Kaden sat down on the swivel chair in his office with his back to the door. He stared at the bright blue sky from the glass of the building. He had gone to check in on Annie this morning, she was stable as well as fine.

He left later,when his brother and parents arrived. He just got back from his meeting with his staff. He asked them to go on leave today. He didn't feel like talking to anyone,so he also gave Amelia off too. So he was practically the only one in the building,that is,if you don't count the security man who was in charge of locking the building.

Even Mckade Gadgets was locked too. Things were beginning to fall apart.

Kaden sighed and rubbed his face with his palm. His mind crunched over what happened two days ago,when he thought he saw Cassie. It felt so real,she was wearing the cloth she wore the day he saw her last. Maybe he saw her because he had been thinking about her. She seemed to be the only thing on his mind these days.

Kaden wondered if she was doing fine,where ever she was at the moment. Now that he even thought of it,where's Skylar?

Did she have anything to do with Cassie's disappearance? Why did she have to appear the day Cassie disappeared?

Kaden frowned as he remembered how he bumped into her at the hospital. Now that he thought about it,she was the one who ran into him and not the other way around. Did she do that to....

He sat up straight when a light bulb went off in his head. Of course. Skylar was helping Cassie,which was why she delayed him. Why didn't he think of this before?

His phone began to ring. Kaden scowled when he saw that it was William that was calling him. He picked it.

"Hello."

"Kaden,it's Will." William said from the other end of the phone.

"I know,"he snapped. "What is it?"

"It's Annie,she just woke up and she told us who attacked her. It's not Cassie."

Kaden froze when he heard the unmistakable metallic click of a gun. He turned the chair around and he knew who his brother was about to say.

"Amelia." Kaden said.

"Wait,how do you know?" William asked.

"If you are sure that you want to live,then I suggest that you hang up now." Amelia waved the gun at his phone.

"Kaden,what's going----"

Kaden pretended to hang up. He dropped the phone, facedown,on the table. Then he got to his feet,while contemplating how to take the gun from her. Unless he jump over the table to knock her to the floor,with the risk of having his brains splattered all over his table,he had no option than to wait.

"You." He accused. "What did Annie do to you?"

"She was proving to be a stumbling block for that stupid Skylar." Amelia hissed. "She's the reason why you and Cassie are together today. She had me give you that stupid dinner reservation letter to La Serenade so you'd think that it was from Cassie. She played that stupid Josie part,and made sure that she separated you and Skylar."

"Annie's Josie?"

"Yes." Amelia smirked. "You are a fool,you know."

"I know." Kaden eyed her. "Where's Cassie?"

"Where she deserved to be from the on start." Amelia's smirked deepened. "Poor baby had her heart broken when she watched that news about you. Cried until her eyes became puffy. You shouldn't ever doubt those around you."

Kaden's head began to pound. Cassie would never forgive him now. How many times did William try to tell him that Cassie didn't do it? He had let Skylar make him believe that Cassie was the culprit.

"I want to see Cassie."

You would very soon,trust me." Amelia chuckled. "Albert."

Kaden's hands curled into fists. Albert knew about this all along?

"We meet again old friend." Albert came to stand beside Sarah. "I told you to watch your back didn't I?"

"You bastard!" Kaden snarled.

Albert threw his head back and let out a loud laughter. "I've been called worse. It was really easy to get you. Sarah here made it easy."

"Sarah?"

"Yes,her real name is Sarah Jamieson." Albert smiled. "She's my wife."

"Your wife?" Kaden's voice wavered with surprise.

"Yes." Sarah smiled. "Your fiancee,Skylar was an easy pick. All Albert needed to do was allure her into his bed. She became his puppet instantly. She would have been with us now,but the girl's just so stupid. Having Albert beat her and all."

"And your side chick was also a perfect target." Albert threw a paper with blue binding cover down on the table before Kaden. "We don't have all day to talk. Go to the last page and sign there."

"What's that for?"

"It means that you are transferring everything you own to Sarah and I."

Kaden opened the paper to the last page. "Why would I want to do that?"

"One: because you don't want to die. Two: because you want to save Cassie and Skylar."

"How do I know that they're not dead?"

"I knew you would ask." Sarah held her phone up to show him a video of Cassie and Skylar. "You have your proof. Now sign."

Kaden took his pen from his pocket and did as they asked. "What now?"

Albert tossed a white handkerchief to him. "Hold that over your nose."

Kaden knew what will happen but he did it anyway.

Cassie gasped when Albert pushed an unconscious Kaden at her feet. She ignored the pain from her bad leg as she gathered his head on her good lap. They didn't tie her up,since she couldn't escape even if she wanted to. But they had tied Skylar up and because she was too hurt and weak to move,she didn't bother untying her.

After all,Skylar was also one of them. And Albert might have done that as a test to see if she would try anything foolish. Cassie had learnt her lesson in the hard way,she was not ready to go through another punishment when she had not even recovered from the first one.

"Kade." She shook him gently. "What did you do to him?" She asked Sarah who walked up to them and dumped cold water on Kaden's head.

Kaden awoke with a jolt. He sat up and began to cough while wiping his face.

"Kade." Cassie called to him.

Kaden turned around. His eyes lit up like a Christmas tree when he saw her face. "Cassie!"

"Kade." Cassie threw her arms around his neck and began to sob. "It's really you. Kade,it's really you."

Kaden buried his nose in her hair. "I'm sorry,Cassie. Forgive me."

Cassie sobbed harder." They killed Beatrice. They killed my mother."

Kaden stared down at Cassie's leg which was wrapped in a caste. His eyes darkened with Anger and he felt like killing someone. Someone whose name started with an 'A' and ended with a 'T'. You already know who.

"Wow. What a heart warming reunion." Albert clapped from where he was standing. Which was few fleets from them. "Sarah,don't you just love this couple?"

"I do." Sarah waved her gun in the air. "This looks like a scene straight out of a movie. The Lovers are kidnapped by the villains,and just when they think that they would die, someone miraculously helps them. Then they are saved and later they get married and blah! Blah!! Blah!!"

Albert scratched his stubby chin. "Yeah,you're right. Only that this movie would end the way I want it. And that involves,the villains escaping. No happy ending for the lovers."

"Why are you doing this?" Kaden glared at them over Cassie's head.

"Why do you think?" Albert glowered at him. "You have everything I have ever wanted. Family,money,fame and all the women you ever wanted. I had nothing. I watch you enjoy everything while I silently bid my time to take it all away from you.

Because of you,my only family and sister committed suicide. You dumped her like all others and the day she died,I promised her that I will avenge her. I've kept my promise."

"I didn't even sleep with your sister." Kaden shouted. "She threw herself at me but I refused."

"I don't care." Albert snatched the gun from Sarah's hand and pointed it at them." Move away from her."

Kaden gently pushed Cassie away from him. He got up and moved forward until there was few feet between them. "What are you going to do,kill me? You won't escape."

"I will." Albert smirked. "It's quite simple. Cassandra Milton kills Kaden Mckade from a fit of rage."

Kaden heard Cassie whimper,he longed to hold her in his arms and comfort her but he must be alive to do that. He blocked out her voice,his focus solely on Albert and the gun.

"Coward." Kaden taunted.

"Say goodbye." Albert pressed the Tigger.

Kaden ducked in time,so the bullet whizzed past his head. He tackled Albert to the floor. He raised his fist and got a good punch in,which knocked the gun from Albert's hand. He raised his fist to deliver another punch but Albert punched him on his nose which made him roll back.

Cassie watch their scuffle, feeling so stupid and helpless. She saw Sarah go for the gun which was resting beside Skylar's feet. She began to crawl,while praying that a miracle should happen.

Skylar waited for Sarah to bend to take the gun before raising her knee. Her knee hit Sarah squarely on her nose. She smiled behind her gag when Sarah screamed as she reared back and fell on her butt.

By the time Cassie got to Skylar,she was panting heavily. She managed to help Skylar loosen her arms,before falling on the floor moaning in pain. Skylar fell to her feet beside Cassie with tears in her eyes.

"Are you okay?" Skylar asked her.

"No." Cassie groaned.

Skylar gasped when she saw blood trailing down Cassie's left arm. "Oh my God, you've been shot!"

Kaden turned when he heard what Skylar said. Albert seized the opportunity to knock Kaden off him. He dove for the gun,grabbed it, somersaulted twice,then got to his feet the gun pointed at Kaden.

Albert spat out blood. He chuckled as he staggered on his feet. "I won in the end you bastard. Say hi to the devil for me."

Everything happened in slow motion.

Cassie saw Albert's fingers squeeze the trigger. With the last of her strength,she shoved Skylar to the side, managed to get on her feet and threw herself at Kaden. She felt the bullet tear into her.

Another gunshot sounded and voices filled the room. But Cassie didn't see or hear any of them, her eyes were trained on Kaden who was crying as he gathered her against his body.

Blood poured out of her mouth when she smiled at him. Tears trailed down her own cheeks, she touched his cheek.

"Cassie." Kaden caressed her hair. He was oblivious to the commotion going on in the room. "Cassie,don't leave me."

Cassie blinked. "Kade,you're...you're he- here with me."

Kaden kissed her cold forehead. "I am,please don't leave me."

"I-I..." Her eyes began to drift close. "I love you."

Kaden stiffened when he felt her body go limp in his arms. He felt someone shove him aside, he heard William calling his name, but he didn't hear. His mind was blank.

In the blink of an eye,he lost who he had come to love. And he never even got to tell her how much. Tears poured down his cheeks.

I love you Cassie.

But it was too late.

Phew!

I felt bad after writing this chapter. I almost cried. Poor Cassie, Gone so soon!

The chapter coming up is the last one. You will get to know if Cassie died or not. *winks* Until then...
