk yet." Man 1 scoffed, taking a drink of the bottle. Scott stood, walking toward them. "Give me the bottle." Man 1 smirked tauntingly, shaking his head. Scott glared at him, his eyes glowing gold. Man 1 blinked in surprise. Scott's voice was deep, almost monstrous the next time he spoke. "Give me the bottle of Jack."
Scott's hand, behind his back, started to grow claws.
Stiles looked from his clawed hand up to Scott. "Scott?"
Man 1 held the bottle out to Scott.
Scott snatched it out of his hand, blinking. His eyes were no longer glowing. He threw the bottle past both of the men, into a tree, making it shatter.

Elsewhere
Scott was leading the way back toward Stiles' Jeep.
Stiles was following him. "Okay, please tell me that was because of the break-up. Or 'cause tomorrow's the full moon?" Scott didn't answer, opening the passenger side door for Stiles. Stiles stood in the door, looking at Scott. "Going home now, yeah?"
Scott nodded.
Stiles fell back into the Jeep.
Scott looked away, behind him, toward the woods.
¤•¤°¤•¤
Elsewhere
The men were still walking through, alone.
"How about we just go?" Man 2 asked.
"How about you just shut up?" Man 1 asked, taking a cigarette from behind his ear and lighting it up.
"Come on, man, I'm freezing my junk off out here," Man 2 told him, walking ahead of him, not looking in his direction. Man 1 took the cigarette out of his mouth, exhaling the smoke. He was suddenly pulled out of view forcefully. Man 2 looked behind him, but he was no where in sight. he looked around, breathing heavily, backing away. He turned around. The Alpha's clawed hand grabbed his ankle, pulling it from beneath him, making him scream and fall. "Help!" The Alpha growled, dragging him across the ground. "Help, please! Help me! Somebody help me! Help me! Please, God, help me!" The Alpha pulled him up from the ground, dangling him in the air by his ankle, making him scream. "Please! No! No, no, no, please!" Man 2 looked behind him toward the fire barrel, seeing the barrel of fire upside down. "No! Please, no! No! No, no, no, no! No, no, no, no! No!"
The Alpha let Man 2 fall into the barrel of fire, letting him burn alive.
There were no sounds now. Just pure quietness in the dark of the night as the Alpha looking up to the moon that was a night away from being completely full.

Day Two
Morning - McCall House - Scott's Room
(Song:) Dexter by Lost in Kostko
Scott's alarm clock turned to 7:00, the radio turning on to wake him up.
Scott glared at it as he opened his eyes.
Male Announcer: (on radio) "--Beautiful Monday morning. Beacon Hills High School is back open after being closed on Thursday and Friday."
Scott covered his head with his blanket.
Male Announcer: (on radio)"Police search for alleged killers Derek and Tara Hale--"
Melissa walked toward the alarm, hitting snooze and shutting it off. "We should probably set this to buzzer." She sighed, kneeling to the floor, looking worriedly at Scott. She pulled the blanket back off his head. "You alive in there?"
"No," Scott told her.
Melissa tilted her head. "Not ready to go back to school?"
"No," Scott answered.
"Wanna stay home another day?" Melissa asked.
"No," Scott answered.
"Want a brand new car?" Melissa asked. Scott looked at her with a little shock. Melissa mocked a gasp, shaking her head teasingly. "Me, too." Scott pushed his blanket off, sitting up. "This isn't just about what happened at the school, right?" Scott stood, walking past her. Melissa stood, turning after him. "I mean, it's about what's her name. Do you want to talk about it?"
"Not with you," Scott answered rudely, looking at her.
Melissa looked to the side. "Hey, I've been through a few breakups myself, you know, I mean, disastrous ones, actually."
Scott looked into his bathroom. "I don't care about your breakups, Mom." He looked back at her. "I'm gonna get her back."
Scott shut his bathroom door.
Melissa turned her head to the side with a sigh to her son's attitude.

On the Road - Lydia's Car
(Song:) Shangri-La by YACHT
Lydia was driving.
Ari was in the passenger seat, looking out of the window, seemingly having the same bad attitude that Scott had had since the previous night.
"What exactly did Derek do to your motorcycle?" Lydia asked. "Or was it Tara?"
Ari shook her head. "You don't want to know."
"You know, you were so edgy when it came to that thing," Lydia told her. "So what happened when you got home after what happened? Did your parents give you even a passing glance? I mean, I know Aunt Macey would've been at the hospital that night, but what about Uncle Nate?"
"I don't wanna talk about it, Lydia," Ari told her in annoyance.
"Fine," Lydia told her. "How about we talk about this?"
¤•¤°¤•¤
Beacon Hills High School - Parking Lot
Lydia's car pulled into the parking lot, taking a parking spot.
¤•¤°¤•¤
Lydia's Car
Lydia looked at Ari. "What you did the other night was incredibly stupid. Why did you do it?" Ari tried to open her car door. Lydia hit the button to lock her door. Ari looked at Lydia in severe annoyance, and even a little anger. "Answer the question." Ari didn't answer. Lydia sighed. "Ari, you're not leaving this car until you give me an answer to why you left us in that classroom, not knowing if you were ever gonna come back."
Ari exhaled, sighing, looking away. "I was trying to protect you." She looked at Lydia. "I've lost too much already. I couldn't lose you, too." Lydia smiled a small, surprised smile, touched. Ari looked at Lydia, tilting her head. "Can I get out of the car now, please?"
Lydia smiled, unlocking the door.
Ari opened the door, getting out and closing the door, behind her.
Lydia looked after her with a small smile. She looked into the review mirror, wiping away excess lip gloss from her bottom lip before she opened her own car door.
¤•¤°¤•¤
Outside
Ari and Lydia walked toward the entrance of the school, pass all of the cars that were dropping off students or students that were parking in the student parking lot.
The Argent SUV was one of the cars that was dropping off a student.
¤•¤°¤•¤
Argent SUV
Chris was driving.
Kate was in the passenger seat.
Allison was in the backseat.
Allison tried to open her door only to find it locked. She sighed with annoyance, looking up to Chris. "Dad, if you're going to insist on driving me to school, you at least have to let me out of the car."
Chris looked at the Deputy car in a parking space in front of them, a Deputy standing next to it as two students walked by. He looked up to the tape up window of the chemistry room, caution tape covering the white tape. He looked at Kate, taking a deep breath. "Kate, what's your opinion on home schooling?"
"Mm, well, you know, I'm more of a learning-by-doing kind of girl," Kate told him.
Allison smiled bitterly. "What's your opinion of over-protective dads who keep ruining their daughter's lives?" Kate looked back at Allison. She looked at Chris. She looked at Allison with a small smile before reaching across Chris to the controls on his side of the car, hitting the button to unlock Allison's door. She smiled widely at Chris as she sat back again. Chris tilted his head at Kate. Allison looked smugly at Chris. She looked at Kate. "Thank you."
"You're welcome," Kate told her. Allison opened her door, getting out, closing it, walking toward the school. Kate looked toward Chris. "So, Chris--"
Chris pointed at her. "Don't. Just--Your look communicates it perfectly. Yes, I underestimated the danger. Yes, we should've acted sooner. Yes, I should've listened to you." Chris looked away. He looked back at her. "Anything else? Or does that cover it?"
Kate gave him a smug but innocent look, looking at the gas meter. "All I was going to say is you need to stop and get some gas."
Kate raised her eyebrows and pursed her lips.
Chris looked from her to the gas meter. The dial pointed to the quarter before the E. He looked at Kate before starting the car and driving away.

Beacon Hills High School - Hallway
The school bell rang.
Allison and Lydia were walking down the hallway through the milling around students.
"It's just weird," Allison admitted. "Everybody's talking about what happened the other night, and nobody knows it was us."
Lydia smiled smugly. "Thank you, for the protection of minors."
"Lydia, do you think I made the wrong decision?" Allison asked.
Lydia looked down at Allison's outfit. "About that jacket with that dress? Absolutely."
Allison smiled, looking at her. "You know what I mean."
"Hello?" Lydia asked. "Scott locked us in a classroom and left us for dead. He's lucky we're not pressing charges. Or making him pay for our therapy bills."
"So what's Ari's excuse?" Allison asked.
Lydia looked at Allison. "I know you wouldn't understand this... Hell, even I don't even understand this, but... Ari told me why she left in the first place. It was so she wouldn't lose another person she cares about."
"Is this about her twin sister?" Allison asked. "Your cousin?"
Lydia nodded. "Mm-hmm."
They stopped at Allison's locker, looking at Ari's locker two lockers away.
Allison turned to face Lydia. "What's the story behind that, anyway, if you don't mind me by asking?"
"Well..." Lydia trailed off. "Adriana and Ari had this whole group they would hang out with. They were all best friends. Stacie was apart of it. They were all with Adri when she was taken. After that, the trauma was so bad that they all just... broke apart."
Allison nodded understandingly, opening her locker. "That's why you wanted my help to get Ari and Stacie to be best friends again."
Lydia nodded. "Yep. It's long past for Ari to break free from her reputation of a fake badass so she would get left alone."
Allison smiled, pulling her books out of her locker and closing it, locking it, both chuckling as they walked away.

Hallway 2
Stiles and Stacie were sitting together in the hall outside of the principal's office.
Sheriff was walking out of the office with another officer and then two men in suits. "We're watching their family's house. Maybe they'll wind up there." Stiles and Stacie stood. Sheriff saw them, looking back at the men he had been talking to. "Give me a second." He walked toward Stiles and Stacie. "Don't you two have a test to get to?"
"What's going on?" Stiles asked. "Did you find Tara and Derek?"
"I'm working on it," Sheriff answered. "You guys go take your test."
"All right, Dad listen to us--" Stiles started.
"Go," Sheriff told them.
"This is important," Stacie told him. "You have to be careful tonight, okay? Especially tonight."
"Stacie, I'm always careful," Sheriff told her.
"Dad, you've never dealt with kind.of thing before, okay?" Stiles asked. "At least not like this."
"I know, which is why I brought in people who have," Sheriff told them. He nodded over to the deputy and two men in suits. "State detective. Go take your test."
Stacie started to open her mouth to argue.
Sheriff shook his head before she had a chance to speak.
Stiles let out a sigh, nodding for them to go on ahead.

Classroom
(Song:) Telephonic - The Sea of Cortez
Stacie sat behind Ari.
Stiles sat next to Stacie.
Scott walked into the room. He saw Allison sitting down at her desk.
Allison saw him, looking down at the booklet on the desk.
Scott walked toward her, standing in front of her. "Allison--"
Harris stood behind Scott. "Mr. McCall." He leaned forward so Scott would see his face. "Please take a seat." Scott walked toward Stiles, Stacie and Ari. He sat next to Ari, in front of Stiles. "You have 45 minutes to complete the test. 25% of your grade can be earned right now, simply by writing your name on the cover of the blue book." Ari and Stacie wrote their names at the same time. "However, as happens every year, one of you will inexplicably fail to put your name on the cover, and I'll be left yet again questioning my decision to ever become a teacher." Stiles looked up with determination, letting his hand fall to the desk, writing his name. "So let's get the disappointment over with." Ari rolled her eyes, shaking her head slightly. Harris held up the timer, clicking it. "Begin."
Ari looked down and read the first question:
1. An increase in imports of consumer goods is most likely to have been caused by:
A. Fall in the exchange rate
B. Rise in household of saving
C. Rise in the household of saving
D. Fall in unemployment
Ari circled 'C'.
Scott looked up at Allison. He sighed, looking down at his test, reading the question. Which one of the following states...
Scott sighed, looking up in anxiety.
Stacie put her pencil between her teeth, tapping her foot against the floor.
Scott and Ari turned their heads toward her, looking down at her leg. They could hear it worse than before.
A student was using their pencil eraser, erasing an answer.
Scott and Ari looked toward them. They could hear it worse than before.
A student was clicking their pen annoyingly.
Scott and Ari looked toward them. They could hear it worse than before.
Scott blinked heavily.
Ari looked down at the next question on her test.
2. Your first full moon is tonight. When the moon is full, will you kill:
A. All of your friends?
B. Most of your friends?
C. None of your friends?
D. Your whole family?
Ari blinked, trying to focus.
(Song Ends)
When she looked down again, it was normal again.
2. Which one of the following statements about prize and...
Ari blinked.
Scott looked down at the next question on his test.
2. Why would a girl that pretty go out with a loser like you?
Scott looked up to Allison nervously.
Allison looked back at him before looking away.
When he looked down again, it was normal again.
Scott rubbed his eyes.
Ari looked down to the next question.
3. Will you be under control?
A. Yes.
B. No.
C. Maybe.
D. You don't know.
Ari started to breathe heavier, looking up.
Scott looked at Ari in confusion.
Ari looked at him, holding her head in her hands.
Scott looked down to read the next question.
3. When the moon is full tonight, will you kill:
A. all of your friends?
B. some of your friends?
C. most of your friends?
D. none of the above
Scott and Ari both looked around in anxiety.
A student coughed into his fist.
The student with the pen was still clicking the pen.
A student's phone was vibrating against their desk.
A student was drumming their fingers against their desk.
Stacie was still bouncing her foot against the floor.
Ari put down her pencil, grabbing her bag, standing up, running for the door.
"Miss Martin?" Harris called. Scott looked tempted to follow. After hearing a student pop a bubblegum bubble, he stood, grabbing his bag and running for the door. "Mr. McCall!" Stacie and Stiles exchanged a look. Stacie grabbed her bag, stood and ran for the door. "Miss Stilinski!" Stiles grabbed his bag, standing and running for the door. Harris stood, taking a step toward the door. "Mr. Stilinski!"
Allison looked after them in confused guilt.

Hallway
Scott and Ari had disappeared from the hall by the time Stiles and Stacie got there.
They walked forward, Stiles picking up Scott's backpack.
"Ari?" Stacie called. "Scott?"
"Scott?" Stiles asked. "Ari?" He slowly took his phone out, dialing Scott's phone. He looked at Stacie, whispering. "Call her."
"I don't have my phone," Stacie whispered. "It's in my track bag, and Dad impounded it 'cause it had blood on it, remember?"
"Then look for her," Stiles told her.
Stacie nodded.
Scott's phone began to ring, signaling where he was.
Stiles followed the trail.
Stacie started to walk down the hall, looking around. "Ari?"

Stiles walked toward the locker room, hearing running water and Scott's phone. Scott's phone beeped three times as Stiles' call went to voicemail.

Stiles walked through the door slowly, toward the showers. He looked behind him toward the door.
Other than the running water, there was no sound. Nothing. Eerie.
Stiles slowly walked toward the showers, lowering his hand to his side.

Hallway
Stacie slowly walked down the hall. She stopped next to a classroom, looking inside. "Ari?"
Stacie didn't see her, so she walked forward. She continued to walk forward. She turned around, looking behind her. Not seeing Ari, she turned back around, starting to walk forward again with a sigh.

(Song:) Þú Ert Jörðin - Ólafur Arnalds
Stiles was still walking toward the showers. He finally looked around the corner to see Scott standing underneath the running water of a cool shower to calm himself down, shirtless. He sighed, looking away, then back.
Scott turned off the shower, turning to Stiles, breathing heavily. "Stiles, I can't--"
"What's happening?" Stiles asked. "Are you changing?"
"No," Scott answered. "No, I can't breathe."
Stiles reached into his back pocket of his back, unzipping it, taking out an inhaler, holding it toward Scott. "Here, use this." Scott looked at him in confusion. "Come on, do it."
Scott finally took it, taking a puff, breathing deeply. After a few seconds, he seemed completely fine. He looked up to Stiles in confusion. "I was having an asthma attack?"
"No, you were having a panic attack," Stiles answered. "But thinking you were having an asthma attack actually stopped the panic attack." He looked up at the ceiling, singing the next word half-heartedly. "Irony."
"How did you know to do that?" Scott asked.
"Stacie and I used to get them after our mom died," Stiles answered. "Not fun, huh?"
Scott looked down, shaking his head. "I looked at her, and it was like someone hit me in the ribs with a hammer."
"Yeah, it's called heartbreak," Stiles told him. "About two billion songs written about it."
"I can't stop thinking about her," Scott told him.
"Well, you could think about this: Her dad's a Werewolf hunter, and you're a Werewolf, so it was bound to become an issue," Stiles told him. Scott gave him a serious look. "That wasn't helpful. Dude, I mean, yeah, you got dumped, and it's supposed to suck."
"No, that's not it," Scott told him. "It was like I could feel everything in the room, everyone else's emotions. And Ari... she's freaking out too. I could feel it."
"It's got to be the full moon, then," Stiles told him, gesturing to him. "So I'll lock you up in your room and Stacie will lock Ari up in her room later just like we planned. That way, the Alpha, who is your boss, can't get to you, either."
Scott looked to the side, pushing away from the wall in confusion. "Where are Stacie and Ari?"

Hallway
Stacie was still looking for Ari, looking down the hall around the corner. She sighed, walking forward, her arms swinging at her sides.
Scott, completely clothed and mostly dry, and Stiles rejoined her.
"You find her?" Stiles asked.
Stacie shook her head. "It's like she disappeared."
Scott put a finger to his lips, telling them to be quiet, his voice barely audible. "I can hear her breathing. Keep talking."
Stacie nodded, playing it off. "It's her first full moon. She can't control it any better than you can. She doesn't know how to, and neither do you."
Scott led them down the next hallway, around a corner. "Where is she?"
"We don't know," Stiles told him. "You're the ones with the hyped-up hearing."
Scott looked around in confusion. "I--I can't hear her."
"What do you mean, 'I can't hear her'?" Stiles asked. "You said she was in this hallway."
"Yeah, I know that," Scott stated. "I'm saying either she left or--"
"Or she knows we're looking and is hiding and getting crafty about it," Stacie finished. She laughed sarcastically, calling out. "I'm pretty crafty too, Ari."
Stacie tilted her head at Stiles, holding out her hand.
Stiles sighed, taking his phone out of his pocket, handing it to Stacie.
Stacie smiled, dialing the number.
A bubbly ringtone came from the girls' bathroom.
Stacie tilted her head smugly, walking toward the door.
Scott and Stiles exchanged a look, starting to follow.
Stacie pushed open the door, turning back to Scott and Stiles. "Uh-uh, guys, no boys allowed. That's why it's called the girls' bathroom."
Scott and Stiles tilted their heads at her with seriously? looks.
Stacie smiled, closing the door in their faces.

Girls' Bathroom
Stacie turned away from the bathroom door, looking ahead of her.
Ari was leaning against the sink.
"Come on, Ari," Stacie told her.
"I'm good," Ari told her unconvincingly, take several deep breaths.
"Ari," Stacie told her.
Ari looked into her reflection in the mirror in front of her angrily, trying to control it. "Call me that again, you'll be swallowing your own teeth."

Ari took several more deep breaths, looking up at Stacie's reflection behind her.

"Go away," Ari told her.
"I'm not going away," Stacie told her. "I'm staying, and I'm helping."
"I don't want your help," Ari told her.
Stacie tilted her head. "Well, too bad. You got it." Ari faced her with two deep breaths, having a hard time breathing, panicking. Stacie looked up at the ceiling. "Stiles?"

Stiles tilted his head up in curiosity. "Yeah?"
"Got your in--" Stacie started.
Scott rolled his eyes, pushing open the door and walking in abruptly.
"Wait, you're not going--?" Stiles cut himself off. Scott walked in further. "Ah, that's just great."
Stiles followed Scott inside.

Scott and Stiles walked toward Stacie and Ari.
Ari turned to face them. "You shouldn't be in here."
Scott and Stacie looked at Stiles impatiently.
Stiles looked around. "I can't believe I've never been in here before."
"Stiles!" Stacie told him. "Inhaler."
"Oh, right," Stiles told them, taking it from his bag, tossing it to Ari. Ari caught it, looking up at them knowingly, bringing it up to her lips and taking a puff. Scott, Stiles and Stacie exchanged a look in confusion. Ari was completely fine a second later. "And you just did what we said without asking why? Just like that?"
"I know why," Ari told them. "I knew I was having a panic attack, and I knew that convincing myself that it was an asthma attack would make it stop."
"Wow, you sure are a whole lot smarter than you pretend to be," Stiles told her.
Ari looked to the side. "Is that supposed to be a compliment?"
Stiles hesitated, looking up awkwardly. "Uh..."
Stacie rolled her eyes, looking at Ari. "It's your first full moon, and you're scared about what you're gonna do."
Ari shook her head. "I'm not just scared of what I'm gonna do. I'm scared that I'm gonna kill someone."

Argent House - Garage
Kate had a gun in her hand, walking toward Chris and the two men in suits who had pretended to be with the state authorities at the school with Sheriff.
"So, what, another night of kicking through leaves in the woods?" Kate asked.
"I prefer to think of it as another night trying to keep innocent people from being killed," Chris told her. Kate aimed her gun forward, pointing toward the direction she had just come from, away from everyone else. "A list which now includes my daughter."
"How do we know it won't try going after her again?" the false detective asked.
"It won't go after Allison," Kate told him, looking down at the gun in her hands.
"It won't have any target at all, not on a full moon," Chris told him.
"How come?" the false detective asked.
"An Alpha is like any other Werewolf on a full moon," Chris told him. "It struggles under its sway, which means tonight is our best chance to catch it, when it's unfocused."
Chris pointed the tip of a dagger at a specific spot on the map on the table in front of them.
"Yeah, but what if it has a reason to stay focused?" Kate asked.
Chris looked at her. "Oh, do you know something we don't?"
"I just don't like surprises," Kate told him. "But you're the expert, so you tell me."
"What about Derek and Tara?" the young hunter asked.
"They're smarter than that," Kate told him. "They won't be out tonight." She tilted her head. "There's cops everywhere."
"And if for some reason, they are--" Chris started.
Victoria walked in, having a plate of cookies in her hand, her voice cold as ice, hard as steel. "If they are..." Everyone looked at her. "You find them, you kill them, you cut them in half." A beat of silence passed. Victoria gave them a smile, completely normal in a second's notice. "Anybody want a cookie?"

Beacon Hills High School - Cafeteria
(Song:) Garden Grown - Our Broken Garden
Allison sat alone at a table, taking a bite of a mozzarella stick.
Jackson sat next to her.
Allison looked up, smiling, mozzarella sauce on the corner of her lip.
"Oh, uh, you got something on your..." Jackson trailed off. "Let me."
Jackson carefully reached forward, using his thumb to wipe the sauce away, licking it off of his thumb.
Allison chuckled. "Thanks."
"Yeah," Jackson told him.
Allison looked at Jackson. "You want the bite?"
Jackson looked at Allison in surprise. "What?"
Allison held up her mozzarella stick. "Do you want a bite?"
Jackson closed his eyes and shook his head in a barely noticeable movement. "Oh." His hand rubbed the back of his neck absentmindedly. "No, thanks."
Allison nodded understandingly, sympathetically. "Are you doing okay? I mean..." She looked around, looking back at him. "Since the other night?"
"Better than I thought I would be," Jackson answered. "You still thinking about everything that happened?"
Allison looked away. She looked back at him, tilting her head. "Mostly about Scott."

Hallway
Scott sat against the wall next to the wall of windows, a tray of food next to him. He was listening to Allison and Jackson.
"I haven't talked to him," Allison told him.
"Probably a good idea," Jackson told her.
Scott tilted his head back against the wall with a sigh.

Boys' Locker Room
The lacrosse team was getting ready for their practice.
Coach walked out of his office, blowing his whistle. "All right, geniuses. Listen up." Most of the team went to stand around Coach. Scott and Stiles were still sitting on a bench. "Due to the recent pink eye epidemic--thank you, Greenburg--the following people have made first line on a probationary basis, emphasis on the word 'probationary'." Stiles looked from Coach to Scott back to Coach, looking hopeful. "Rodriguez." The players standing around Rodriguez congratulated him with shoulder pats and fist bumps. Coach looked back at him. "Welcome to first line. Taylor, and, uh..." Stiles held his fist ready in a victory gesture, sitting forward expectantly. Coach looked down at his paper. "Oh, for the love of crap. I can't even read my own writing. What is... What is than, an 'S'?" Stiles sat forward, on the edge of victory. "Is that a... No, no, that's not an 'S'." Stiles sat back with disappointment. "That's a--that's a--That's a 'B'. It's definitely a 'B'. Uh, Rodriguez, Taylor, and, uh, Bilinski." Stiles looked up with a look of shocked happiness. He stood, cheering loudly, whooping, raising both of his arms in the air victoriously. A player, Danny and Jackson were each annoyed with his reaction. Danny rolled his eyes. Jackson had a look that said are you kidding me? Stiles was still laughing, looking over his shoulder, but he was calmer now. "Bilinski!"
"Yes?" Stiles asked.
"Shut up!" Coach told him.
The lacrosse player, Danny and Jackson smiled, laughing.
"Yes, sir," Stiles told him, sitting back down.
Scott looked at him. "Stiles."
Stiles looked at him. "It's Biles. Call me Biles, or I swear to God I will kill you."
Stiles looked back toward Coach.
"Another thing," Coach told them. "From here on out, immediately, we're switching to co-captains. Congratulations, McCall."
Jackson looked toward Coach in shocked jealousy.
Scott looked up in shock, but his reaction was almost numb. Stiles looked at Scott in shocked happiness.
Jackson took a step toward Coach. "What?"
"What do you mean, 'what'?" Coach asked. "Jackson, this takes nothing away from you." Stiles smiled, repeatedly patting Scott's shoulder, looking back toward the others. "This is about combining separate strengths into one unit. This is about taking your unit, McCall's unit, we're making one big unit. McCall, it's you and Jackson now." Jackson looked at Scott with angry jealousy. "Everybody else... Asses on the field." Coach blew his whistle. "Asses on the field!"
Most of the team started to walk toward the exit.
Scott and Stiles were walking toward the exit.
Stiles followed Scott. "Dude, can you believe this? You're a captain. I'm first line. I'm first freaking line!"
They walked past the lacrosse player, Jackson and Danny at Danny's locker.
The lacrosse player and Jackson were looking after them.
The lacrosse player put a hand on Jackson's shoulder. "Don't think we're gonna let this go. He's not gonna be much of a co-captain in traction."
"Yeah, 'cause it's not like he scores more than everyone else," Danny told them sarcastically, turning to face them.
Jackson looked at Danny. "Oh, is that the opinion of my best friend?"
"The opinion of your best friend is, who the hell cares who's team captain?" Danny asked. He turned to his locker, pulling out his lacrosse stick. "He's a good player." He looked back at Jackson. "And you need to seriously get a grip. Let it go."
Danny walked away.
Jackson watched him go. He looked back forward with a sigh, glaring forward at nothing.

Hallway
Scott and Stiles followed the rest of the team out of the locker room.
Scott adjusted his white jersey, taking his lacrosse stick from Stiles.
Stiles looked at Scott. "Are you not freaking out? I'm freaking out."
"What's the point?" Scott asked. "It's just a stupid title. And I could practically smell the jealousy in there."
"Wait," Stiles told him, putting his hand on Scott's shoulder to stop him, both of them turning to face the other. "You smell jealousy?"
"Yeah, it's like the full moon's turned everything up to ten," Scott told him.
"Can you pick up on stuff, like, I don't know, desire?" Stiles asked, turning his head to look down the hall.
"What do you mean, desire?" Scott asked.
"Like sexual desire," Stiles answered.
"Sexual desire?" Scott repeated.
"Yeah, sexual desire," Stiles answered. "Lust, passion, arousal."
Scott sighed, looking down the hall to Lydia leaning against a door frame, talking to her friend. "From Lydia?"
"What?" Stiles asked. "No. In a general, broad sense, can you determine sexual desire?"
Scott looked from Lydia to Stiles. "From Lydia to you?"
"Fine, yes, from Lydia to me," Stiles answered. "Look, I need to you if I have a chance with this girl, okay? I've been obsessing over her since the third freaking grade."
"Why don't you just ask her?" Scott asked.
"Well, to save myself utterly crushing humiliation," Stiles answered. "Thank you, Scott. Okay? So, please, can you just go up and ask her if she likes me? See if her heartbeat rises, pheromones come out."
"Fine," Scott told him, starting to walk down the hall.
Stiles watched him go. "We--I love you. I love you! You're my best friend in the whole world."
Scott stopped next to the blonde friend and Lydia. "Hey, Lydia? Can we talk for a second?"
The blonde friend waved bye and walked away.
Lydia looked back at Scott. "Of course."
Lydia walked around the corner of the hall.
Scott followed her.

Coach's Office
Lydia led Scott into Coach's office. "Is this about the other night? You needed someone to talk to?"
Lydia turned to face him, leaning against Coach's desk.
"Just I needed to ask you something," Scott told her, closing the door. He walked closer to Lydia, standing next to her. "Do you, uh... Do you know if Allison still likes me?"
Lydia looked disappointed and jealous. "Of course she still likes you."
Lydia looked away.
Scott looked relieved. "Really?"
"She'll always like you," Lydia told him. "As friends." She looked at Scott. "Just friends."
"Just friends?" Scott repeated in disappointment.
Lydia looked over Scott, tilting her head. "If you ask me..." She looked away, pushing away from the desk, walking toward the other side of the office. "Of course, nobody asks me." She turned back to Scott, shaking her head. "She made a big mistake. Ask me how I know that."
"How?" Scott asked.
"Because I know you and Ari locked us in there to protect us," Lydia told him. "Because I know that when a guy risks his life for you, you should be grateful."
(Song:) Do I Wanna Know - Arctic Monkeys
Scott looked up with a dark, seductive look. "Are you grateful?"
Lydia slowly stepped closer to him, looking over him. "I think you'd be pretty surprised at just how grateful I can be."
Lydia trailed her hands from his chest to his head, kissing him deeply, pulling him closer. Scott held her closer as he kissed her back. They continued to kiss heavily. It wasn't about love. Just lust and power.
They both seemed pretty happy with themselves.

"Yeah, she likes you," Scott told him. "In fact, she's totally into you."
Stiles smiled in shocked happiness, looking away.
Scott stared forward toward the field, smirking knowingly.

Field
Number fourteen went around number five and 18, all in red jerseys, throwing the ball toward the goal.
Number 22, a white jersey, caught the ball.
Coach blew the whistle. "Let's go, next!" The next player, number 26, a red jersey, ran forward, taking a ball. "Perfect."
Scott, number 11, in a white jersey, picked up a ball from the ground.
Stiles, number 24, in a red jersey, stood behind him. "Scott, you okay, dude? Look, I know we just got good news and all, but there's still seven hours till the full moon, okay?"
Scott didn't answer.
"Let's go!" Coach told them, blowing his whistle. Scott ran forward. Players 18 and 5 blocked his way to the goal, pushing him to the ground. They head-butted, backing away. From the line, Jackson smiled smugly. Coach laughed, walking toward Scott. "Guess some people don't appreciate your new status, there, McCall." He laughed again, looking toward the line. "Who's next?" He blew his whistle. "Let's go!" Scott put his hands behind his head, pushing himself up from the ground, picking up his lacrosse stick. "You got a problem with that, Bilinski?"
"What?" Stiles asked. "Yeah, no."

Bleachers
Lydia looked at Ari. "So... Why are you hanging out with, Stiles, Stacie and Scott? You were doing it, like, right before the other night, and then, since then..."
Ari narrowed her gaze on Lydia's smeared lip gloss knowingly, but didn't say anything about it, seeming to know that she would get caught and only slightly enjoying the thought of Lydia getting caught cheating on Jackson. "I don't know."
Lydia took in a deep breath. "Why were you at the school the other night, anyway?"
"Got held back for detention on the wrong damn day," Ari told her.
"Since when did you get detention?" Lydia asked. Ari held her hands to her temples, staring forward, annoyed, irritated, and the emotions were growing. "I mean, I know you got your loner bike, bad-girl reputation, but are you starting to take it a little too far?"
"Lydia," Ari told her in a warning tone.
"I mean, why did they get held back too?" Lydia went on, ignoring her.
"Lydia," Ari repeated more forcefully.
"In fact, what was the detention for?" Lydia asked.
Ari's eyes started to glow blue, her voice deep, almost monstrous the next time she spoke. "Lydia, shut up."

Field
Coach looked toward Stiles. "All right, you're up, big boy. Let's go!" Stiles started to walk forward. Scott stood in front of him, pushing him back with his lacrosse stick. "That's it, McCall! That's the spirit! You earn it! Earn it, McCall!"
Scott picked up the lacrosse ball with the lacrosse stick, looking forward. He saw number 5, number 18 and the goalie with red vision. The red vision faded to normal vision.
Stiles took a deep breath, knowing something was wrong.
Jackson frowned.
Coach blew his whistle.
Scott's eyes were glowing gold as he ran forward.
He saw the players in front of him with red vision.
Scott pushed into number 18, making him fall to the ground. He pushed into player 5, making him flip over his shoulder before landing on the ground. He ran toward the goalie, number 6, using his stick to hit his face to get him out of the way, throwing the ball into the goal.
"Danny!" a player called. "Oh, man, Danny!"
Everybody started to run forward toward him, kneeling next to him.
"We didn't hit him that hard," another player told them.
Scott took off his helmet.
"Danny, are you okay?" the first player asked.
Stiles walked toward Scott, still looking at Danny. He looked at Scott. "Dude, what the hell are you doing?"
"He's twice the size of me," Scott defended himself.
The medic ran toward Danny, pushing around the team and the students watching, kneeling next to him.
"Come on, watch out," Coach told everyone.
Stiles was still looking at Scott. "Yeah, but everybody likes Danny." The medic pulled Danny's helmet off. "Now everybody's gonna hate you."
"I don't care," Scott told him rudely, walking away.
Jackson watched him go.
Lydia pushed through the crowd, standing next to Jackson, looking down at Danny. "Is he okay?"
The medic was shining a light into his eyes.
"Yeah," Jackson answered. "It looks like he just has a bloody nose..."
Jackson looked at Lydia's smeared lip stick.
"What?" Lydia asked.
"Your lip stick," Jackson answered.
Lydia looked away, taking out a compact mirror, looking at her reflection. "Oh." She used her finger to wipe the excess away. "Oh, wonder how that happened."
"Yeah," Jackson told her sarcastically. "I wonder."
Lydia smiled a small, innocent smile, putting the mirror away.
Stiles was looking at them. He had heard the whole thing. He turned away with his mouth open in realization, hurt and shock.
Jackson looked toward Ari sitting on the bleachers alone, smirking like he had a devious thought in mind.

Track Field
(Song:) Hook Shot - Wolfgang Gartner
Stacie stepped forward with a sigh. She looked toward a dirty blonde-haired girl with a slightly guilty look, almost nostalgic.
The dirty blonde-haired girl returned the look.
After a second, they both looked away, sighing.
Stacie knelt to the ground, in the track pose, ready to launch forward.
The whistle blew.
Stacie launched from the ground, pushing herself with both legs, running as fast as she could. She was flashing back to 1.07 "Night School", when they had spent the entire night running away from the Alpha in the school, using the thought as motivation for her to run faster than she had ever ran before. She passed everyone on the track field.
In the background, people on the benches or in the bleachers were cheering.
"Go, Stacie!" one called.
"You got this, Nattie!" another called.
The dirty blonde-haired girl Stacie had looked at earlier was in front of the others, running as fast as she could.
Stacie caught up to her, level with her. They exchanged looks, almost smiling. They were level for almost a minute, rounding the curve on the track, running even faster than before as they made the second turn together.
When they made it to the fourth lap, Stacie finally ran ahead of the dirty blonde-haired girl, smiling as she raced forward.
The dirty blonde-haired girl ran after her, running faster than before.
Stacie got to the finish line before the others had.
The dirty blonde-haired girl ran past the line seconds after she had.
Both were breathing heavily as they turned to look at each other, both smiling.

The dirty blonde-haired girl let her smile fade, starting to walk away.
Stacie looked a little hurt, turning after her. "Hey, Natalie." Natalie turned back to her. "Told you I'd be the fastest girl in the world."
Natalie smirked. "Yeah, you wish, Stacie."
Natalie walked away, leaving.
Stacie let the smile fade, looking regretful. She turned to the others as they walked toward her to congratulate her with shoulder pats, fist bumps or hugs. She smiled as she hugged one of them, still breathless, but seemingly okay. She looked up, sighing.

Argent House - Allison's Room
Allison smiled, holding a taser pointed forward.
Kate stood next to her. "Right, now, you can't tell your father about this, because he'll kill me."
"Okay," Allison told her.
"Okay," Kate told her, looking at the teddy bear in the chair in front of them. "Well, what's our hapless victim's name?"
"Mr. Bear," Allison answered.
"You named your teddy bear Mr. Bear?" Kate complained. "That's, like, the worst teddy bear name in the world."
Allison looked to the side. "I was five years old."
"All right, well, just shoot your unimaginatively named bear and put it out of its misery," Kate told her.
Allison smiled, shooting the bear, making the wire spark wildly.
Allison didn't seem happy.
Kate was estatic. "Oh ha ha ha!" She pointed at the bear. "See, now, that's what I'm talking about." She looked at Allison. "See, if you would have had had that the other night, you would have just..." She seemed to finally notice Allison's sad reaction. Allison backed away. "Whoa, wait a minute. I thought you wanted to learn how to do this, sweetie."
Allison sat down on her bed. "I just don't know what happened."
Kate sat next to her. "With Scott?" Allison nodded sadly, looking down. "Aw." Kate hugged Allison. "Listen, my gorgeous, young niece, you're gonna break hearts left and right, okay? And he was lucky to have gotten the tiny, little taste of Allison Argent's world that he got."
"But it just--it felt so right with him," Allison told her. "And then he just started acting so strange, and now I don't know what to believe."
"Well, sweetie, he's a guy," Kate told her. "You can't believe anything."
"It's just the whole thing with Derek and Tara Hale the other night, and Scott saying he didn't know them, but I saw them together," Allison said.
"Whoa, hold on," Kate told her. "Wait, back up. Scott knows Tara and Derek? Alleged killers Tara and Derek? Are they friends?"
"No," Allison told her. "Not really. I mean, at least, that's what he said."
"How about you tell me everything that Scott said about Derek and Tara," Kate told her.
"What do you mean by everything?" Allison asked.
Kate grabbed her arm, pulling her closer. "I mean everything."

Lacrosse Field
Jackson walked toward the bleachers.
Ari was still sitting there.
Jackson nodded for her to follow him, walking between the bleachers.
Ari looked to the side, sighing, standing, walking down the bleacher steps.
Jackson walked around the corner of the bleachers, standing behind them.
Ari followed him. "What's with this? You never talk to me."
"Well..." Jackson trailed off. "I want to talk about the other night."
"Everyone keeps saying that," Ari told him, a little bitterly. "Mostly Allison and Lydia. They won't shut up about it."
"What you and Scott did," Jackson elaborated.
Ari looked up at him. "What about it?"
"Leaving, the way you guys did," Jackson said. "You... I understand."
Ari tilted her head skeptically. "You do?"
"Yeah," Jackson told her, looking over her. "Derek and Tara were gonna kill us and you already had one family member too many taken away from you."
Ari nodded, tilting her head. "Plus, they destroyed my bike."
Jackson laughed once out of surprise. "Plus they destroyed your bike."
"Oh, come on," Ari told him. "You would do the same thing if someone destroyed your Porsche."
Jackson looked to the side as if he was thinking about it, nodding. "Yeah. You're absolutely right. I would."
"Not even mentioning that Scott wouldn't have been able to hurt a girl even if she was trying to kill us," Ari told him. "He might have been okay with hurting Derek, but you know he couldn't have hurt Tara."
"True," Jackson told her. "I just wanted to say thanks. You might have only done it for Lydia--"
"Who's to say I didn't go out there with no weapons of any kind just for Lydia?" Ari asked.
"Oh, you know you didn't go out there with no weapons," Jackson told her. Ari smirked. "I saw you doubling up what you and Lydia made for Scott. The, uh, self-igniting--"
"Molotov cocktail," Ari finished. She raised her eyebrows slightly. "Which didn't work, by the way. You didn't hand Lydia the sulfuric acid."
Jackson nearly let the smirk fade, but he still looked at Ari with a look that said he had a plan of revenge in mind. "Yeah, sorry about that."
Ari shrugged one shoulder. "All's well that ends well."
(Song:) Bad Karma - Ida Maria
Jackson leaned a little closer. "I mean it, though. Grateful."
Jackson eyes trailed over her.
Ari raised her eyebrows. "Really? Just how much?"
"Extremely," Jackson told her, putting one arm next to her on the bleachers.
Ari looked down at his arm with amusement. She looked up at Jackson, her eyes trailing over him. "Prove it."
Jackson smirked. "At least you don't have lipstick to smear."
Ari rolled her eyes, pulling his lacrosse jersey, his lips meeting hers. Jackson deepened the kiss, pulling her closer.
Ari pulled back for a second, turning his head away with one finger. "Answer one question first. You doing this for revenge against Lydia or because you actually care? Because, normally, just the thought of you is revolting. No offense."
"None taken," Jackson told her. "Do you actually need me to answer that?" Ari smirked, her hand tightening around his lacrosse jersey, starting to pull him closer again. "What do you need to get back at Lydia for?"
"Does it matter?" Ari asked.
"Not really," Jackson answered.
"Then shut up and kiss me," Ari told him.
Jackson smirked, kissing her again, pulling her closer. Ari deepened the kiss, smiling a little, her back against the bleachers.
It wasn't about love. It was about revenge.
And they both seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Stiles was in the driver's seat.
Stacie was in the passenger seat, holding a bag of chains and starting to get out.
Stiles grabbed her arm. "Wait, Stace. If she doesn't let you use those, use these."
Stiles pulled out a pair of police handcuffs.
Stacie tilted her head. "Really?"
"Well, it's either here and helping Ari or coming with me to Scott's so I can torture his ass," Stiles told her.
Stacie gave him a confused, amused smile. "What do you have to torture him for?"
"He, uh..." Stiles trailed off. He shook his head. "Nothing."
"What'd he do?" Stacie asked.
"What makes you think he didn't anything?" Stiles asked.
"'Cause you're a bad liar," Stacie answered.
"Right," Stiles told her sarcastically. "Well..." He sighed. "He made out with Lydia."
"Lydia?" Stacie repeated, laughing. "Are you serious?"
"No, I'm joking," Stiles told her sarcastically. He hit her shoulder. "What the hell do you think?" Stacie raised her hand to hit him back. Stiles raised his arms to stop her. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, please don't."
Stacie smirked. "Okay, well, you go torture your best friend so I can help Ari."
Stacie smiled.
Stiles gave her a sarcastic look.
Stacie grabbed the bag for Ari and the handcuffs, opening the door and stepping out, closing the door.

Ari's House - Outside
Stacie walked toward the front door.
Stiles' Jeep drove away.
Stacie looked back at the driveway. She sighed, looking back at the front door, knocking.
The door wasn't closed all of the way, opening slightly.
Stacie looked behind her awkwardly, looking back at the door, pushing it the rest of the way open, slowly stepping inside.

Foyer
Stacie walked in.
She heard Ari's voice from further in the house. "Right, and that's why Mom said that you needed to get out by tonight." Stacie closed the door behind her. "Because you can't stand the sight of me because I look exactly like Adriana, and now, you even want to leave. How about you just take your box of stuff and listen to what she says, huh? Take your stuff and go."
She heard Nathan's voice "None of that is true."
Stacie looked around the house in nostalgia. She stopped next to a black end table, looking down at the picture sitting on top. She slowly picked it up, looking at the picture of Heather, Young Stacie, Young Ari, Young Adriana and Young Natalie with a smile.
She heard Ari's voice. "Oh, I doubt that."
Stacie placed the picture back down, walking in the direction the voices came from.

Kitchen
Nathan and Ari were arguing in the kitchen.
There was a box on the island counter. The place looked like Nathan was moving out.
"What's the big secret that's causing all the fights, Dad?" Ari asked. Stacie slowly stepped into the doorway of the kitchen. "Or do you even want to be called 'Dad' since you haven't been a father in over four years?"
Nathan was hurt, but knowing what she was saying was the truth, no matter how hard and cold the truth or Ari was at the moment. He looked away, seeing Stacie standing in the doorway.
Ari followed his gaze.
"Uh, sorry," Stacie told them awkwardly. She used her thumb to point toward the front door. "The door was open, so..."
Ari didn't react.
Nathan nodded slightly. "Not a problem." He picked up his box on the island, looking at Ari. Ari didn't react. "I'll just be taking my box of stuff and listening to what her mother says. I'll just take my stuff and go."
Nathan walked toward Stacie and the door frame.
Stacie took a step to the side to let him through.
Nathan walked past her, out of the kitchen, walking down the hall.
Stacie turned her head to watch him open the door and leave the house, closing the door behind him. She looked at Ari, walking closer. "Wow, Ari."
"He deserved it," Ari replied, turning around.
Ari walked up the stairs.
Stacie sighed, following her.

Melissa pointed down at the key in his hand. "Key!"
"Yeah," Stiles told him, looking at the key. "I had one made, so..."
"That doesn't surprise me," Melissa told him. "It scares me, but it doesn't surprise me." Stiles dropped the bag to the floor. Melissa pointed at it. "What is that?"
"Uh, school project," Stiles told her.
"Mm," Melissa hummed. "Stiles, he's okay, right?"
"Who?" Stiles asked. "Scott? Yeah. Totally."
"He just doesn't talk to me that much anymore, not like he used to," Melissa told him.
"Well, he's had a bit of a rough week," Stiles told her.
"Yeah, yeah, I get it," Melissa told him. "Yeah, um... Okay, uh..." She looked down at her bag over her shoulder, starting to take out her keys. "Be careful tonight."
"You too," Stiles told her.
Melissa looked up. "Full moon."
Stiles looked at her in shock. "What?"
"There's a full moon tonight," Melissa told him. "You should see how the ER gets. Brings out all the nut jobs."
Stiles sighed in relief. "Oh."
"Yeah," Melissa told him.
"Right," Stiles told her.
Melissa walked around him to the door. "You know, it's, um, actually where they came up with the word 'lunatic'."
Melissa patted his shoulder, opening the door, walking out, leaving, closing it behind her.

"Then don't be here," Ari told her, sitting down in a chair. "I'll just lock the doors and go to sleep."
"You seriously want that?" Stacie asked. Ari nodded, tilting her head. Stacie tilted her head. "I don't, because you look like you're about to kill somebody. I don't want you to kill somebody, especially not me."
"Then go home," Ari told her. "I'm fine."
Stacie tsked, leaning down next to the bag. "At least see what Stiles got, okay? All right, I'll leave if you want, but you don't wanna hurt Stiles' feelings, do you?" Ari's cold glance didn't change. "Okay, don't answer that. Even if you don't use them, at least I can tell Stiles I tried."
Ari slowly stood, slowly walking forward, kneeling down across from Stacie, reaching into the bag. She pulled out a brand new shiny chains. "Did you really think I would use these?"
Ari let the chains drop.
Stacie shook her head. "No, not exactly. It's why Stiles told me to do this."
Stacie reached for Ari's wrist quickly, closing one handcuff on it, then used the other to chain her to a leg on her bed frame.
"What the hell are you doing?" Ari asked incredulously, trying to pull her wrist free.
Stacie backed away, standing. "Protecting you from yourself."
"I told you," Ari told her, glaring up at Stacie, trying to pull free. "I don't want your help."
"I told you," Stacie told her, kneeling down next to Ari. "Too bad. You already got it."

McCall House - Scott's Room
Stiles opened the door to Scott's dark, unlit room, putting the bag on the floor, turning on the light and looking up.
Stiles nearly jumped in shocked fear. "Oh, my God!" Scott was sitting in his blue chair next to the window. "Dude. You scared the hell out of me. Your mom said you weren't home yet."
Stiles walked forward, putting the bag down on the floor in front of Scott.
"I came in through the window," Scott told him.
"Okay," Stiles told him, kneeling down to the floor in front of the bag. "Uh, well, let's get this set up. I want you to see what I bought."
"I'm fine," Scott told him coldly. Stiles looked at him. "I'm just gonna lock the door and go to bed early tonight."
"Are you sure about that?" Stiles asked. "'Cause you and Ari both got this kind of serial killer look going on in your eyes, and I'm hoping it's the full moon taking effect, 'cause it's really starting to freak me and Stacie both out."
"I'm fine," Scott told him. "You should go now."
Stiles looked to the side like he wasn't planning on doing as told. "All right." He looked back at Scott. "I'll leave." He started to pick up the bag, but then stopped. "Well, look, would you just at least look in the bag and see what I bought? You know, maybe you use it, maybe you don't. Sound good?"
Scott slowly stood, slowly walking forward, kneeling in front of the bag, across from Stiles. He reached inside the bag and pulled out the shiny, new chains. "You think I'm gonna let you put these on and chain me up like a dog?"
Scott put the chains back in the bag.
"Actually, no," Stiles answered.
Stiles grabbed Scott's wrist quickly, pulling him to a heater furnace, chaining one around the bar and the other around his wrist, standing and backing away.
"What the hell are you doing?" Scott asked incredulously, trying to pull himself free.
"Giving you some payback..." Stiles trailed off. "For making out with Lydia."

Sports' Shop
(Song:) Psychasthenia - William Fitzsimmons
Allison was walking along, looking at a purple bike hanging from the ceiling, spinning the back wheel. She turned her head to look around, walking past the racks of bikes and past two men talking next to them. She stopped next to the compound bow arrows, looking down at the arrow shooter down on the glass case in front of her. She picked it up, turning it over, raising it in front of her and pretending to aim forward.
Jackson was standing a few feet in front of her.
Allison looked up at him, smiling, laughing, closing her eyes, putting the shooter down.
Jackson walked toward her with a confused smile. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh, I was just thinking I might get back into something I haven't done for a while," Allison answered. "What about you?"
"Oh," Jackson told him, holding up a black and red lacrosse helmet. "For Danny." He lowered the helmet. "McCall bashed him pretty hard on the field." Allison looked to the side, pressing her lips together. looking down. "Why do I get the feeling you could use someone to talk to?"
Allison looked up. "Is it that obvious?"
"Maybe 'cause I'm feeling the same way," Jackson told her.
Allison and Jackson looked at each other.

Ari's House - Ari's Room
Ari was laying on the floor, one hand handcuffed to her bed frame and the other propping her head up from the floor. She tried to pull her wrist out, the metal cutting into her skin. She sighed, looking up. "Stacie--"
"I'm not letting you out," Stacie told her.
"Why not?" Ari asked.
"'Cause that murder look we talked about?" Stacie asked. "Yeah, well, that's getting worse. Okay, so, uh, no." Ari sat up, leaning against her bed. "Look, both you and Scott have the murder-y look, but you're a little bit better than he is, but his first time was a lot better than both of yours now."
Ari frowned slightly in confusion. "How?"
"I don't know, he just..." Stacie trailed off. "Wasn't this bad."
"Well, once I find the rule book, I'll let you know," Ari told her sarcastically, her voice still cold.
"Ha," Stacie told her sarcastically. "I'd find it before you could. I'm good at detective crap, okay? I am like Nancy Drew."
"Yeah, okay," Ari told her. "Besides, I need a new teacher anyway. Nobody knows where Derek and Tara are, if they're still alive at all."
Stacie looked down. After a second, she decided to change the subject. "Where's your mom?"
"Hospital," Ari answered. "Night shift."
"Where'd your dad go?" Stacie asked.
"Hell if I know," Ari told her, looking down, tapping her fingers against her knee.
"What were you talking about earlier?" Stacie asked. "Your dad having a secret and your mom saying that he needed to leave?"
"I overheard a fight they had the day I turned," Ari explained. "My mom was saying that he either needed to tell me the secret, or at least let her tell me the secret, or to get the hell out. He decided to get the hell out." She wrapped one arm around her knees while the other was still handcuffed to the bed frame leg, leaning her head back against the mattress. "My mom had been ignoring me for the last four years, and I had no idea why. Now, she's starting to get better. But my dad... he left me out in the cold the second he realized they couldn't turn me into her."
"I'm sure that's just an exagger--" Stacie started in a light voice, trying to keep the mood up.
"It's not, and you know it," Ari told her, rolling her head toward Stacie. "You've seen it."
Stacie sighed. "I'm sorry. About all of this."
Ari didn't answer, looking at Stacie with a cold, slightly curious gaze. "You mean that."
Stacie nodded. "Yeah, I do."
"No one's actually said it to my face before," Ari told her.
"Yeah, well, I'm not most people," Stacie told her.
"Clearly," Ari told her.
Ari still had that murder look, but it wasn't as bad as before.
Ari's phone buzzed. They both looked down at the Caller I.D.
Lydia
Ari sighed, leaning her head back against the bed, looking down at her slit, bleeding wrist caused by the handcuffs. "Please, Stacie. It's starting to hurt."
"I'm sorry, I can't," Stacie told her. She stood up. "I'm thirsty. Are you thirsty? I'm gonna get something to drink."
Stacie walked out of the room.
Ari looked up with a sigh.

McCall House - Scott's Room
Stiles walked back into Scott's room with a bottle of water in one hand. "I brought you some water."
Scott was kneeling to the floor, looking up.
Stiles held up the bottle of water in the air with a smirk. He raised a dog bowl with Scott written across the side with pointy, black letters, pouring the water from the bottle into the bowl. He tossed the empty bottle aside, putting the dog bowl in front of Scott, turning around, starting to leave the room.
Scott threw the dog bowl at Stiles' back, making it fall. "I'm gonna kill you!"
Stiles turned back to him. "You kissed her, Scott, okay? You kissed Lydia. That's, like, the one girl that I've ev--And you know, the past three hours, I've been thinking, it's probably just the full moon, you know, he doesn't even know what he's doing, and tomorrow, he'll be totally back to normal. He probably won't even remember what a complete dumbass he's been. A son of a bitch, a freaking unbelievable piece of crap friend."
"She kissed me," Scott told him.
"What?" Stiles asked.
Scott looked up at Stiles with a smug look. "I didn't kiss her. She kissed me."
Stiles looked away, turning around, walking out of the room.

"Who?" Jackson asked.
"My father," Allison answered. "And it's--it's not like I don't realize we're not exactly the most normal family on the block. I mean, not every teenage girl comes home to a garage full of Glocks and AK-47s."
"But, um..." Jackson trailed off.

Scott growled at her.
Tara jumped in the air, somersaulting through the air, rolling on the ground, turning to face him, still kneeling to the ground.
Scott ran toward her, growling.
Tara pivoted on one foot, making him miss. She turned to face him, holding him still. "Scott, stop!"
Scott ran forward to a tree, turning around, running back to Tara. Tara bent backwards into a half-arch. Scott flew over her head, turning to face her. Tara stood straight, turning to face him in annoyance. Scott ran forward with a roar, slashing toward her. Tara made her head back a little away, making him miss. Scott had swung too hard, making himself turn around. Tara kicked into his back, making him roll further down the hill. Scott turned to face her, running toward her, trying to hit her. Tara ducked, grabbing his other wrist and his leg, swinging him over her head and then onto the ground, looking at him with glowing blue eyes, canines grew, roaring in his face.

Derek caught her leg, pushing so hard it made her twirl in the air horizontally until she fell onto the ground on her stomach. Ari rolled onto her back, putting her hands behind her head, swinging her leg to push herself up onto her feet. She punched Derek in the face, then his stomach. She tried to punch him again. Derek backed away enough, making her miss. Derek jumped up, using both of his legs to kick Ari down the hill behind her.
Ari rolled down the hill, past Tara and Scott.

Derek curled both legs into his chest, jumping down the hill, landing a few feet in front of Ari.
Ari jumped up from the ground, using one leg to twirl and kick him in his head, making him stumble back a little. She slashed toward him.

Stiles and Stacie backed out of the room, starting to turn around and run.
Tara ran forward, roaring, her eyes glowing blue.
Derek shattered through the glass above Stacie, glass sprinkling over her, landing on the floor.
Stacie gasped in pain, sliding underneath the desk for protection against any more of the glass still falling. She looked down at the glass cutting through her jean jacket into her arm between her wrist and elbow. There was a cut on her cheek, bleeding, blood dripping down from her temple, her mouth open in shock, pain and fear.
Derek looked at Stacie underneath the desk.
Stacie looked at Derek, breathing heavily.
Derek had blood dripping from his nose, over his lips.
Stacie took a deep breath, trying to get her breathing under control.
Tara was on her knees, glaring up at a man in front of her. A man's hand gripped her throat as she started to stand, starting to pull her over the floor, walking toward the room where Derek and Stacie were.
Glass crunched underneath the man's feet.
Tara struggled.
Derek looked away, crawling away from Stacie, into a dark, unlit hall way.
The man walked into the room, still holding Tara by the throat, his face still unseen. He stopped in front of the desk Stacie was hiding underneath.
Stacie tried to hold her breath.
