"Manik, why did you go back?" Alya asked furiously. "Because I don't want to drive now, I'm tired" he said resting his head.

"Nandini tum front seat mein aa jao, only I should sit beside him, get up" Alya demanded Nandini. "Alya, I'm not feeling well, I need to take rest" Nandini sounded polite. Alya tried to force her but Aryaman intervened.

"Alya, neither Nandini nor your Manik is interested in sitting together, just like us. Kabhi kabhi ek dusre ko jhelna padta hai, just like me and Nandini are tolerating you both" Aryaman smirked.

"Aryaman, you speak a lot ab thoda driving pe bhi concentrate karlo" Manik cut him in between to avoid any further arguments with Alya and Aryaman. Nandini drifted off to sleep as soon as journey started.

Manik felt tired and plugged in his earphones to listen to songs. He closed his eyes as he heard soothing music. He felt something on his shoulder. He opened his eyes to see Nandini resting her head on his shoulder. He tried moving her without Alya and Aryaman's knowledge.

He looked at her but couldn't move her. He adjusted her head so that she doesn't wake up and she held his arm in the sleep. Little smile crawled on his lips when he find her adorable. Alya would have got furious seeing them but they thankfully escaped as Alya was tired and slept. Aryaman reached the place where the medical camp is arranged at around 1 in the midnight.

He saw Nandini and Manik. He got down from the car and woke her up. "Nandini" he called out and she woke up with a jerk. She realized her position and quickly adjusted. Manik took his hand from hers. An awkward silence creeped in between them.

"Shall I take down the luggage" he asked her. "Nandini got down and helped Aryaman to take down their luggage. Manik took it and went to his room which was already arranged.

"Rooms ready hai na?" Manik asked the staff who came early for the preparations. "Yes sir, everything is ready". They all went to get freshened up and retired to bed. Manik messaged his mom that he reached and switched off the light to sleep. He heard someone knocking on the door.

He opened the door to see Alya in front of him. "What are you doing here at this hour Alya?" he spoke as his energy drained off. "Mere room mein water leak ho raha hai, I can't sleep there" she said.

"Then go to Nandini's room you can sleep with her" he said. "How can I sleep with her! Whatever, Manik I'll sleep here please mana mat karna" she asked making a cute face.

He thought for a minute and said OK. Alya is on cloud nine hearing him. "Wow Manik, I thought you will not agree but thank you so much, come aaj raat hum nahi soenge, we'll just talk about us, just like the old times" she said excitedly.

"Old times were always good Alya but I don't want to go back so I'm going out" he took his phone beside the bed post and left leaving her alone. He did not know what to do as there were no extra rooms available and everyone might be sleeping. He went to Alya's room just beside Nandini's room. He saw water leakage from the walls. He heard Nandini coughing continuously. He couldn't sleep even though he felt sleepy.

He came out and saw Aryaman walking towards Nandini's room. "Where are you going at this hour?" he asked with his sleepy eyes. "Nandini is not feeling well she called me so I'm going to give medicine" Aryaman replied and went to her room. He came after a while and asked Manik, "Aap iss waqt yaha kya kar rahe hai?" he asked Manik.

"Alya is sleeping in my room, there's water leakage in this room" he said. "If you don't mind you can share room with me" Manik wanted to deny but he couldn't as he really felt tired and sleepy. He went to Aryaman's room and slept.

He woke up next morning and found himself alone in the room. He wondered about Aryaman. He went out and bumped into Aryaman. "Good morning sir" Aryaman wished him. "Where were you all the while? Did you sleep last night?" he asked.

"Nandini ki tabiyat theek nahi hai so I had to be there for her" Aryaman said genuinely. "Oh I never knew that you were of so help to someone" he spat at him. "Aap ka problem kya hai? That I'm helping Nandini! In that case you helped Alya last night tabhi tho aap room se baahar nikal gaya" Aryaman smirked. They saw Nandini walking there.

"How are you Dr. Nandini?" Manik asked. "She must be tired" Aryaman said. "I didn't ask you Aryaman" Manik snapped at him. "But she can't talk, uska gala baith gaya tha, she had throat infection and she is unable to speak" Aryaman said and Nandini looked at them.

"Nandini, are you okay now? Tumhe kuch chahiye!" Aryaman asked. Nandini nodded as no and smiled at him. Aryaman went in to freshen up and Manik saw Nandini standing there. "If you want you can take rest, I will manage" he said. Nandini nodded no. Alya came there. "Manik, you can go to room now" she said and he left from there.

Everyone got ready and reported to Manik. "Sir, yaha se 4 kilometer ke door mein ek thaanda hai, we have informed them but they didn't come to register in the medical camp" someone informed Manik.

"Agar wo yaha nahi aayenge tho hum wahi jaayenge, that's what actually medical camp is for, to serve the poor and needy, if we can't treat them until they register then this camp is of no use" Manik said and others nodded. "Par yaha ke patients zyada ho tho few of us had to stay back here" Alya pointed.

"Yeah, we'll see the number of patients and then decide who all will stay back here, meanwhile some of you go and get them registered, based on the no. of patients hum afternoon waha aayenge" he instructed his team and went to check on the patients. While Nandini just wrote the admission notes as she couldn't speak.

Alya and Manik saw few patients. "Manik, here's the list of patients registered" she gave him a list of patients. "Sir, waha kam se kam 2 ya 3 doctors chahiye hoga" the person who went to check said Manik. "Cool then, I'll arrange someone here and 3 of us will go there, we'll return back by night" he said. They had lunch together while Aryaman got medicines for Nandini.

"Don't you think they are in love?" Alya said Manik. "Huh, I don't think so" he shrugged it off. "Aryaman cares for her, no matter how rude he is so caring towards her" Alya smiled seeing Nandini and Aryaman's together. Manik looked at them and called Aryaman.

"Yes sir" he came to Manik. "Aryaman, 3 doctors has to go there so you will be managing here, you know Dr. Nandini cannot speak today" Manik talked and he interrupted, "And no one can bear Alya" he said casually. "What?" Manik narrowed his eyes.

"I mean Dr. Alya cannot bear the people here" he said and Manik ignored him. "Yaha tho utna patients nahi hai, what will I do here?" Aryaman complained. "Hum koi picnic pe nahi aaya you have lots of work to do" Manik said as he looked clearly annoyed by Aryaman.

"I will tell you what to do, come with me" he took him and told Nandini and Alya to get ready to leave. "Aryaman, these people are so unsophisticated that you need to inform and educate them on health and hygiene" Aryaman looked confused.

"Ab mujhe karna kya hai?" he asked Manik. "Simple, you will teach them how to wear diapers to a baby" Manik said. "What? Main diaper! Mujhse nahi hoga" Aryaman backed off. "C'mon Aryaman, I know you can do it, after all bade talented ho tum" Manik smirked at Aryaman. He left from there with Nandini and Alya.

Abhimanyu called Mukti for lunch at the canteen. He waited for her until she got free. "I'm sorry, was I late?" Mukti asked as she got late".

"No, main abhi aaya, let's have lunch" he suggested. "OK" she sat with him. "So yummy, tumne banaya!" she asked as she ate. "Hmm, I would love to experiment with food" he said serving her more. "Nice" she said. "C'mon don't be so formal Mukti we're friends now" he said and smiled slyly. After lunch he passed through the pediatric ward. Nurse gave his reports to him. "Sir, aapke general test ka reports" he took it from her.

He also saw Ishitha name in the list. "Wait, why is Dr. Ishitha's name in the list?" he asked her. "ma'am ko bhi uski reports dena hai" she said. "But she didn't gave the samples" he wondered. "May I see the reports?" he asked the nurse while she is in dilemma. "Take it" he offered money to her. "Sir, Dr. Ishitha asked me not to give it to anyone" she revealed. "Don't worry main kisi ko nahi bataunga, I will see that your name isn't involved" he said.

She handed over the reports to him. "Yeah I will return within few moments" he took it to his cabin. He saw the reports and is beyond shocked. "Dr. Ishitha has leukemia!" he studied the reports and found that it is not advanced stage. He thought why did she deny to give reports or talked to some doctor about her condition. He wondered if she knew about her condition.

He returned the reports to the nurse. He wanted to talk to Ishitha about it but decided against it to see what she will do. He decided not to tell anyone about it without her consent.

At the medical camp, Aryaman found it difficult to handle the villagers. Everyone laughed at him. Manik asked and requested everyone to register themselves for the medical camp. Nandini registered the appointments. He instructed Alya to check the patients.

"Doctor saheba, this is my daughter in law, 4 months pregnant" an old woman came with a girl. "Oh, general pregnancy check up ke liye aaye ho kya?" she asked. "Nahi, isko 2 ladkiya hai aur theesri baar bhi ladki hi hone wali hai, abortion karwana hai" she told her.

"Aapko kaise pata ki baby ladki hai ya ladka?" Alya asked. "We went to town and the doctor said its a girl, iske husband iski abortion karwana chahta hai" she said. "You should have done that earlier it's not safe for either of them now" she advised.

"But my son will beat out of the blue. He told her to get the baby aborted" the old woman pleaded crying. "Aap please rona mat" she calmed her down. "Please doctor, abort my baby" the girl pleaded too. Alya found her in a vulnerable state. "See, abortion karne ka matlab tumhara jaan jayega, can't you afford a baby, if you can't why did you become pregnant?" she asked her.

"Alya! Stop it" Manik came there. "Manik, I was just" she tried to talk but he cut her off. "See, it's not advisable to get the baby aborted now" Manik clarified. "You requested us to register and now you are not doing what we asked for" the old woman raised her voice.

"Bachche paida hone se pehle hi Wo ladka ya ladki hai ye jaan na crime hai, police main complain kar du?" he asked her. She got scared hearing about police. "Aap isse ghar le jaayiye ache khaana khilana" he advised her. He also gave some money to her.

"Humko bas iss bachchi ko maarna hai, paisa nahi chahiye" the girl's husband came there. "Hum yaha nahi karenge" Manik said without loosing his calm. "Aap hi ne bola ki free medical camp hai, tho" he asked Manik.

"Free camp matlab yaha hum abortion nahi karte" Manik threatened him saying that he will call police. They left from there. "Manik, why do you take the risk all the time?" he said. "This is my job Alya, being a doctor is not just my profession it's my passion, I always wanted to be a doctor" he said.

"But Manik sometimes I'm scared" she said. "Tum kya chahthi ho kya nahi atleast tumhe tho clarity hai na!" he asked. "Manik, please" she said. "C'mon Alya, you always wanted to talk with me and now when I'm actually talking about you, why are you stopping me?" he asked looking into her eyes.

"Tumne iss profession ka apmaan kiya aur mera mazaak banaaya sabke saamne" he snapped at her and she is scared. It started raining all of a sudden. Light drizzle cooled down the climate. Everyone started dispersing.

"Bolo Alya, why did you leave me? Do you know how much I waited for you to come back one day saying that you realized your mistake" he said with pain evident in his voice. "You thought your career is more important than me, you never wanted to be with me or my family" he said sadly.

"Manik, I'm very sorry, uss din mujhe wo sab kehna nahi chahiye tha" she said with tears. He went and sat in the car. He waited for her to come. "I don't have all day Alya" he snapped at her. She calmly sat and they drove in silence. They reached the place and he saw Aryaman. Manik couldn't meet his eyes with Alya.

The days he spent with her, how much he loved her, how she left him for her modelling passion, she wanted Manik to shift to New York after marriage with her. Manik never wanted to leave his mom. Flashes of memories being with Alya crossed his mind. He didn't even observed when Aryaman came to him. He realized that is Aryaman when he is just away from him

"Aryaman, Mujhe abhi kuch baat nahi karni hai" Manik said before he could say anything as he is already annoyed.

"Where is Nandini? I didn't see her coming with you" Manik then suddenly remembered leaving Nandini there alone.
