Chapter three

Cassie got out of her bed just as her alarm went off. She grinned at the alarm which read six oh one, before padding softly to the other end of her room where she kept her yoga mat. She sat down on the mat with her legs crossed over one another, then placed two of her hands on her knees and she closed her eyes.

It has been a week now since she and Ella had seen each other. Cassie couldn't blame her,not when she was the reason why Ella stayed away. She didn't know what she was thinking when she mentioned Ella's less than perfect life. She was no coward,so today she would go and apologize to Ella.

Getting up from the mat,she hurried into the bathroom to take her bath. In the shower she began to meditate on what Ella told her before. Then she made up her mind about the whole issue. Her mom would be happy about it no doubt. She turned  the shower off, stepped out the wrapped the white towel around her body.

After toweling her body dry,she got dressed in a black knee length corduroy jeans, white tank top and brown leather jacket, then she wore her thigh length brown boots. She walked over to her dresser mirror and sat down on the small stool in front of it. She studied her reflection in the mirror.

Where her mother's eyes were a lighter shade of blue, hers was deeper and clearer. Her hair was a short blonde, parted at the side, which was so short that the end of it brushed her chin and the nape of her neck. She has a small pointed nose and a small moth with pink lips. She had her mother's round face, which had no freckle, pimple or acne. She was not exactly white like her mother but in her own way she was fair like her father. She also had a slim body and little curves in the right places.

She exactly had her small stature. Sean had left her exactly because of that. He complained that she was too small and too slim that no man would dare look at her twice. He had shattered her self confidence. Since then she had used her father's shop as her hide away from the world. Did she mention that her mother hated the flower shop?

After tucking her hair behind her ear,she got up,picked her phone and purse before going out of her room and down the stairs. She found her mom sitting on a stool in the kitchen dressed in her robe. She had a cup of coffee in one hand and a newspaper in the other.

Cassie had always loved her mom's mid back length golden blonde hair. Even in her early forties Beatrice Milton looked gorgeous and beautiful. She had a long pointed which would have looked odd on any other person's face, but on her it added to her beauty. Her red lips was pursed in distaste as she stared at the newspaper with a slight frown creasing her perfectly shaped brow. Her light blue eyes scanned the pages as if she couldn't really believe what she was seeing.

"Good morning mom." Cassie walked over to the kettle on the gas. Grabbing a clean cup from the cup rack, she rinsed it before pouring a cup of coffee for herself. She leaned against the counter where her mom cooked and raised the cup to her lips. Her mother looked up from the paper with a glare on her beautiful face.

"Don't drink my coffee without paying me." She said harshly. "And do I have to open your head and put it in it that you are to call me Beatrice and not mom?"

Cassie frowned before dumping the coffee into the sink. She washed the cup then placed it on the drainer.

"Need I remind you that you have not paid this month rent and the cake and lemonade you took yesterday?"

"Mom, I am a little low on cash." She turned to face her mom after wiping her hands on the small kitchen towel. "I'll pay you when I sell flowers today."

"When you sell flowers?" Beatrice scoffed as she set her cup down on the table in front of her. "I didn't buy the cake or lemonade in the Mart telling them I will pay when I have the money now,did I?"

"Mom--"

"Its Beatrice to you!" She shouted and was satisfied when Cassie flinched. "If you want to continue to live and eat in this house, you are going to have to pay me every cent. And I know that that filthy job you are doing would get you nowhere."

"I am a florist mom. And it's not filthy." Cassie struggled to rein in her own temper. "I will pay you today."

"Or perhaps , you should see Mckade. He pays his one week escort well and he seem to have a thing for blondes." Beatrice tossed the paper at her.

Cassie caught it,eyed her mother before studying the paper in her hand. The headlines alone told her what she needed to know. "Is Skylar Anderson another one week catch?" Of course she was.

Kaden Mckade, the youngest son of the Mckade's and CEO of Golden Homes,is really well known for his Casanova ways. No. Manwhore is a better description of him. He was handsome, yes she'll give him that. She had wondered how he would looked when she really sees him. Although they both stated in Philly, she couldn't see him. Not when he stayed up town and she stayed downtown.

Her eyes fell on the beautiful brunette beside him. She was smiling at the camera showing off her dimples. Her dress alone made Cassie think that she was more slutty than the rest of the girls Kaden had ever seen. Who the hell wears a micro mini gown, with a back so low that it stopped at her lower spine, to a fundraiser event?

Skylar Anderson is who.

Cassie knew who Skylar was. She was the daughter of the American Ambassador, Matthew Anderson and Miss world and best model 1960, Adeline Anderson. Skylar herself was a model just like her mother and she was rich and spoilt. The media showed her escapades every week. Cassie would have pitied Kaden for meeting someone like her,but she guessed they deserve each other. She can imagine what the next headline would be.

Playboy billionaire Kaden Mckade dates arrogant hot shot model Skylar Anderson.

Maybe they'll even get married. Then they'll have arrogant and players as their children. Complete family traits. She had only heard about the older Mckade,William only once. And that was when he launched his own Golden laptops and android phones company.

Aside from that, the media only ever talk about Kaden Mckade. Even their youngest sister Ansela didn't appear on the front page except for when she graduated from high school. To be honest,Cassie detested Kaden's way of treating girls.

"And what is that s'pposed to mean?" She dumped the paper into the nearest bin.

"well." Beatrice shrugged as she picked up her cup of now cold coffee. "You are obviously blonde. You will get fame and money."

"There is no way I am going to throw myself at him like some second handed slut." She balled her fist against her waist. "He is a manwhore, a stupid person who don't know how to spend his money or keep his dick in his pants." She picked her purse and her phone from where she dropped it earlier. "And since he likes blonde women," she eyed her mother's hair. "You also count. You look young and can pass for thirty. I am sure he will pay you well, Beatrice."

Cassie almost smiled as she walked out of the kitchen. She had never floored her mother before or even render her speechless and today she had done just that.

Ella would be sad to have missed the Epic look on her mother's face.

"I will."Beatrice shouted from the kitchen. "If you don't pay me this night," Beatrice appeared in the door way. "You are moving out of my house."

Cassie opened the door angrily and slammed it hard on her way out.
