A/n: Thank you to every people who are reading my story!!! You know all so well that I will continue writing this until I am done, right? Sorry for the slow updates. I have a lot to do in my job. :)
What would you do if the happiness of others began to hurt you? Would you try to break them down? Will you try to make them know how hurt you are? Those were questions that had gone through Anna's mind now that Hyun Woo seemed to have easily moved on and had a new girlfriend only a few months after their divorce. It was still a huge surprise for Anna when she discovered that her ex-husband suddenly had a new girlfriend, after all.
Even so, she knew that Kim Ji Eun had always been a good woman, and tougher and better to stand next to Lee Hyun Woo due to her upbringing but still, it did hurt her that Hyun Woo would replace her so quickly after they'd had a divorce making her wonder if he loved her truly. He married her so quickly and without question when they were merely twenty-one years old and somehow, his family had always been against the marriage but then, it was a shock to her when she saw them inside Prosecutor Woo's office and the first thing she spoke of was her shock. "You're with her, here, Hyun Woo? Why should your trophy woman doing beside you?"
"Why are you in Prosecutor Woo's office? I didn't imagine you'd be running here," Hyun Woo asked her. "Were you still hoping that I fall back in love with you again? Our marriage is a whole failure and you know that!"
Kim Ji Eun folded her arms and glared at her. "Why would you be too shocked to see me? I heard a lot about you. Can't we just accept that I am Hyun Woo's flower, now?"
"Why would I leave when Prosecutor Woo called me here?" Anna answered her back. "I came here for business."
"It's still good to see you here," Hyun Woo grinned. "You're helping me despite our divorce."
"I heard you remember a few bits of your childhood memories, already," sighed Anna. "Was that the reason why you entered such a relationship?"
Hyun Woo held her collar that time when Ryota and Prosecutor Woo just entered the office. It was a huge surprise to everyone inside when they saw him push her to the black sofa seat behind her. "You've never made me touch you in all our years as husband and wife. Why wouldn't I not stop my stupid love for you? My father was right about you and I risked marrying you when we were in our 20s. He died! He passed away because I defied him!!! Since I remember everything already, I regret how I felt before I saw him die in front of me! I was angry at him until I saw Takahiko shoot him repeatedly in the back while he was protecting me from him!"
"You need to stop, Hyun Woo," Ji Eun said after she held his right arm. "Prosecutor Woo and your investigator are here."
Hyun Woo looked at them and let Anna go. "Leave this room, I'm begging you. You were never right for me even if my love for you was insurmountable. You and I are too different from each other, Anna."
Prosecutor Woo walked forward in front of them with Ryota following behind. After that, he took off his court robes and looked at the people waiting for him in his office. His secretaries and paralegal were all silent at that time but they were pretty much surprised by the drama that ensued that day. "Do you even want to embarrass yourself in front of my secretaries, Anna, and also, you, Hyun Woo? You came here because of me and what I can do as a prosecutor. Don't you dare do something crazy in this office when I am about to be the chief prosecutor of the Seoul Western District Office!"
Hyun Woo was very much taken aback and had to sit down on the black sofa with Ji Eun sitting next to him to calm down. He had forgotten that Prosecutor Woo In Sung had always been never afraid of him. He was only one of the few people who could stand next to him which he knew. "Why is that woman here, anyway? Can you tell me why she's here?"
"So now, I'm just a woman?" Anna scoffed. "Have you cared about me?"
"You know the answer to that, Anna," Hyun Woo told her. "It was you who chose to abandon me."
Ryota sat on the black couch next to the sofa chairs in front of Hyun Woo and at the same time, did his best to compose himself to stop himself from punching Hyun Woo in front of the public. "Can you stop arguing like cats and dogs? Both of you are still acting as if you're a married couple."
Prosecutor Woo smiled after hearing Ryota say those words to stop Anna and Hyun Woo from arguing. With that, he felt the man's loyalty and sincerity towards them. "Can I borrow your investigator, Hyun Woo? He could help me find Takahiko's weaknesses. After this meeting, he'll be on his platform and announce the war."
"That's good enough for me," Hyun Woo told him. "I've seen enough of the evidence he gave me. He's bribed quite a lot of politicians for his business in South Korea, Japan, Philippines, and China."
"Wait!" Ryota was dumbfounded. "I am sure that right now, JSA is probably disappointed in me since I chose the South Korean Prosecution over the intelligence agency. They'd see me more as a traitor if I work here."
Prosecutor Woo folded his arms and grinned at him. "Choosing me over them would help Hyun Woo better than giving it to them, Mr. Watari. I will make sure his group and the man himself get his punishment."
"Can you clear that up more?" Ryota was just so confused. "Are you sure about this? I don't get it. I was an intelligence agent before, and they told me that they want me to work with Hyun Woo. At that time, I didn't even know he was my old friend!"
"The Intelligence Agencies don't plan to punish Mr. Arima, Mr. Watari!!!" Prosecutor Woo revealed to him. "I know because I had been there. Takahiko does have his own people inside JSA. JIA and NIS don't pretty much care about it. They've left the case to Seoul Metropolitan Agency and the prosecution. Even if you give your information to them, they won't move. It'll be stuck inside those shelves and—"
"I still don't get it," Ryota interrupted. "How did you know?"
Prosecutor Woo grinned at him, then, went on to sit on his leather chair. "My secretaries and colleagues in Seoul Metropolitan Agency were able to halt an assassination attempt to kill Hyun Woo. He was also an agent of JSA like you, though, in secret. They're using you for a diversion tactic. Hyun Woo made you resign to protect you."
Ryota was speechless that he doesn't even know how he would react to it. "No way... There's no way they'll do that..."
"Who tried to kill him?" Ji Eun asked him. "My dad could give him more bodyguards to protect him and me."
"His name's Kang Sun Jae," he answered them. "After quite a long, tough conversation with him, he spoke that Takahiko ordered him to do it. We stopped him before he can pull the trigger."
"Don't worry about me," Hyun Woo told them. "As long as Takahiko's alive, I won't be safe. He has to be jailed and put to justice as soon as possible so I can finally live in peace."
"It will be quite a long, painful journey for you," warned Prosecutor Woo. "Are you sure about this? You have to be strong to pull things off."
