Chapter 12

Moonbeam's POV

The walk to the castle was longer than I thought it would be. I was trying to walk silently but I had so many questions running through my head that I couldn't stop them from leaving my mouth.

"So, is my name actually Moonbeam or...?" I looked at Eric and he smiled at me.

"Well, your birth name is actually Lunella but the people that took you must have changed your name to hide you. However, Luna is moon in Latin so maybe that's where they got the first part of your name." I nodded and looked at the sky, thinking about what he just told me.

"Do we have any other siblings?" I'd always wanted a younger sibling, even though I used to have Jasmine. I always felt like having a way younger sibling would be cooler than having someone only a few years younger.

"Well, to be totally honest, Mom and Dad kind of gave up hope that we would ever find you. I know that's not what I said earlier but I didn't want to hurt your feelings. Anyways, they gave up a few years ago and wanted to try for another kid so they did, which resulted in our younger brother Jake. He's 5 years old but he knows about you. Tyler and I always told him about you even though Mom and Dad didn't want us to. So he knows he has an older sister but he doesn't know what you look like or anything because we didn't really know any of that obviously."

"So Jake is our younger brother...AWESOME! Wait, who is Tyler?" I was excited about meeting everyone soon but a little sad that they would only be shocked to see that I wasn't dead.

"Oh, sorry. I forgot that you don't know everyone yet. Tyler is our older brother. He is a year older than me so he is 20. " I nodded in understanding.

"Okay. Recap, I have three brothers-Jake, who is 5 years old, you are 19 years old, and Tyler, who is 20. My parents, the King and Queen of werewolves, think I'm dead and my real name is Lunella."

"Exactly!" He said, happy that I understood everything.

I was about to ask another question but stopped when we finally came out of the forest and a large castle was in front of me. It was absolutely beautiful and I understood why it need to be so far from civilization. It was huge! (A/N: Picture of the castle on the side)

When we got to about 40 feet from the castle, 20 more wolves came out of nowhere and lined up side by side to keep us from going any further.

"Stand down. These are no ordinary wolves, this is the long lost princess and her pack." The wolves instantly bowed and parted to let us through. We kept walking but Eric stopped to tell one of the wolves something before continuing on. I shrugged it off and didn't bother asking what he told the wolf.

Two guards opened the big marble doors and bowed as we passed through the doors. We walked through many halls before coming to a stop in front of another set of marble doors. Eric turned to me and put his hands on my shoulders.

"Okay, behind these doors lies the ballroom. This is where a lot of wolves have come to celebrate Mom's birthday. I'm going to mask your scent and you are going to wait here until I come get you. Your pack can go in but I really need you to stay out here so that I can prepare everyone for your return. Seriously, stay outside these doors until I tell you to come in. Got it?" He stared at me and I stared back before laughing.

"Wow. We've only just been reunited and you are already acting like the commanding older brother." He stood up straight and laughed as well.

"Anyways, yeah, I understand."

"Thanks. Let's do this. It's not going to feel any different but you won't smell like anything until I unmask your scent." He put his hand on my head and chanted.

"Lupus cum invitis odorem, non est ex odore. (Wolf with an unwanted scent, have a scent no more." Once he was done, he nodded in satisfaction and motioned for everyone to go into the ballroom while I waited outside. Ryker stayed behind and hugged me tight.

"Are you going to be okay?" I laughed and nodded.

"I'll be fine. I'm assuming it'll only be a few minutes before he gets me." He nodded but still looked worried. I gave him a gentle kiss and laid my head on his chest.

"Seriously, I will be fine. I promise." He pulled back to look at me and then nodded when he saw that I was serious.

"Okay, I'll see you in a bit, Love." He kissed my cheek and then disappeared behind the big doors.

I could here everything that was going on behind the doors thanks to my werewolf hearing so I tuned into my brother's voice and listened closely.

"Happy birthday, Mom! I have the most amazing gift ever for you and I'm a hundred percent sure you are going to love your present." I heard Eric say.

"What is it? I can't imagine what it could be. I already have everything I could ever want." I'm assuming my mother said that and my heart broke a little. She had everything she could ever want, she said so herself.

I didn't bother listening to anymore of the conversation. I backed away from the door and spun around. I walked away as quickly as I could and went down many halls. I took lefts and rights and eventually ended up in what looked like a garden.

I walked slowly through the garden passing pink, red, and blue roses. I sat down on a bench at the heart of the garden and stared at the big water fountain that was in front of me.

The fountain was a rose standing in the middle of what looked like a bird bath. Water was coming out of its leaves and the water was sparkling in the moon light. It had gotten a bit late and now the stars were twinkling and sparkling.

I looked up at the stars and just stared up at them. I used to do this with my brother...I mean Bane and he would always tell me that I sparkle brighter than every star in the sky. I used to just star gaze when I was confused or just needed a break from everything. I would ask myself questions and the starlight would help me think about the questions. Sometimes I even came up with an answer. So that's what I decided to do, question.

All I could wonder was, 'Why? Why did I have to be taken away from my home, from my family? Why did I have to be brought back here only to find that I have been replaced? Why?'

Eric's POV

"Happy birthday, Mom! I have the most amazing gift ever for you and I'm a hundred percent sure you are going to love your present." I said as I approached my mother. I was trying to hide how excited I was because Mom could always tell when something was up.

"What is it? I can't imagine what it could be. I already have everything I could ever want." I cringed at that sentence because I was pretty sure Moonbeam was listening into our conversation. I mustered up the best smile I could though so that my mother wouldn't know how much damage that sentence might have done.

"Oh, not everything. We are all missing a very important piece in our lives." She raised one eyebrow at that.

"Eric Leonardo Lupus, I swear if you brought home a dog for my birthday I will not be happy with you for a very long time." I laughed at the irony.

"Well, she isn't a dog, but she is living..." My father and mother looked at each other before looking at me. My mother sighed eventually and nodded.

"Okay, bring me my present." I smirked at that.

"I love the enthusiasm Mom!" She glared at me and I ran away. I left the ballroom and went to the spot where I left Moonbeam only to find no one there. I heaved out a frustrated sigh and followed her scent to the garden. She was sitting on the bench in the middle of the garden. I sat quietly next to her for a while before breaking the silence.
-----
Moonbeam's POV

I heard someone sit down next to me but I didn't speak. We just sat there until the stranger finally broke the silence.

"You know she didn't mean that."

"Oh, hey Eric. I didn't realize it was you." I just kept staring at the flowing water, not making eye contact but I could feel his eyes on me.

"I'm sure that once she sees you she'll know that she needs you in her life...we all do." I finally met his gaze and stared at him, trying to find a drop of deceit or lies but all I saw was sincerity and love. I sighed and stood up. I held out my hand to him and he took it before standing up as well.

"Okay, let's do this." He nodded and we made our way back to the ballroom. Once we were in front of the doors yet again, I paused for a moment. All these negative thoughts filled my head... What if I'm not good enough? What if they don't want me? What if I don't fit into the family anymore?

"It'll be alright." Eric whispered softly and my feet began to move again. We pushed the doors open and every werewolf in the room stared at us, or more specifically me as we made our way up to where the Royal Chairs were. The King stood up in front of the Queen and growled.

"Eric, why did you bring a rogue into the castle?!" I flinched at his words but I didn't move.

"She isn't a rogue, she is a long lost family friend." My mother stood up but still stood behind the King...or my father, I guess.

"Eric, this isn't funny. When you said you had a present for me I was already hesitant because you never ever get me anything, not that I need anything. Now, you bring me a rogue as a present? Is this what you kids think is a joke?" My mother looked at two boys who were standing at the bottom of the stage watching everything. One was really young and the other looked only a few years older than me. I assumed they were my other brothers.

"We didn't have anything to do with this. It was all Eric this time." The older one said with his arms crossed over his chest.

"Yeah!" The younger one agreed. Mom looked at Eric again and growled.

"Get this rogue out of my sight before I have her killed!" My pack and the few wolves in the Royal Pack that knew who I was growled at the King's words.

"No! I will not kill my sister. You didn't let me introduce her before you wrote her off and practically sentenced her to her death. You honestly think that I would bring an actual rogue inside the castle? You think I'm so immature as to bring a rogue in here as a prank...or a joke? Really? That's how much faith you have in your son? I'm honestly disappointed in you guys. I'm disappointed in you the most, Mother. I would have expected such quick judgment from Dad but from you? I can't believe you two. Come on, Moon. Let's go to my room where you can be safe from the likes of the people who are supposedly my parents." Everyone in the room, except for my pack and the few other wolves who knew who I was, gasped.

The two boys who stood at the bottom of the stage ran up to us and grabbed Eric's shoulder to stop him from walking away.

"Eric, bro, what's going on?" The older one asked while staring at me. I stared right back at him and marveled at how alike we were. Same purple eyes with a red ring around them, same white blond hair (except his was way shorter and styled up), and he even had small streaks of different colors in his hair (I assumed they were natural like mine).

"Is this my sister? Is she the one that you are always talking about?" The younger boy asked. He looked more like Eric, with brown hair and red eyes, however we all had streaks of different colors in our hair.

Eric looked down at him and smiled.

"Yeah, Jake this is Moonbeam and she is your sister." Jake looked up at me with his red eyes and studied me. I looked down at the floor and watched my feet move around nervously.

"She's pretty." My head shot up and I stared at him before grinning. I could feel myself blushing.

"Thanks. I think you're handsome." It was my little brother's turn to blush and it looked so cute because his baby cheeks turned a light shade of red.

"Can I hug you?" He asked timidly. I laughed and nodded.

"You are my brother right? You can hug me whenever you want." He gave a childish giggle and ran up to me before jumping into my open arms. I squeezed him tight to me and he wrapped his legs around my waist.

"Come on you guys. Let's get out of here." Eric said and pulled me to the doors. I decided to just carry Jake because I didn't want to let him go. I stopped right outside the doors and looked behind me.

"Moon? What are you doing?" Eric asked when he saw that I wasn't following him.

"Waiting." I said and just shrugged.

"Waiting for what?" Tyler asked. I looked at them.

"Not what, who. He'll be here any second." Just as I said that, Ryker walked through the doors and held my hand.

"Now we can go." My brothers looked confused but shrugged it off and kept walking. While we were walking, Jake stared at Ryker and then looked at me.

"Who is he?" I laughed at how blunt he was.

"He is my mate." His eyes widened and then he looked at Ryker again. He pointed sternly at Ryker and his brows furrowed.

"Don't hurt my sister or I'll hurt you." I don't know what made Ryker's eyes widen but they did and he gulped, hard.

"Don't worry. I won't." Ryker looked a bit scared still, even after Jake had nodded and turned away but I left that as a question for later.

We got to a mahogany door and Eric motioned us to go in. I was amazed by his 'bedroom' because it honestly looked like a small apartment. It had a small kitchen and a huge bathroom complete with a waterfall shower and a hot tub for a bathtub. He had a leather couch and a king sized bed.

"Wow." Is all I said.

"Yeah, it's a bit much but I like it." Eric shrugged. I nodded and smiled.

"Sit down. We have a lot to catch up on." Tyler said. Ryker and I sat on the couch and I set Jake on my lap, his back to me and my arms around his tiny waist.

"Okay, so tell us everything." I looked at Ryker and he looked at me before I began my story.

"Well, my life was pretty simple before I ran away from the Black Blood Pack which is pretty much where I grew up. I then ended up at the Blue Moon Pack where I found Ryker and his human, Dayton. They were the future Alpha of the pack and my mate...or at least I thought so. Then while I was in the pack for a day or two, I met this little boy, Liam. We got close because he was around six and didn't have any parents. Then, I used my powers to take him to my universe but he changed into a 30 year old and then he used his powers to put me into a lot of pain. It hurt so much and I couldn't take it so I passed out. I woke up chained to a metal chair in a basement type of room. The guy that I thought was Liam laughed at me and told me that Dayton wasn't actually my mate, they were just using him to make me trust the Liam-wanna-be so that he could kidnap me. Then, my sister and brother, or who I thought were my sister, her mate and my brother, the Beta, Alpha and Third Beta of the Black Blood Pack, showed up in the room along with Dayton and his father. Dayton turned out to be my 'sister's' mate's cousin and they all hated me so then Jasmine cut me with a knife that was soaked in wolfs bane. Then a few of the other people cut me with the knife and then I got pissed about something so I used my powers to break out of the chains. I put them in chains in a metal chair and then I stripped all of them of their wolves, except for the Liam-wanna-be. I actually sent his wolf to heaven to be with his mate who died. The wolves then became my Satelles and I asked the fates to give them different mates. Ryker was mine and then we were going through the forest after all that happened. Then Eric attacked us and almost killed my mate, thanks for that. Now we are here."

"Wait! You almost killed her mate?!" Jake and Tyler yelled at Eric.

"I'm sorry! At the time she smelled like those rogues who took her when she was younger and so I just was pissed off. How was I supposed to know she was our lost sister who got taken when she was younger?" I shook my head and slapped him upside his head.

"That is kind of sweet but YOU ALMOST KILLED MY MATE!"

"Wait, wait, wait. Hold up. So Ryker wasn't your mate but you thought he was at first. You found out he wasn't but then the fates paired you guys up again?" I was about to answer but Ryker jumped in.

"Actually, she was my mate before but Dayton didn't accept her. I did."

"Wait! So when he said he accepted me...that was you?" I couldn't wrap my head around that.

"Yeah. I took over at that point because he wasn't going to accept you but I already loved you so I couldn't let you go." I 'awed' at that and gave him a kiss.

"Ewwwww." My brothers pretended to gag and I laughed.

"Oh hush." I said still giggling.

There was a knock at the door and I got up to get it since the boys were still gagging and teasing Ryker about being 'whipped' or whatever.

I opened the door and stepped back startled at who was there. I just stared at them and couldn't say anything.

This is a conversation I didn't feel ready for, not yet at least.
