Chapter 3
Hey guys! New update: Chapter 3....what did you think was gonna happen? Let's find out!
Astoria
My alarm rang for a full two minutes or so before I actually shut it off. I woke up pretty pleased with myself, because I found some pretty outfit to wear, hah! Sums up just the way I want it to.....beware Nick! (Tell me what you think of it in the comments)
Coz right now I'm just a sweetheart, with a temper! Muhahaaa...and some black jeans. Selfie! tap, tap. Sent to Callie. Done.
"Are you done, honey?" Oh Mum.
"Yeah, Just a second"
"Okay...come quick!"
"Coming!"
I pick up my bag and wear my black pumps, and then I figure I should put a few more accessories on. So I put some lip gloss, silver earrings, and a silver chain as well. I put on my charm bracelet too, I never go anywhere without it. Lastly, I put my hair up in a pony, I rarely ever keep it open.
"Mum, I have to go! Bye" I scream.
"But-But Hon, you haven't even had any breakfast!"
"Don't worry, I'll eat something. I forgot I was gonna help Georgia in her campaign"
"This girl will never change. Always running around helping everyone but herself"
"Bye! See you later mum"
I run to my car, start the ignition and start driving. The fresh air brushes against my face and I turn the radio on. I hum to the songs. Reaching school, I run into, guess. Right. None other than Nick.
"Oh! Sor-" My expression changes sour. Nick.
"You!" I accuse.
"What? You ran into me"
"Oh, I'm so sorry, Your Royal Hotness...Please forgive this poor girl" I show him no pity and go heavy on the sarcasm. I chuckle to myself. He smiles cheekily. Why the hell is he doing that?
"I see my charms are working. You called me hot" Can this idiot get any worse? I roll my eyes.
"Idiot. Ever heard of sarcasm?"
"Um, yeah I have. But have you heard of a band aid?"
" Yeah. Whatever for do you need a band aid for?"
"Cause I scraped my knee falling for you"
"You what?" I laugh. Can he get any cheesier? Just when I thought he couldn't get any worse. Made an error in judgement. Scratch that. Made a very large error in judgement.
He is grinning at the effect. I smile.
"Take a look, Nick. Do me a favor. Don't mess with me today." I say, pointing to my top.
"Oh, I see" He says.
"Now leave. I have work to do" I say, shoving him out of the way before he can say anything else.
I reach the quadrangle and see Georgia has set the table up. I run over.
"Hey! Sorry, Nick blocked my way"
"Oh, yeah. No worries, I've only just begun setting up. Still have to do quite some things."
"C'mon. I'll help"
"Yeah. Thanks."
(An hour later)
"The ice is melting! Save polar bears. Don't use plastic! Use eco-friendly items..."
"The crowd's dispersing Georgia, I think we should leave now. I have to get to Organic Chemistry." I say.
"Yeah, ok. Thanks for the help, Astoria! I really appreciate it"
"You welcome. Um, can I ask for a favour?"
"Yeah?"
"For my college resume, I need to fill up the criteria for previous working experience. Any place you know I can get a part-time job?" I needed that job to put in my resume. Plus, earning money is good.
"Um, yeah. I work at Gulliver's travels, that travel agency down the 3rd block, but I doubt you'll like it there. So, I'll see what I can do."
"Thanks."
"Anytime"
I pick up my stuff and get to the class. I am a little late, but the teacher hasn't come in, so I heave a sigh of relief. But the next thing I see, makes me hyperventilate. There is not one SINGLE empty seat, except, of course, next to Nick, and there is no way am I gonna sit next to Nick for a full 45 minutes, without ending up either ripping my own hair out, or biting his head off, and I think I'll prefer the latter.
"There's a free seat here!" Nick yells, pointing beside him.
"Ugh. No thanks Nick." I say with an air of distaste.
"Really? There's no other place to sit. Any girl would give anything to sit beside me" I get an idea just listening to him. I walk confidently towards Hannah, who's sitting next to Leo.
"Hey, Hannah. Mind sitting next to Nick over there?" I say grinning wildly.
"Um, Nick is here?" She says.
"Yeah. Look, he's right there" I point, almost laughing at the expression on Nick's face.
"You don't mind sitting next to Leo do you?" She offers.
"Not at all." That's actually what I wanted. Thanks Hannah.
"Thanks Hannah" I say. I have a feeling I'm suddenly her bestie. Oh no.
"No. Thank you...." She squeals, taking her things and rushing next to Nick, who looks sick. Ha ha.
I smile in triumph and sit down, just as the teacher strides in.
"Good Morning students. Today we will do a detailed study of hydrocarbons and their properties. I'm giving y'all a worksheet, and you have to solve it. You can discuss with your benchmate and submit day after. Good luck....and- No talking, gossiping, giggling, playing or fooling around. Attention to your work please.
I turn to face Leo.
"That was a good one" He says.
"Thanks. He deserved it."
We start on our worksheet, completing all the way till part 4. As soon as the bell rings, all of us practically jump out of our seats and scramble into the corridors. I skip to my locker. As I'm taking my pre calculus out, with a sense of resentment of course, I hear a ping on my phone. I take it out of my pocket and take a look at the notification. I glare at the screen. It's a flyer circulated by Valerie, my rival number one. Luckily, she's been absent for the past week since she contracted the flu from somewhere. But that's not gonna stop her from posting flyers on my contact just to spite me. The flyer is all in pink and white and red. It's for junior high school prom. She knows I never, ever, ever, go to prom, because there has never, ever, ever been a yes to anyone who asks me. I don't mind the actual prom, prom. I mind the touching, self concious dressing, big fluffy dresses, and always wanting to get approval from the guy. Also, I hate the way all the girls wait for someone to ask them out. If you ask me, prom is just a dance between two people. People literally make it such a big occassion, it's out of my comprehension.
Also, any guy whose ever asked me out to prom always got a curt 'sorry,no' . That's not gonna change this year either. Valerie has this 'prom fever' I like to call it cause, around more than half a year is left for prom and she's already circulating posters. Girls are gonna go balloons and start gossiping, instagramming, and planning for it right from now. Sick, ask me.
I write a reply. Just a thanks and a creepy smiley face. Callie comes over to her locker and says-"Heyya, girl. Got the promvite?"
Before you ask, 'promvite' means - prom + invite so promvite. It's a Callie thing.
"Yep. From the snow Queen herself." Also a Callie thing. She thinks it's nice to call Valerie a snow Queen cause she's so hard and cold hearted towards us. I couldn't agree more. So now Valerie is officially christened as the snow Queen.
"Sweeet. And the prom fever begins" She waves her hands like an orchestrar at the performance. I laugh. We link hands and make our way to pre calc.
Yipeee!! Chapter 3 is out, you guys. Please comment and tell me what you think Nick will do now the promvite is out....love you!
