Chapter 4 ~ Engagement

The Oberois and Chowdharys were busy with the preparations as the engagement was in a day and wedding was to take place in five days.

Anika was the happiest as her brother was coming to India after a very long time. She was completely busy with her preparations as she had fashion week the next week while Shivaay was busy with cracking a very big deal.

On the day of engagement, the Chowdhary mansion was already decorated like a bride while Anika was still sleeping that morning.

'SPLASH'

Anika woke up with a jerk as she was completely drenched in water. She was shocked for a moment until she saw who threw water on her.

"Bhai!" Anika exclaimed in happiness while her brother smiled.
"Hey bhagwan, I got a khumbkaran princess as sister! What should I do?" Arnav spoke acting melodramatically.
"Hey bhagwan, I got a drama queen as brother! What will I do?" Anika imitated in a similar manner only to laugh their hearts out and engulf themselves into a tight hug.

"Missed you so much Anu!" Arnav said to which his sister replied back, "Me too bhai!"

He kissed her forehead, and settled themselves on the bed when they heard a voice from behind,
"Saare pyaar sirf behen ko dege? Mujhe nahi?" (All the love only to your sister? Not for me?)"

Arnav ran to the owner of the voice, his mother and tightly hugged her.
"You are my first love Mom!" Arnav said when his mother said back, "Impressed Aaru! This improvement in you will definitely bring my daughter-in-law soon!"
"I will be happy to see your daughter-in-law then!" he said laughing.

After some family talks, "Anu, go get ready. The function is going to start and you are not ready till now!" Pranavi complained.
"Yes Mom! I will get ready." she told and her mom left them.

"Anu, are you doing this marriage willingly or...!?" Arnav asked when Anika answered a bit hesitantly, "Ye..yes bhai!"
"But till a few days back, you were like I don't want marriage. Then all of a sudden? Something is fishy!" Arnav said raising one of his eyebrows.
"Arrey bhai leave na! I need to get ready." Anika said trying to avoid that conversation.

"Now something is really fishy. Tell me what it is Anu?!" Arnav questioned her but before she could speak any further, he heard Pranavi calling him.
"Coming mom!" saying Arnav left from there while Anika secretly thanked God as she didn't want to lie to her brother.

A little later, the Oberois reached the Chowdhary mansion. The three brothers were admiring the mansion's beauty when Rudra spoke out,"Bhaiyya, I think you are very desperate to see bhabhi!"
"Not at all! I was just..." Shivaay was still saying when Anika descended down the stairs with her brother by her side.

Shivaay was awestruck that he couldn't take his eyes off her. He was so into her that he didn't even know Rudra was talking to him.
"Bhaiyya!" called out Rudra almost shouting in his ears.
"Rudra! What was this for?" Shivaay asked hell shocked while Om laughed at his elder brother.

"What happened Om? At least you tell?!" Shivaay asked when Rudra responded,"You were very busy lost into bhabhi! That's why I had to shout!"
Shivaay tried to tell something when Arnav joined them and introduced himself to the rest.

The ceremony started, and Shivaay and Anika were made to stand next to each other. They involuntarily smiled looking at each other, both searching for words to start a conversation.

"Looking pretty Anika" Shivaay said finally.
"Thanks Billuji" She said but soon bit her tongue for the way she referred him while Shivaay was shocked to hear that from her.
"Fhat the wuck! Don't you call me that!" Shivaay whispered in her ears.
"Sorry billu... I mean Shivaay!" Anika said back trying to control her laugh.

Shivaay was about to tell something when they were told to exchange their rings. While exchanging, they looked at each other, lost into themselves until Rudra hollered in exuberance,"Yay Bhaiyya, mujhe BHABHI mil gaya!" and hugged his brothers.

Shivaay danced along with his brothers, later joined by the Oberois and the Chowdharys. In that process, Anika was pushed towards Shivaay making her fall on him. They were being encouraged to dance, and they had to as well, though for the sake of their families.
