Nico and Skylar arrived at this small diner around the block, and they were currently waiting on Nico's dad to show up.

It has been about ten minutes and they were about to get up and leave till he finally showed up.

"Sorry I'm late" he said when he came over. "What's new" Nico remarked to him taking a sip of his drink.

His dad sat across from Skylar and Nico while Skylar gave Nico a light squeeze on his knee sensing his anxiety.

"Hello, my name is Malcolm" Nico's dad said looking at Skylar. "I'm Skylar a friend of Nico" Skylar replied back to him, and he nodded.

They soon ordered their food, and the tension was getting worse by the minute. "So, dad you said you wanted to talk what about" Nico asked him, trying not to make a scene.

"I wanted to apologize start over with you" Malcolm said and then their food came.

"Apologize after all this time why, why now I'm all grown I have amazing parents after mom died, I went into foster care because you were too drunk beating me to death to even care" he said, and Malcom looked down.

Everyone began to eat their food after a few minutes of silence.

"I know that, and I know I made mistakes" Malcolm started to say before he was interrupted.

"Mistakes who beats their kid till their unconscious barely being able to move I have the scars to prove it" Nico replied back to him as Skylar just watched in silence at this point, she wasn't even sure what to do. "I had a problem" Malcom said.

"Yeah, clearly but you refused to get help I was five years old" Nico said.

"I know and I'm sorry I really am I'm a changed man" Malcom told Nico and Skylar gave him a squeeze reminding him not to make a scene which he noticed.

"No one changes overnight thank you for calling me, but I forgave you a long time ago for myself, but I do not need you in my life" Nico said paying for their food leaving in a hurry while Skylar followed him.

Skylar and Nico arrived back at Nico's apartment after that disaster of a dinner. He sighed before turning to look at Skylar.

"I'm sorry about the dinner I thought i could handle seeing him but I" Nico said to Skylar hesitating to finish as she walked up to him.

"Hey, hey it's okay no need to apologize you did pretty good and you didn't have to see him you chose to not for him but for you" Skylar told him, and he smiled at her.

"And if it were me, I would have walked out the second I saw him you did good okay what he did was awful, but you worked past it and look at you, now you're this amazing, sweet guy who loves to dance" Skylar told him as Nico looked at her.

"You're amazing you know that thanks for coming I have no idea what I would have done without you" Nico told Skyler. 'Hey what are friends for right" Skylar told him.

"Right" Nico said, and she smiled at him. Then all of a sudden it got quiet neither of the two speaking a word as they just looked at each other seeming like they were the only two people on the planet and then Nico kissed Skylar.

It felt like magic dancing in Skylar's mouth sparks flying whatever you could dream of nothing like the first time Logan kissed her.

It was different but a good different Skylar was too surprised and into the kiss that she didn't even realize Nico pulled away.

"I'm sorry I just I couldn't help myself it won't happen again" Nico apologized to Skylar .

"It's okay i should get going anyways will I see you at dance tomorrow it's my last day" Skylar asked him. "Yeah, I'll be there, see you there" Nico said.

"See you there" Skylar said and left thinking about the kiss.
