Desire, Fate, Destiny, and Waiting... Part 2
The future has so many things that fascinate me and also, terrify me. It's the not-knowing part that makes me nervous. When it comes to destiny do we create our own or do we literally have no control? To what degree can we say that the future is all that we dream it will be? How much of it turns into being a reality? Some dream of passionate love. But instead, they get a cat or a dog.... maybe a lizard. Others dream of a career and instead have 6 babies and one on the way. Some wish to travel and see the world but instead stay within the proximity of their own town and yet they are happy anyway! Or are we?
Love. Hate. Both have always been the center of everything that humans do. We either love someone or we don't. We either love our careers or hate them, we either love to travel or hate it. We want, what we want. But what happens when we don't get what we want or who we want? If everything is a direct product of our decisions, why didn't we just decide? Why didn't we go for it? The reason... is our past. When we desire a life, we dream it up, we fantasize and romanticize every detail, But our past experience haunts us and based on memory and memory alone some tend to opt for the other path because our memory says beware. So is it real? Are we just all pretending this is the life we want and finding some sort of contentment in what we have? How long do we keep it going? How long will we continue to do the safe things?
Falling in love is tricky, it can happen at any time, at any age in any shape way, or form. It's either right on time or extremely inconvenient. And when it's inconvenient it becomes oh-so bittersweet. There's nothing worth more than imagining the opportunity to fly away, Holding onto all those words, and fantasies. Nothing more satisfying than imagining that man holding out his hand pulling close, kissing the neck, and putting his hands .....everywhere. And in this neverending imagination, it's amazing and we want it. But then, we wake up and we run. Why? Do we fear what we want the most? Maybe the chase is what we liked, maybe we are scared it won't work out. In that ironic twist, it didn't because it never began. It's because we remember trying this before and got hurt and it led us here.
So our past can profoundly alter the decisions we make. It can cause us to win, and also to lose. But are we living the life we want? Well..... that is what we have to decide for ourselves, because our present will become our past, and our future will become our present and when we get there we will have a whole new decision to make, and we will look back and use our memory once again. So when making decisions on love and life decide this...If I take the path I want and end up stumbling across this choice again, what decision would I want future me to make based on what I know now? And if I go the other way, what decision would I want future me to make based off of what I know now?
Do you think you would make the same choice?
