His death didn't stop the world,
The planets didn't suddenly align.
People still went to work,
And on bulletin boards there was no sign.
After the pledge of allegiance at school,
They didn't ask for a moment of silence.
When I walked down the crowded halls,
No one grew silent.
His was just another death,
One of many in a day.
I feel horrible of course,
Because he is now forever away.
