CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

HALA'S P.O.V

After Sean and I had our little 'moment', I sent him off to get himself cleaned up from all the cuts and dirt. Even though we we're still in trouble, I was relieved that he escaped and found his way back. I moved over to the dining table and took a seat, laying my head down.

"Tired?" I looked up to see Chris. I placed my head back into my arms.

"You have no idea.." I mumbled.

He chuckled and patted my arm. "Go get some rest." I stood up and smiled at him before heading towards my room.

CHRIS' P.O.V

I layed in bed, staring up at the ceiling. It was 11 at night and everyone was asleep. I turned my head to see the alarm clock change from 11:59 to 12:00, it's was time. I jumped out of bed and pulled the dagger out from underneath the pillow, quietly stepping out of my room. I moved towards Hala's room and walked in, making sure to shut the door behind me.

I stood next to Hala's bed, she lay there on her side sound asleep. I stepped closer but ended up hitting my foot on the night stand, causing a book to fall with a loud thud. I flinched at the loudness and froze as she started to move. She turned around so that she was now lying on her back, but thankfully she was still asleep. Well this is it.

I raised the dagger above my head, about to plunge it into her chest. My eyes trailed up to her face and I suddenly had this urge to pull back. I lowered the dagger quickly and stumbled back.

Get close to Hala then kill her, that was the plan. The voice in my head said. I took a deep breath and raised the dagger over my head once again. I felt tears form in my eyes, what the hell is going on with me? I tossed the dagger behind me and sighed in frustration. I ran my hand through my hair and looked at her sleeping figure. Raising my hand towards her face, I brushed the locks of hair away from her face. 

To be honest, she was the most beautiful girl I've ever layed eyes on. Every time she smiled my heart skipped a beat and every time we touched I got all tingly. I shook the thoughts away, this can't really be happening, I can't be falling for Hala. But then again, I obviously think I am. 

But I'm the bad guy here, I was meant to kill her in the first place. I was never on their side, it was all a set up to make them think I was with them, when in reality I wasn't. Now, I'm just having second thoughts.

I looked back down at her peaceful face, and that's when I decided to do something so surprising even I shocked myself. I leaned down and gently placed my lips onto hers.

I pulled away slowly and opened my eyes in shock. I moved back quickly, grabbing the dagger and rushing out of the room quietly. I leaned against the door and took a deep breath.

"What the hell are you doing to me?" I whispered.

HALA'S P.O.V

I woke up to the sound of loud banging on my door. I groaned and stuffed my face in my pillow.

"Hala wake up!!" I heard Sean say.

"Go away." I mumbled. The door opened and I'm guessing he walked in. He removed the pillow from my head and leaned down to kiss my forehead.

"Wake up."

I shook my head and pulled the covers over me.

"Okay, you asked for it." And the next thing I knew, the covers were pulled off of me and water was thrown.

I screamed and jumped off the bed. Sean hunched over in laughter while I stared at him in shock.

"Y-You're face.." He laughed. 

"Oh you think this is funny?" Sean continued to laugh but as soon as he caught a glimpse of my face, he stopped. I glared at him and that's when he took off.

I chased after him out the room and down the hall. "I'm gonna kill you!" I yelled. He jumped over the couch and then turned around to face me, the both of us now on opposite sides of the furniture. We stared at each other intently then suddenly, a pillow was thrown at my face. I caught the pillow and moved it away from me, only to find that he was gone.

"Damn it!" I said to myself. I turned around and jumped in surprise, seeing him run right at me. He picked me up and threw me over his shoulder, spinning the both of us around.

"Put me down you dumbass!" I giggled. He laughed loudly before finally placing me back on my feet. I chuckled and turned around to walk away but he grabbed my hand and pulled me back towards him, so close that our noses were touching.

"I missed you so much." He said, quietly.

"I missed you too." I smiled before leaning in and placing my lips on his.

"Ahem." Someone said from behind us. The both of us pulled away and turned around to face a tired looking Chris, who was standing there awkwardly, and I swear I saw a look of hurt flash across his face. 

"So um..what's with all the noise at 8 O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING?" He exclaimed. I turned and glared at Sean, did he really wake me up this early in the morning? Sean saw the look on my face and let out a nervous laugh.

"Uh..you know, stuff." 

I crossed my arms. "I can't believe you woke me up so early."  

He pouted. "But I wanted to see you."

"Wh-" Chris was cut off by a loud snorting noise. We all jumped in surprise and turned to look in the living room. There, Danielle was basically hanging off the sofa with her mouth hung open, her hair was a mess and she was slightly drooling. I covered my mouth to prevent myself from laughing.

"Oh my god." Sean snickered.

"That is the most ugliest thing I've ever seen.." Chris said, jokingly. I playfully shoved him and looked back at Danielle. She let out a loud snore and that's when all of us erupted into laughter. She slid off the couch and woke up alarmed.

"What's going on?!" She yelled. All three of us stopped and looked at her, only to fall back into laughter once again. She sat up straight and wiped her face, moving her hair away from her eyes.

"What the hell? Why are you guys up so freakin' early?!" We all looked at each other and shrugged.

Sean suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled me towards my room.

"I needed to talk to Hala anyways!" He said as he pulled me into my room and shut the door behind us.

"WELL KEEP IT PG-13!" Danielle yelled out. Sean laughed and I felt my cheeks heat up. Could she get any more embarrassing? I shook my head and looked up at Sean.

"So what's up?"

His face suddenly turned serious. Well this can't be good. "I wanted to talk to you about Chris." And there it is, should of seen that one coming.

"What about him?"

"Is there anything going on between you two?"

I raised an eyebrow. "No. Why would there be?"

"It's just, ever since I was taken you guys seem...closer."

I stared at him blankly. "Well everything isn't always what it seems."

"Ha-" I cut him off.

"Sean we seriously aren't going to argue over this, are we? I love you and only you and if you don't think that, then you really should go to the doctor and get yourself checked out."

"I'm sorry, my trust issues have become really bad.." He mumbled.

I sighed. "And I don't blame you, we can't trust anyone," I looked him directly into the eyes. "We're going to win this war, and when we take Katrina down all of this will be over."

He grabbed my hand and interlocked our fingers. "Promise me you'll stay safe no matter what."

"You promise first."

He chuckled. "I promise."

I smiled. "I promise."

AUTHOR'S NOTE

I am SO SORRY I have taken so long to update, I've just been so busy with school and whats worst is I have final exams coming up. Which means I'm not going to be updating for a bit.

Basically tomorrow is the last day of school. Friday and Tuesday I have my exams so after June 24th I am OFFICALLY on summer vacation and that means MORE UPDATES :) and the great thing is that I actually have such a good idea for this book and I can't wait to write more. So please bear with me. And for those that are waiting for your trailers I AM REALLY REALLY sorry its been so long, I'm trying to finish :o
