I saw that you were close,
So close that if I reached out,
Your skin I'd be able to touch.

My mind told me to reach out,
Yet my body wouldn't respond,
And I wondered why I was holding back so much.

I seemed to be paralyzed,
But you inched closer,
Until we were face to face.

I looked at your eyes,
That looked at my lips,
And wondered why you didn't close the space.

You leaned in close,
I closed my eyes,
And felt like I wanted to scream.

So I opened my eyes but you were gone,
Only then did I realize,
That it had only been a dream.
