CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

HALA'S P.O.V

I'm awake. I know I am, I'm aware, I can feel and I can hear. I just can't...move. My eyelids are sealed shut and well I can't move any part of my body. I was aware Sean was here earlier, I heard him and felt him. I tried to move but I couldn't so the best thing I was able to do was make a noise. But I guess that didn't do much good.

I don't exactly know where I am or how long I've been out because the last thing I remember is getting thrown up into the air from an explosion. I want to move, I NEED to move, I basically feel dead at the moment. I decided to finally take a deep breath and relax. About 5 minutes later I had finally got my hands moving but my main priority was to open my eyes.

That's when finally, my eyes slowly fluttered open causing me to let out a gasp. I looked around in a panic but calmed down a little once I realized I was in a hospital. What's going on? What happened? I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out. I scrunched up my face, my throat was sore and dry. Are you actually serious right now?

I moved my hands along the side of the bed until I felt some sort of button. I pressed down on it but nothing happened so I began to press it multiple times, when a nurse came rushing in. She stopped in her tracks once her eyes layed on me.

"You're awake!" She said in shock. I gave her a weak smile and nodded. She suddenly ran out of the room. No! Where is she going?! To my relief, she came rushing back in with a glass of water. I smiled, taking the water and drinking it all in one gulp. I closed my eyes and let the cold liquid run down my throat.

"How long have I been asleep?" I asked quietly.

The nurse sighed. "3 months." My eyes widened.

"WH-" Before I could even finish, I started having a coughing fit.

"Honey, take a deep breath and drink more water." The nurse said. I did as she told and calmed down. How could this be? What happened through those 3 months? The first thing that came to mind was Sean.

"Is Sean here? Sean O'Donnell?"

"I'm sorry but not at the moment, I could give him a call if you want." The nurse offered. I smiled and nodded my head quickly. The nurse smiled kindly and got up, leaving the room to go and make the phone call.

Sean where are you?

SEAN'S P.O.V

Chris and I were at the airport waiting for our flight. It was now 5 PM and the flight was leaving at 5:30 PM.

"Flight 34 is now ready for boarding." The announcer said. Chris and I got up and started heading towards the gates, when my phone began to ring.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hi, is this Mr. O'Donnell?" The lady said.

"Yes...? May I ask who this is?"

"This is Hala's nurse." She simply said. I was suddenly alarmed.

"Sean, she is awake and she asked to call you." I hung up the phone and grabbed Chris by the shoulder and pulled him back.

"What?" He asked.

"Hala, she's awake, we have to go back right now!" I said as I began running. Chris followed behind.

"What about the flight?!"

"Forget the flight we'll go tomorrow!" I ran faster and faster. I finally reached the parking lot and ran over to the car. I jumped in with Chris and started the car as fast as I could. In seconds, I pressed down on the pedal hard and sped off to the hospital.

I ran towards Hala's room, not bothering to stop by the front desk. Once I reached the room I took a deep breath and opened the door. I saw her. The color of her skin was back to normal and the bags under her eyes were gone. I walked closer to the bed and took her hand in mine.

"Hala...?" I whispered. Her eyes suddenly fluttered open, she looked around the room until her eyes landed on me. Her brown eyes sparkled as her lips formed into a smile.

"Sean...Hi." She whispered. She's awake. She's here. Words couldn't describe how happy I was at the moment.

I laughed quietly. "How are you feeling?"

"Good...I guess. I mean I'm definitely not tired."

I smiled. "I'm glad."

She suddenly furrowed her eyebrows. "What happened? The nurse told me I've been asleep for 3 MONTHS."

I sighed and pulled up a chair, still holding her hands in mine. "What was the last thing you remembered?"

"An explosion." She simply said, "you were there and Danielle..."

"That's all you remember?" I asked.

"That and being thrown up into the air."

I squeezed her hand gently. "Well Danielle and I landed in the grass but you somehow landed right on the cement and you bashed your head. You were unconscious and you didn't wake up till now..."

"That's it?"

I looked down. "No..." She took her hand and rested it on my cheek, pushing my head up to look at her.

"What is it?"

I bit my lip then sighed. "For the past 3 months I've spent it all looking for Katrina, trying to figure out clues, anything really. But just last week, I've decided to go to her house. It was boarded up but luckily I got in because there was a hidden key. The place was emptied out but when I got upstairs...I found in the guest room..a dead body. Danielle's. She was hanging from the ceiling. Dead."

Hala looked at me in shock. "S-she killed her...?"

I nodded my head and looked down. "I'm sorry Hala." I brought her hand up to my lips and kissed it gently. She sighed as tears formed in her eyes.

"So what now?"

"Well Chris and I were off heading off to New York...Because that's where Katrina is."

She raised an eyebrow. "Chris? As in that complete dumbass who was helping Katrina? You have got to be kidding me Sean."

"I know it may sound stupid, but he said he'll help-" She cut me off.

"And you're gonna believe that? You can't trust this guy!"

"I don't! He knows that if he tries to run I'll call the cops and he'll get his ass thrown in jail. I know his name and what he looks like, there is no way he is running. So now he's helping me find Katrina." I explained. Just then there was a knock at the door and Chris came peaking in.

"Hey Chris." I said.

"Hey." He greeted.

Hala stared at Chris. "So this is the son of a bitch?"

I scratched the back of my neck. "Chris meet Hala, Hala meet Chris."

"Nice to meet you." Chris said sweetly.

"Pleasure." Hala said through her gritted teeth. I could already tell she was pissed off, by the look on her face she probably wanted to strangle him. Chris already felt the tension in the room so he decided to change the subject.

"So what time are we planning to go to New York tomorrow?"

"What?" Hala asked in disbelief.

"We were suppose to get on our flight at 5 put the hospital called and told me you woke up so I had to be here. But we'll be heading off tomorrow." I said.

"No no no, I'm coming with you."

"No! Are you insane? You just woke up from a coma and I'm not gonna let you get hurt again." I quickly said.

"That doesn't matter Sean. I am coming with you."

Chris interrupted. "Hala, I think he's right. Who knows what Katrina will do once she finds out you've woken up."

Hala pointed at him. "You, shut up." She turned towards me, "and you, I'm coming whether you like it or not. So deal with it."

The first thing I thought was you have got to be kidding me.

So exams are over and I feel so relaxed :') I'm sorry I took long to update, I've just been really stressed out and frustrated :( But I'm okay now, so I'll be updating a little quicker now :) I hope you liked it and please don't forget to vote & comment ♥ :)
