Chapter 12: Meet and Greet

Niall’s P.O.V.

I was sleeping on my couch, when I was woken up by an annoying pinging sound. I thought I was dreaming, so I tried to go back to sleep. When it kept continuing, I realized that it was my doorbell.

“I’m coming!” I bellowed.

I flopped off the couch and slouched to the door. I rubbed by eyes before opening it. It was a girl… it was Brielle, looking sexy as hell, I might add.

“Brielle?” I asked.

She looked like a deer caught in the headlights. I noticed it was pouring. My eyes trailed down her body and back up. She was soaking wet, and her dress was stuck to her body. Her makeup was running down her face, giving her black racing stripes and her hair was plastered to her face. Her heels were in her hand.

“I was just wondering if I could use your phone.” Brielle said.

“Sure,” I said, moving aside so she could come in.

As she walked past me, my eyes dropped to her arse. What? I’m a guy, I can’t help it! And speaking about her arse, it looked even sexier than the rest of her.

“Here,” I said, handing her my phone.

Brielle’s P.O.V.

I stood in shock, staring at Niall. Out of all the flats in London, I chose Niall’s. My luck just sucks. I blushed as I noticed his eyes traveling all over my body. I don’t think he noticed he bit his lip.

“I was wondering if I could use your phone,” I said, considerably quieter than before.

“Sure,” Niall said, moving aside.

As I walked past him, I could feel him staring at my arse. I felt uncomfortable, so I turned around.

He handed me his phone. I dialed my mom’s number. Please pick up, please pick up, please pick up, I begged as it rang. It went to her voicemail. I hung up and handed Niall his phone back.

“She didn’t answer?” he asked.

“Nope,” I said.

I was shivering violently. Niall’s heating system was helping, but my wet clothes were not. Niall seemed to notice that I was shivering.

“Here, let me get you some dry clothes. I’ll dry yours,” he said and walked off before I could protest.

I stood there awkwardly as he returned. He handed me a bunch of clothes and directed me to the bathroom. Once I was in and locked the door, I leaned against the door and closed my eyes. What the hell is happening? I asked myself. I am staying in the house of the boy I rejected. I changed quickly, realizing that they were his clothes. They were too big for me, so the sweats hung low, and the T-shirt came down to about mid-thigh.

I walked out and found Niall on the couch. I sat down on a chair near him with my clothes bunched in my hand.

“Here,” Niall said, holding out his hand.

I handed him my clothes and waited awkwardly while he was gone. I was still shivering slightly. When Niall came back, he frowned.

“Are you still cold?” he asked.

I shook my head. “N-not really,” I answered. Damn my chattering teeth.

Niall shook his head. “Yes, you are. Here,” he handed me a blanket.

I wrapped it around my shoulders, sighing at the immediate warmth it I wrapped it around my shoulders, sighing at the immediate warmth it provided. “Thank you,” I said. “I feel much better.”

There was an awkward silence.

“Awkward!” Niall sing-songed, making me crack a smile in spite of myself.

“Really?” I asked. “People still do that?”

“You act like you’re old,” Niall replied.

“I am old,” I said. “I’m no longer a teenager.”

“That makes me old,” Niall complained.

“You are old,” I said.

Niall made a funny sound as he stuck his tongue out. I stuck mine out in response, and we laughed.

“So, do you like singing at Starbucks?” Niall asked.

“Well, it’s nice having a regular job,” I replied. “And I love to sing, so it’s not even a job.”

“I feel the same way about my singing career,” Niall said, smiling at me.

“Well, I’m not one of the biggest boy band members in the world,” I said. “I’m just famous at Starbucks.”

“Which is worldwide,” Niall pointed out. “So in a way, you are kind of famous around the world.”

“Shut up,” I said, leaning over and pushing him.

He wasn’t expecting it, so he fell off the couch. I giggled as he jumped up, looking murderous.

“You did not just push me off the couch,” he said.

“Yes I did,” I said, smirking at him.

Niall jumped up and started tickling me. I giggled and tried to push him off me. He fell on top of me, squishing my arm to my side. He reached my tickle spot, which just so happened to be my stomach, and I scream-squealed, and squirmed even more. Niall laughed, and it was one of the most beautiful laughs I have ever heard in my life. Loud and clear, and contagious.

“Maybe we should come back,” an amused voice said.

I jumped so violently that Niall slid off me, onto the floor. I quickly rearranged my hair and looked at the person. Four boys stood there, all of them laughing.

“Boys!” Niall said, scrambling to his feet. “I forgot you were coming over!”

“I can tell,” one with brown hair and blue eyes said. “You were with a lady friend!”

I blushed, and Niall did too. Another boy, with brown curly hair and green eyes approached me.

“Brielle, I’m Harry. Nice to meet you properly,” he said.

My jaw dropped. “H-how do you know my name?”

“I read your diary too,” Harry said matter-of-factly.

“What diary?” the brown haired boy from before asked curiously.

“Nothing,” I said quickly, not being able to hide the blush on my cheeks.

“Brielle, this is Louis, Liam, Zayn, and you know Harry,” Niall quickly introduced me.

“I’ll just go then,” I muttered, after nodding hello.

I got up, leaving the blanket and walked away. I got into the hall before I realized I had no idea where my clothes were. “Shit,” I muttered, looking around.

“Whoa, didn’t expect that coming out of such a pretty girl’s mouth,” Niall said, coming up to me. When I scowled at him, he backtracked. “Look, I’m sorry about the lads, I forgot they were coming over, and they just like to have a laugh.”

“It’s okay,” I muttered, immediately feeling bad. “I just don’t want to intrude.”

“No, you aren’t!” Niall said. “I like having you around, you’re fun! And it’s still raining and your clothes aren’t dry yet.”

Cruel logic forbids my escape. “Okay,” I said.

I followed Niall back to the living room, where I found the boy, Louis, I think, sitting on my blanket.

“That’s my blanket,” I said, pointing to it.

“No it’s not,” he replied, looking up at me. “It’s Niall’s!”

I shrugged. “Okay fine, if I freeze to death I hope it will be on your conscience.”

Louis blinked at me. The other boys’ oooed and Louis handed me my blanket. My brief exposure to the coldness of Niall’s apartment made me start shivering again.

“Umm, w-why don’t you sit on my lap?” Niall offered, nervous.

I blinked as the boys’ awwwed this time.  I turned to them. “Don’t you guys do anything but ooh and aww?” I asked. “Niall was trying to be nice.

I climbed onto Niall’s lap and he wrapped his arms around me, warming me up. The boy was incredibly warm. He was also extremely close, and I was slightly uncomfortable.

“Relax,” Niall whispered in my ear. “I’m not going to hurt you.”

I relaxed into his chest and it was a lot more comfortable. I also felt safe.  No one had ever made me feel like this, not even James. Niall did the same thing back on the bridge.

“Well aren’t they the cutest couple,” Louis said, and me and Niall both blushed.
