"Good morning officer, please have a seat" Mukti offered to the policeman. "What would you like to have sir?" she asked him and Dr. Shrivastav came there. "Good morning inspector, I'm Dr. Shrivastav" Raman introduced himself. They talked for a while and Mukti asked a ward boy to call Nandini. She came there within no time as soon as she came to know that police came for interrogation. Manik saw Nandini going to Mukti's cabin and was curious to know what's going on. He entered Mukti's cabin along with Nandini. "Good morning sir" Nandini wished Raman. "Inspector, this is Dr. Nandini, I told you about her on phone and this is Dr. Manik" they both greet the policeman.

"Dr. Nandini, are there any disputes between you and Dr. Alya?" police asked her. "Not major but Dr. Alya always interferes with me" she says. "Dr. Shrivastav said that you are her local guardian, since how long you know Dr. Alya?" police asked Manik. "Dr. Alya was my junior since house surgency and we were in same medical college too, later she moved to New York, she has a sister who lives there. She is also a family friend so I have signed as her guardian as her sister is not here" he replied. "Did you see Dr. Nandini pushing Dr. Alya?" police asked Manik. "I think Nandini has pushed Alya by mistake" Manik said looking at Nandini. "You think! but we need proof to file a case" police continued, "yesterday Dr. Shrivastav said that you said no but now you think that it might be an accident and Dr. Nandini herself accepting that she and Dr. Alya are not on good terms, all this proves that Dr. Nandini did it" police cleared his point. "Yes inspector, I came running to see that Nandini pushed Alya and Dr. Manik also came from the other side, not only us everyone who was there saw that" Mukti said.

"But zaruri nahi hai ki aap sab jo dekhe wo sahi ho" Nandini talked as Mukti stopped. "Who are you trying to fool Nandini, are you saying that we are framing you in this?" Mukti asked her. "But ma'am ye prove karne ke liye aap ke paas koi saboot hai?" Nandini questioned. "So do you have any proof?" police asked her. "Yes" Manik looked at Nandini. "This is Alya's phone, her camera was on when we met yesterday, see the photos, I got the data retrieved" she said. Police saw the photos and the recent photo was taken at the common room but the photo is twisted and was taken when she fell down. "Isme tho kuch dikh nahi raha hai na" police asked and forwarded phone to Manik. "Yeah there's nothing and how can this be a proof" Manik asked Nandini. "Alya ka phone neeche gir gaya tha, she slipped after taking phone, that was when I tried to hold her but unfortunately I was framed as if I pushed her" Nandini explained. Just then Cabir entered in. "Sir, Alya ko hosh aaya hai" he said. "That's great, we will go to her, her statement is important in this case" police said but Nandini stopped them. "Sir, please give me a last chance to prove my innocence" Nandini pleaded him. "Dr. Nandini you can't go and talk to Alya like that, she might be in trauma and we don't know how she will react" Manik interrupted her. This caused immense pain to Nandini as she didn't expect Manik to say that. She literally hated the fact that everyone believed that she pushed Alya.

"Don't worry sir, I promise I won't hurt her" she said with a shaken voice to Manik. He couldn't meet her eyes while she talked, one can make out how hurt Nandini is looking at her. Police agreed to her and they went. She asked everyone to be outside the ward and asked police to come along with her. "Hi Dr. Alya" police greeted her. "Dr. Alya, how are you feeling now" Nandini asked Alya with an extra sugar coated voice. "Better, but why are you here and ye police yaha kyu aaya hai?" she asked Nandini.

"You fell down yesterday and everyone believes Dr. Manik has pushed you as he was the only one in front of you when you fell down" Nandini lied to her. "What! why would Manik do that? No he didn't push me sir, and Nandini tum bhi wahi thi na, didn't you see that I fell down myself and Manik didn't push me, then why all this?" Alya panicked hearing that Manik is being framed. "Are you sure Dr. Alya that no one pushed you and it was just an accident" police asked to confirm. "Yes I'm 100% sure no one pushed me" she said. "Thank you" he said and left along with Nandini.

Dr. Shrivastav, along with Manik and Mukti heard everything Alya said. "She says this is an accident doctor, Navya, Cabir and Aryaman also came there. "We're sorry Dr. Nandini, but ye sab aap ne kaise kiya" police asked. "Sir I thought her phone might have captured some photo yesterday so I took her phone but there are no photos available to prove my point, but then Dr. Abhimanyu came as my savior, he already told me that Alya has regained her consciousness. So we both planned this, in fact I was actually waiting for someone to come and say that Alya is awake" she said. Dr. Abhimanyu came there.

"Thank you for helping us doctor, I think I should leave now" police thanked Abhimanyu and left. "Dr. Mukti ye kya kiya tumne, aaj tak life line ke administration mein police involved hi nahi the, but aaj tere wajhe se" Raman scolded Mukti for being irresponsible and accusing Nandini without any proof. "Sir, whoever saw that thought the same, isme Mukti ma'am ki galti nahi thi" Nandini said. "I'm sorry Nandini, I was mistaken" Mukti said. "It's okay ma'am" she replied. Everyone dispersed. "So Dr. Nandini as promised, you will give a treat to me right?" Abhimanyu asked her. "Yes sir, sure" she replied. "Actually nahi chahiye I just tried to help you" he winked and left. Manik looked at her and took a step forward to apologize her.

But he couldn't gather his courage seeing her. He doesn't know what to speak. Cabir, Aryaman and Navya hugged Nandini and Manik left. He heard Navya saying, "Acha hua ki Alya ko sahi time mein hosh aaya hai, warna kya hotha tha I can't even imagine." "Warna kya hota tha Navya, say it na. Alya would surely wake up one day and by some means I will be proved innocent, if not today some other day because I'm innocent" Nandini talked in her high pitch. "Uska matlab wo nahi tha Nandini" Cabir defended Navya. "So I'm the one who always misunderstand you guys right, tum sab tho always you interpret correct na" they could see Nandini frustrated. "Tum baat ko kaha se kaha le ja rahe ho Nandini" Aryaman said as Navya cried hearing Nandini.

"No, I actually don't belong here. I think I should leave" said Nandini and left the room. Manik heard their conversation and realized how hurt Nandini is. He thought that this is not the right time to talk to her and dropped the idea of meeting her. "Navya, ab tum shuru mat ho jao yaar" Aryaman said. Cabir sat by her side and patted her back. "Madhubala, it's okay wo humari friend hai na, gusse mein thi, just brush it aside, c'mon cheer up, aise rone se tumhara makeup karab hoga" he gave a tissue to her. She took it and said "No I don't apply make up" she said wiping her tears. They laughed and went back to work.

"Hey Mukti" Dr. Abhimanyu came to her. "Hi" she said. "Are you feeling low?" he asked her. "No, why would I?" she replied casually. "I thought your dad scolded you so" he got interrupted by her, "first of all, he is our dean and that was really my mistake and thanks for you too" she said. "Why?" he asked. "Because you even saved me today, warna I would have felt guilty for Nandini all life, uska career karab ho jata mere wahje se" she said. "You're welcome, but I never thought you would apologize Nandini because it takes a lot of courage to do that and I'm happy that my Mukti has that" he said lost in her.

"my Mukti? excuse me!" he gulped as he is caught by her. "I mean my friend Mukti has that courage and I'm proud of her" he searched for words. "Coffee?" he asked her out for canteen. "Not now actually bahut kaam hai, may be some other time" she gently rejected and he left from there. Alya came to know that not Manik but Nandini was being framed by her nurse. Manik just came there. "Hi Alya, how are you feeling now?" he asked.

"I didn't know that because of me there has been much chaos in the hospital" she said. "No Alya, don't panic everything is fine now" he assured her. Nandini came to see Alya and saw Manik holding Alya's hands to console her. "Nandini!" Alya called her in. "I would have said the truth even if you say you're being framed Nandini, Manik ka naam use karne ka zarurat nahi hai, it shows that you still don't forgave me" Nandini said. "No I didn't mean it Alya. I have nothing against you and I don't need to forgive you even, we are here to work and we'll do that. I hope you are fine now, thank you" she saw Manik who stood up by now and left. Manik didn't understood why he couldn't talk to her. He got Vibha to meet Alya and said Alya that Vibha now knew everything about them.

He met Dr. Abhimanyu in the canteen. "Hey Manik, what's up bro" he greeted Manik. "Thanks yaar, you saved Nandini today" Manik said. "This is not even December nor thanks-giving month but everyone is thanking me" he joked. "But wait, why are you thanking me? that too for saving Nandini! Hmm" Manik is quick to note his sarcasm. "Abhi, I would have felt guilty if Nandini's career is at stake" he said. "After all she refused to marry you for the career only" he reminded Manik. "Thank you, my human reminder, but no thanks, mujhe kaam hai, I'm going" he stood to leave. "Wait, even Mukti thanked me for saving Nandini, but wo alag baat hai, but usne jo Nandini ko sorry ko bola tha na, dil jeet liya" Abhimanyu complimented Mukti. Manik also thought of apologizing Nandini but he didn't want it to discuss it with Abhimanyu.

"I must find a way to apologize her, warna Nandini you'll not let me sleep" he thought to himself with an involuntary smile on his lips.
