Feel it..
Bayley's P-O-V
'I always love coming to Lenexa, you know.' I said turning to Baron beside me.
'Hmm.' he said not even sparing me a look. He looked a little restless by his sitting position and would often go for either his headphones or his phone even within our 20 minutes ride.
Hey! Is he nervous?
'Baron!' I called him, finally making him turn his head. 'Are you nervous to meet your mom?' I asked raising my eyebrows.
He frowned his eyes and looked down. He was caught. So, the big bad lone wolf was nervous, huh!
I chuckled.
'What makes you laugh?' Baron asked giving me a not-so-happy look.
I scoffed again.
'Oh Mr. Pestock! It's me who's going to your house for the first time, not you. But, it seems you're more nervous than me.' I said, teasing him.
Baron shook his head. I chuckled.
'You won't understand.' he muttered. I heard that and looked at him blank. I placed my hand gently on his shoulder, making him look at me.
'It's gonna be okay Baron. trust me, things would be much better than you expect.' I said consoling him.
He sighed.
'I don't know Bayley. I just hope things get over soon.' he said.
The driver took a left turn and I saw Baron look out at the surroundings.
'We're here.' he said.
****
I held Baron's hand tighter as we pressed the door bell for the second time. This lingering anticipation was killing me and I could imagine what it's doing to Baron. Finally, the door opened. It was Todd.
The square jawed guy gave us a wide smile as he saw us.
'Hello Tom! Hello Miss..' he struggled referring to me.
'Pamela.' I said introducing myself by my real name.
'Hello Pamela. I'm really happy to have you two around. Please get inside.' Todd said looking really delighted.
I nodded with a smile and turned to see Baron who looked quite indifferent but only I knew by the sweat in his head, how much freaked out he was.
'Let's get inside.' I said giving his hand a little squeeze. He gave me a stare and we walked inside.
Todd motioned us to sit on the sofa.
'Who's it hun?' I heard a female voice.
Todd looked behind towards the voice with a smile.
'You have no idea Mon.' Todd said excited.
My eyes fell on the middle aged woman approaching us. She won't be above 50 but her postures and expressions made her look really older.
She gasped as I saw us, specially Baron. Baron who sat on the sofa, stood up now, his eyes on the older lady. I could sense the emotions building up intensely.
That lady was his mother.
'T.. Tom!' she said in a broken voice mixed with pain, surprise and delight.
Baron stood there still. I looked at his eyes to see a glossy layer. He was getting emotional too.
'Yes Mon. Tom is back. He came to see his mother. He misses you Mon.' Todd said, a mixture of delight and a probable relief from the burden of guilt evident in his voice.
'Oh Tom! My child!' she said slowly walking towards Baron.
She stood near him as tears rolled down her cheeks. She placed her hands on Baron's cheeks, feeling him. Baron tried to compose his emotions but then I felt him loosening his grip.
I knew Baron couldn't take it any longer.
'Mom!' he said breaking down. His mom was sobbing hard as hee son took her hands on his lips kissing his mom's affectionate knuckles.
'I.. I'm sorry mom. I really am.' Baron said pulling his mother to his chest. His mother sobbed.
'No Tom. I was a bad mother who couldn't keep up to her son.' she said. Both mom and son were sobbing vigorously.
I felt a drop of tear escape my eyes.
'It was never your fault mom. Love can never be a fault. I just didn't understand until now.' Baron said. His mom shook her head holding her taller son tight.
'I love you mom. I missed you so much.' Baron said kissing his mom's forehead.
'I know son. I missed you too.' she said.
I smiled as I saw Baron's other side. I'm glad I could play a little part in uniting the mother and the son. I wiped my tears.
But, then Baron's mother's eyes fell on me as she lifted her head from Baron's chest.
'Who's she?' Baron's mom asked lifting her head towards me.
Baron opened his mouth to say something but Todd was quicker.
'That's Pamela. Tom's girlfriend.' Todd said.
What?
I tried to object but Baron's mom was faster.
'Oh well!' she walked towards me with a bright smile on her face.
'Oh my God! I'm so glad Tom brought you here too. I'm Mona, Tom's mom.' she said.
I bit my lip and turned to Baron, seeking help get out of the misunderstanding but he just looked at his mother.
'Ehhh.. Hello Mona! I.. I'm actually..' I tried to explain.
'I understand Pamela. You didn't want to leave Baron alone in this matter.' Mona said. 'I really appreciate you my child.' Mona said cupping my cheek.
I saw Baron and Todd looking at each other. I guess the two friends need to settle their differences too.
I squeezed Baron's hands and gave him a nod, encouraging him to start the conversation.
'Hey Todd! You.. You seem to lost a lot of appetite in these years, pal.' Baron said with a slight smile.
Todd, who didn't expect it at all, smiled wide with delight.
'Yeah. That's because the burden of guilt made me suffer the worst way possible, pal.' Todd said. Baron smiled and walked near Todd.
'There's no guilt left when you get your best friend back, Toddie.' Baron said holding Todd by his shoulders. I could see the emotions build up when Todd hugged Baron tighter.
'I'm so sorry Tom. I made your life a living hell. I'm a blotch in the name of friendship.' Todd said sobbing.
Baron chuckled, breaking the hug.
'No Todd. You're not. It should be me who would have trusted his best friend a little more.' Baron said.
The surprising thing was Baron was saying everything I explained him the other day. Did I convince him to that extent?
Mona was looking at me with a wide smile.
'I know it must be you who made my son this considerate. I really want to thank you Pamela.' she said.
'Ahh.. Not at all Mona. I was just being a good friend.' I said.
***
We had a delicious lunch. Todd said Mona managed to prepare all of Baron's favorite dishes even being in an ailing state. I must say Mona was a nice cook and that's from where Baron's got his techniques.
'So, where did you and Tom met?' Mona asked me.
'We both are employees of wwe. Both are professional wrestlers. So, once the authority decided I needed a tough trainer and that's when I met Baron.' I said chuckling after remembering our initial days of communication.
'Interesting Pamela! But, since when are you together?' Todd asked.
'Well Todd..' Baron tried to say something but I was faster.
'Three months, right?' I asked Baron, who looked at me confused. But, wasn't it three months that we are living together in the house.
'Wow! I'm really happy that someone could understand my Tom.' Mona said caressing her son's cheeks from the adjacent chair.
Baron smiled looking at me for a split second.
'Yep. I guess I know him more than he knows himself now.' I said giggling. Indeed, Baron has no idea who he was. Only I know that caring and compassionate soul behind the Dark and lonely mask he wears.
'Wow! You are one hell of a lucky guy Tom.' Todd said.
Baron shook his head and scoffed looking down.
'I know I am.' he said looking at me.
What's wrong with him?
The next two hours went in a really cool mood as Mona showed me few photo albums. I saw few pictures of Baron when he was a child. He was too cute a child! Beautiful brown eyes, beautiful messy hairs, happy smile with the nose of a wolf. I couldn't help but laugh at few pictures where Baron tried to play baseball.
'Did you enjoy your time with us?' Mona asked me as I finished seeing the albums. Baron and Todd were in the living room.
'Absolutely Mona. I loved coming here.' I exclaimed.
Mona smiled.
'You know Pam, my worries regarding Tom are really lessened since I met you. You are a really caring girl.' Mona said.
I bit my lip and smiled at the compliment.
'But, I know my son. He is a stubborn by birth. But, at the same time, he's really emotional Pamela. He gets hurt too easily, especially when it involves a person closer to his heart.' Mona said looking up and sighed.
I knew she was referring to what happened seven years ago. I placed a hand on her arm, making her smile a bit.
'It's over now Mona. Baron missed you and he knows it.' I said consoling a mother's heart.
'I know Pam but just make sure he never gets hurt.' she said in a broken voice.
I nodded and gave her one of the biggest hugs.
'Don't worry Mona. I'll make sure Baron never gets hurt. I won't let him get hurt.' I said. I really meant it.
***
Baron hugged his mother once again as we were about to leave. Todd and Baron were close too. They bro-hugged each other.
'Can't wait to get to Somet's pond with you man.' Todd said to Baron. Baron chuckled.
'The next time.' Baron said.
'Yeah. Bring Pamela too. She'd love to see you fishing.' Todd said looking at me. I smiled looking at Baron who just side-chuckled.
We got into the car and this time Baron decided to drive.
'Bye Tom, bye Pam.' Mona waved.
'Bye mom. Love you.' Baron said through the window.
'And take care of each other.' Mona said. I giggled.
'Yeah. We will.' I said. Baron gave me a confused look.
What's wrong in that? They know we stay together, right?
He started the car. Baron switched on the radio.
I hummed the tune of the Enrique Eglasias track that was playing when suddenly I felt Baron looking at me.
'You conveyed something really weird out there, you know.' he said all of a sudden.
What have I done?
I raised my eyebrows at him.
'Why? What have I done wrong?' I asked.
Baron looked at me blank for a while and then licked his lips.
'So, you really didn't understand what they thought?' he asked me.
'No. But, is there a problem with that?' I asked raising an eyebrow leaning a little towards Baron.
Baron's lip twitched to a smirk.
'No. Not at all.' he said and turned to resume his focus on driving.
***
'You're sure you want Starbucks. It may rain any moment Bayley.' Baron said as we parked the car in front of Starbucks.
'Yep. I'm so sure Baron. And don't worry. It won't rain and even it it does, I like it.' I said and went inside.
I could feel Baron sigh and follow me.
Baron's P-O-V
I followed Bayley inside Starbucks. She was too enthusiastic to stop here. I know it's gonna rain though. But, I just couldn't say her No.
Bayley ordered her favorite fish and chips while I ordered my black coffee.
'What's your obsession with darkness?' Bayley asked all of a sudden. I mean dark paints, dark clothes and even black coffee.' she said pointing to the one I was sipping.
I scoffed.
'Darkness is better Bayley. It is monologous. No distractions, no extensions, no fear.' I said sipping into my coffee.
'Hmm.. I get it but don't you feel life is incomplete without subtle distractions. How can a man confine himself within himself? He needs extensions. We.. We live for each other Baron.' she said.
The last line she said trembled my being for a second but then she started adding more..
'I.. I mean, we the people are incomplete without each other. Like I need the guy serving us water and you need a motor mechanic, we all are extensions of each other. We can't survive without each other.' she said.
I chuckled. Much like you and your Irish guy!
I looked out through the window. The gust of winds were blowing the dust particles and dead leaves all over. There was definitely a storm coming. But, alas! Miss Starbucks in front of me was in complete oblivion about that as she licked on to the tiniest chips particle on her finger.
I sighed.
I had the best five hours of my life after seven long years today. Mom was really happy and I was equally happy to see her happy. But, she looked so old and fragile. I guess I was wrong when I thought I was the most saddest and lonely person in the world because even amidst all, mom was more lonely than me. Todd loved her but I guess he can never fill the space vacated by me. She longed for me all through out. A big burden of guilt relieved my chest today of being the worst child in the world. I mean I would have been that cursed child who would think twice to drop a tear off his eyes while hearing her death news, if it wasn't for Bayley. She made me learn the value of relationships, to care about others. I know I would never agree with her points on her face, but deep down under, she has no idea what the worn out doll was doing to this inhuman brute.
At times, I pity her for falling for Fergal, the son of a bitch has no idea how lucky he is.
I remembered going through her short poems, speaking her love-lorn heart out in the pages of her diary. She is in love, perhaps, she will always be in love with him.
The gust of wind hit the place again.
'Bayley! Hurry up! You don't want to get stuck here, do you?' I warned her.
Bayley took a bite of her fish and gave me a sheepish smile. 'Just a sec' she mouthed.
She is crazy sometimes. I sometimes wonder, if she loves herself at all. She has got no idea of the real world mechanisms, just like right now.
My lips twitched into a smile as I thought about the misconception Mom and Todd had today. Seriously, they thought Bayley was my girlfriend. And it even intensified when the girl corresponded with them having absolutely no idea about it. I scoffed by myself. How could they even think so?
I mean, Bayley is not at all my type in an apparent view. I'm dark as a devil, she's colorful as a kid, I'm the lone wolf, she's the hugger, I love to hate and hurt people and she is the epitome of love, care and compassion.
'Baron! Baron!' Bayley nudging my wrists brought me back to Starbucks. I shrugged a little, giving her a confusing look.
'You're okay?' she asked me.
'ehmm..yeah..just thinking something..' I said clearing my throat. But then my eyes fell outside on the sky! Holy fuck! It's dark as hell! The storm was already swaying things away.
Bayley smiled as my concerned gaze met hers.
'It's going to rain, Bayley!' I said.
'Yes, I know, that's why I was calling you.' she said seemingly excited.
Is she fine?
'It's beautiful when it rains, isn't it Baron?' she asked giggling in excitement.
Oh man! she's just the opposite of me or any other rational man.
'Well, Bayley actuall...' she cut me off.
'Let's go out.' she suggested grabbing my wrist.
I frowned my eyes giving her a are you kidding me look. But, she smiled wide and got up from her sit.
'C'mon Baron! Rains don't come here easily. Let's enjoy every drop of it.' She said pulling my hand now. oh no! She's crazy.
'Bayley! Stop! This is crazy!' I said. 'It's almost a fucking storm.' I exclaimed.
She rolled her eyes, sort of disappointed.
'Fine!' she said. 'I'll go alone.' she said and left without me. I watched her as she went.
The air was really on swing today. I..ehm..I'm kind of worried for Bayley. They girl is crazy.
After five minutes, I decided to go have a look outside. I paid for us and went out of starbucks. There were a number of young teenage couple stupidly enjoying the wind, cheering and kissing. But, where is Bayley?
I went towards the parking looking for her and ..there she was!
..dancing and humming a tune as her slightly curve beautiful body swayed with the wind.
I walked closer, I don't know why but that's what my feet did.
'Storm clouds are circling around....But I won't let that shit drag me down..' she hummed, doing a little booty twirl, but suddenly stopped as she saw me.
I was in no position to react. But, she smiled as she saw me.
'Look who's here!' she teased coming towards me.
'ehmm..yeah..what are you doing?' I asked awkwardly.
She smiled.
'Can't you see?' she asked. I looked at her confused.
'Seriously, you were dancing like a puberty struck teenager?' I asked raising an eyebrow.
She rolled her eyes.
'Yeah, I enjoy being one.' she said. 'Don't you?' she asked. I shook my head scoffing sarcastically.
'Hmm...I get it and I have an idea.' she said walking closer and grabbing my hand. I gave her a confused look.
'Join me my teenage holmie.' she said pulling me, catching me off guard.
What? No way!
'Bayley..I..' I complained.
'Oh! C'mon Baron!! You'' miss all the fun if you don't try.' she urged and took be to the east of the parking lot where the wind was massive.
'Damn! It's stormy!' I said as we stopped. Bayley chuckled.
'Oh no Mr. Pestock, it's fun!' she said and went behind me, picking both my hands and stretching them wide.
'Bayley! What are you..?' I was about to ask.
'Hush!' she said putting her fingers on my lips and went in front of me, stretching her hands as well.
'Close your eyes and feel it Baron.' she said almost in a whisper.
What the? Are we playing titanic?
But, I did what she said and closed me eyes. The wind hit my skin, softly caressing it, almost like a lover's kiss. I relaxed my body further, something felt new..really new. My body brushed against Bayley, who perhaps, had her eyes closed too. She's so soft, so delicate, so pure. I felt her get more closer this time, relaxing herself backwards with her eyes.
I shivered as the pressure grew on myself. I opened my eyes abruptly. She was too close for me to stay calm. I lowered my hands and backed off a little, trying to turn but just as I did, Bayley caught my wrist.
'You're cheating Baron!' she said slowly turning to face me.
I couldn't speak as something choked my throat.
Bayley's hairs were blowing with the wind and the gust of wind made her look fresh and tender as ever.
'I..need to go.' I said to her. She chuckled and picked my hand up..
..wrapping it around her neck. What is she doing?
We were walking but my eyes were on her, her smile, her expressions, her happy glows. She trusted me. So, she let me touch her..this time..every time. Hell! She even let me take her virginity!
No other man had ever touched her before me. I'm the only one she ever had and whenever I think of that, it makes me feel really awesome.
People watched as we walked like a couple now, wrapped around each other. Rain drops slowly kissing our skin.
'It's raining Bayley.' I said in a mere whisper, my mouth really near her ear.
'I know.' she said looking into my eyes deep.
'Let's get inside the car.' I proposed and slowly withdrew my touch from her. She didn't respond. I started walking away but soon realized she wasn't coming.
I looked behind to see her stand still in the same position, looking at me. Her eyes had an unknown anticipation. The rain started falling heavily.
I couldn't hold myself any longer and ran towards her. A smile came on her face amidst the rain.
I came closer to her. 'Let's get back Bayley.' I said but she threw a mischievous smile and started running more far.
'Holy crap! Come back Bayley!' I said going after her.
She looked back throwing a smile and started walking further fast. She's gonna pay for this. Lucky for me, my leg and steps were bigger than hers and I caught hold of her soon, though I was having fun chasing her.
I chuckled and caught her elbows pulling her closer to me. She looked around at me chuckling.
'Game over.' I said, pulling her more closer, almost brushing to my chest. Her smile disappeared slowly as she placed her hands on my chest, shivering my spine.
Slowly, we got more closer as I caught hold of her arms now. Bayley looked up at me and soon, lifted one of her hands around my neck. I smiled looking at her.
She looked so serene like a rain angel!
I stroke her cheeks with the back of my hand, making her wince a little. I brushed the strand of drenched hair off her face and behind her ears, as her eyes closed with a gasp. I knew her heart was beating fast now because so was mine. My hands landed around neck, slowly cupping her face as our foreheads touched.
I don't know what was this moment all about but I didn't want it to end. Our eyes were examing the depth of our hearts as our noses touched. What was happening? I don't know if it was wrong but all I knew was I wanted it so badly.
We shivered as our noses crushed on each other with the more heavier rain. She was breathing heavily and I wanted to make her stop. I looked at her pink plump lips, wet and juicy as ever, enough to meet my long-preserved thirst.
I leaned in as she closed her eyes shut with a squeeze and whimper.
She knew it was coming and didn't push me away. I leaned down, the hot breathe from her mouth fanning my trembling lips. Just then...
'Guys! Get a room somewhere!' a coarse voice interrupted. Oh fuck! I pulled away fat, making Bayley shrug a bit.
His car beeped.
'It has been a minute now that I'm calling you two but no, you two are busy in your little romance.' the guy said annoyed. 'Move now, because I need to park.' he said.
Crap! That's embarrassing!
I was damn pissed on this mannerless guy though I had faults too.
'Listen Mister..' I started but Bayley caught my arms, making me look at her.
She shook her head, urging me not to argue. Damn! Why?
'ehmm..I'll be in the car.' she said softly biting her lip and walked away as I looked on.
'It seems your girlfriend is smarter that you, huh?' the guy said with a teasing smile. I gave him a dirty look.
'Bloody scumbag!' I hissed before following Bayley.
