CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX

HALA'S P.O.V

I decided to go do a little shopping with Sean that morning, and to our surprise we weren't bothered at all. I even had second thoughts about all of this, maybe Katrina gave up but I pushed those thoughts away, the last thing I wanted was to get my guard down. I fixed the bags on my shoulder and my wrist, and pulled out the keys to the apartment.

"Hala for the last time, let me hold those for you." Sean said. Being a gentleman he is, the walk out of the store AND back here he kept on telling me to give him the bags. But being stubborn, I didn't let him because he was holding some already.

We didn't buy much, all we bought was clothes and maybe a few things we can use to back us up with the whole Katrina thing.

"No." I said, a proud grin on my face as I opened up the door to the apartment.

I stopped in my tracks once I saw both,  Danielle and Chris arguing about who knows what. Sean came in behind me and slammed the door shut, getting the both of their attentions. Danielle's hair was messy and one of her tank top straps was off her shoulder, and as for Chris, his hair was messy as well and not to mention he was shirtless. I let the bags fall from my hands.

"What's going on?" I asked. The both looked at me with horrified expressions on their face. Oh I wonder what happened.

"Nothing!" They said, rather quicker than needed.

I raised an eyebrow. "Nothing? Then why are you shirtless?" I said as I pointed to Chris.

He shrugged. "It was hot." Sean came up beside me and let the bags fall in front of him as well.

"Then why is the couch a mess?" A smirk already began to grow on his face.

"Vacuuming." Danielle said.

"Where's the vacuum?" He asked. I crossed my arms and smirked.

"So Chris is shirtless, your hair is a mess, your tank top is not even on properly, " I stopped and looked between the two. "Did you guys sl-"

"OH MY GOD, NO!" Danielle screamed as she grabbed an empty water bottle and chucked it at me. I laughed and dodged it.

"You're so nasty!"

Sean laughed. "Then what happened?"

"Fine! We kissed!" I looked at Chris and my jaw dropped open, my eyes growing wide. I was speechless. I never knew they felt that way about each other, I do recall Danielle hating Chris' guts.

"We left you guys home for about an hour expecting you two to hit each other to death, but instead you both kiss each other to death." Sean said. The both of their faces turned a shade of pink as they looked down.

"Maybe slightly more than just a kiss," I pointed at Chris. "Why is the shirt off?" I'm sorry I had to ask again, it was driving me nuts that his shirt was off for no reason at all, not that I was checking him out because I wasn't.

Chris scratched the back of his neck. "Danielle, she uh," he let out a nervous chuckle. "She's an animal!" He exclaimed. I covered my mouth with my hand and tried to hold back the laughter that bubbled up inside me.

"Oh my god." Danielle mumbled, running her hands through her hair, "that's not true."

I shifted uncomfortably. "Let's just drop this before this gets more awkward."

"What did you guys buy?" Chris asked, changing the subject as he took a step towards me. Sean moved slightly in front of me, making me chuckle at his over protectiveness. I bent down and picked up the bags and pull out the hoodies, along with the mask and minor things such as duct tape and flashlights.

"Our plan."

"The plan, and you're starting now?" Chris asked.

I shrugged. "Why not?"

"So you and Sean are breaking up today?" When I think about out it now, we've waited way too long for the plan and it needed to be done now, and as much as I hated what the two of us had to do, I had to suck it up.

"Yes."

******

I slipped on my jacket and grabbed my phone and keys. Well it was time for our big 'break up', all we had to do was some how get Katrina to bring us to her but it was rather harder then it seemed. Sean and I both left the apartment a few moments later, walking a good distance away from each other so we wouldn't look like a couple.

We decided to go to the park, obviously the group was pretty stupid because they chose places like this to 'spy' on the both of us, and to make things easier for us, the park was basically empty today, there were just a few people scattered here and there.

There was a big fountain in the center and was surrounded by stoned floor all around. The meadow was just up ahead. Sean walked a little further ahead of me and I scanned the area until I spotted about two hooded figures behind a bush, meters away from us. And as if on cue I whispered,

"go."

He turned around in almost an instant and pulled a 'frustrated' expression.

"I can't do this anymore."

"Do what?"

"Us. Something is going on with you and Chris, I can just feel it." Oh so were going with that story? I thought we agreed on not bringing back the whole Chris thing. I glared at him, and not a fake glare, a real one.

"Are you kidding me right now? There's nothing going on between us, do I need to slap you to get that in your head?" So I wasn't exactly pretending, I was pretty angry that he brought this in, I meant what I said.

"No. Maybe we should just take a break."

"What? Are you screwing with me?!" I asked in surprise.

"No, but you're screwing Chris," he spat. "So I'm done." And with that he spun back around and walked away. Well played.  I turned around in anger and walked the opposite direction, my phone began to beep so I yanked it out my pocket and looked at the text message. Only two simple words in bold letters were written in the text.

Don't move.

I stopped in my tracks and glanced around the park but no one was here, not even the two figures who were hidden behind the bush. Do I move or...? You're so stupid Hala, why would you move? You need to get to Katrina. Keeping my feet grounded, I turned my head to look behind me and saw that Sean was frozen in his spot as well. He turned and looked at me, a confused expression plastered on his face. He got the text too.

Probably 10 minutes passed by until a black car pulled up in the center of the park. The door swung open and a newly polished heel steps out, Katrina pulls herself out of the car, a smirk playing on her lips. This isn't the red carpet dumbass. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms and she stepped in between Sean and I. Her long blonde hair was straightened, she wore black skinny jeans with black pumps along with a pink tank top and a leather jacket. Wow for once she didn't look that slutty.

"What do we have here?" She asked, her bright red lips forming a smirk.

"You were right." Katrina turned to Sean in surprise and took a step towards him. He began to fiddle with his braclet on his wrist as she got closer, I couldn't help but let out a small laugh. He was getting scared.

"I was right? About what?" She asked. I crossed my arms over my chest and tapped my foot impatiently.

"You know what."

She turned and glared at me before looking back at Sean with a smile. "You were right about Hala," he sighed. "I should of got back together with you when I had the chance." He mumbled. She grabbed Sean by the collar, making him flinch. She pulled him closer so that their faces were inches apart. I bit my lip nervously. Oh god please don't kiss.

"So you want me back?"

Sean glanced past Katrina and looked at me, hesitant about his answer. I took a deep breath before nodding my head slowly. He looked back at Katrina and 'smiled'.

"Yes." He whispered. She took a few steps back, her heels clicking on the pavement.

"Oh my god." She said, slowly clapping her hands.

"FINALLY!  Sean's come back to me and leaves this whore," She pointed to me and glared. "Karma's a bitch." My fist clenched.

"Glad you're happy." I said between my gritted teeth. That's when I heard the sound of a gun being reloaded, Sean's eyes grew big and I froze in my spot. I turned my head slightly to see one of the hooded figures standing next to me, pointing a gun to my head.

"Is this necessary?" I asked, I was terrified to be honest. Sean stepped in.

"No. It's not," he grabbed Katrina's shoulders and looked her directly in the eyes. "Katrina let's just go back to how things were before, before Hala came into the picture. No harm, please." He pleaded.

She was silent for a while but she slowly nodded her head, flicking her wrist at the person to lower their gun. Relief washed over me as the hooded person stepped away from me.

"I'm leaving." I mumbled before spinning on my heel and walking away from the park.

"Oh and Hala?" She called out. Wow congratulations you've actually pronounced my name right. I turned and faced her with a bored look. As soon as I faced them she pulled Sean towards her and pressed her lips against his, I wish I hadn't looked. I looked away in disgust and rushed out of the park without another word.

******

I walked into the apartment angrily and slammed the door shut. I ran my hand through my hair in frustration, I didn't expect her to kiss him in front of me but what I am I thinking? It's Katrina for god sake. Chris ran out from his room with a worried look.

"Hey, everything okay?"

I clenched my fist. "Everything's fine." I said marching over towards him.

"How did-" I cut him off by pressing my lips against his. He stumbled slightly before gaining back his balance as he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. What the hell do you think you're doing Hala? Why am I kissing Chris? I don't know.

What's worst is that it felt...nice.
