You're still so beautiful. Even with your skin hugging your bones too much, your tired smile that continues to fight to stay a little longer. It pains me too much to think about how just last December you could still do the things you wanted and go places, but I'm doing my best to stay strong and smile around you. I wish I could put my gratitude into words, to be able to express how glad I am to have you as my grandmother whose been so kind and gentle, who would tell me stories of when I was little over and over.

You've been my safe haven for as long as I've been alive, you've given me a second place to stay when my home with my father wasn't safe for me. And I'm so conflicted with what to do, because as much as I want to spend as much time with you as I can while you're here I still carry my responsibilities as a student. Although I can't be there all the time, lola, I love you dearly.
