Nandini is shocked to hear it. "Aap kya bol rahe ho, hua kya hai?"

"Main hospital pahunch ke bathathi hu" she cut the call. "Manik sir tho OT main hai, how will I tell him? Yes, I will tell Dr. Abhimanyu" she runs to meet Abhimanyu.

"Excuse me sir" she knocked on his door. "Dr. Nandini!" he warmly smiled at her and called her in. "Manik sir ki mom ko accident hua and he is in OT" she said in one go. "What? Let's go" they rushed out and saw Nyonika lying unconscious.

He joined her in the hospital. "Bahut blood loss hua hai, first aid karenge" Abhimanyu took her in the ward.

"Chachi ye sab kaise hua?" Nandini asked her chachi. "Pata nahi Nyonika ji mujhe mall mein mili hai, suddenly wo behosh hokar gir gayi, she fell from certain height that she is injured badly, then I remembered you within no time I got her here, usse kuch hoga nahi na" her chachi panicked.

"Thank God, you brought her here, Manik sir jaise OT se baahar aaye, I will inform him" she said to her chachi.

"Nandu, you never told me that you work with Manik!" Nandini is unexpectedly caught by her chachi. She never told them that she and Manik work in the same hospital.

Her chachi is worried for Nyonika's well being while Abhimanyu is treating her. She remembered that Manik will be out any moment now and goes to meet him.

"Tum itni dumb kaise ho sakti ho, don't you know that you should switch off your phone in the OT" Manik sounded annoyed seeing Nandini as soon as he saw her.

"Sir, aapke mom ko accident hua. She has been admitted in hospital, Abhimanyu sir usse treat kar raha hai" Nandini didn't even complete the sentence and Manik rushed to see his mom.

"Sir please Aap tension mat lijiye", Nandini tried her best to calm him down. Manik is on verge of tears seeing his mom on the bed. Nandini went away from him seeing Abhimanyu coming to talk to him.

"Manik I think aunty ki blood pressure low hone ki wajhe se wo behosh ho gayi, she fell down that there's a heavy blood loss, she needs blood transfusion" he said to Manik and asked him to calm down.

"But maa ki blood group O negative hai, it's not easy to find" Manik said worried for his mom.

"Beta humara Nandu ka bhi O negative blood group hai, tum chahe tho test kar sakte ho" chachi told them who overheard their discussion.

"Brilliant, Manik let's just not waste time, we'll ask Nandini" Abhimanyu said but Manik stays silent.

"Tum soch kya rahe ho?" Abhimanyu didn't understand Manik's unease to talk to Nandini. "Main Nandini se baat karungi" chachi said and left to see Nandini.

"I don't think wo maan jayegi" Manik said after a while. "At least hum try tho kar sakte hai na" Abhimanyu didn't lose hope.

"We are just wasting time Abhi, call to all the blood banks available, we need to figure out something" Manik said to Abhimanyu.

Abhimanyu went to see Nandini who walked away from her chachi. "I told you that she will not agree, let's just try for something else" he suggested. Manik and Abhimanyu contacts the hospital blood bank and other NGOs. They seek help from Dr. Shrivastav's help. They try by all means but of no use.

"Excuse me sir" Manik and Abhimanyu turned to see Cabir. "Sir, I will be assisting you in this case" he informed Abhimanyu. "But why? I mean Nandini was already there" Abhimanyu asked him.

"Sir, I need to get permission from Mukti ma'am to donate blood so I asked her to replace someone for me and I also took an off so that I can go early after the procedure, maine apni vitals check bhi karwaya" Nandini informed him.

"Yes sir, Aap sign kiya tho we will start the treatment" Cabir handed over the papers to Manik. Abhimanyu thanked her and urged Manik to sign. As soon as Manik signed, Cabir and Abhimanyu rushed along with Nandini. Manik felt relaxed but guilty to think low about Nandini.

He saw chachi waiting for Nandini and went to meet her. "Aunty thank you so much maa ko sahi time pe hospital laane ke liye" he thanked her from the bottom of his heart. "It's okay beta tumhari Maa jaldi theek ho jayegi, don't worry" she smiled at him. "Actually mujhe Nandini ko bhi thanks kehna hai" he said awkwardly. He didn't expect her to do this.

"No there's no such formality, wo bhi doctor hai na, tho bas apni kaam kar rahi hai wo" Manik is moved by chachi's sweet gesture. He takes an off for the rest of the day. Dr. Shrivastav also helps him in every way possible. Manik asked Abhimanyu if his mom is doing well.

"Nothing to worry Manik, she will recover but thoda time lagega, blood abhi hum transfuse kar raha hai" Manik is dying to talk to his mother.

"Mujhe Nandini se bhi thanks kehna hai" Manik admitted. "Yes, you should warna wo khoon ke badle mein khoons maangi tho! " Abhimanyu made a horrified face.

"Shut up Abhi main genuinely usse thank you bolna chahunga" he said, "but how to say it" he puzzled whether to talk to her or not.

"Idea, muh se hi bol do" Manik is tired of Abhimanyu's jokes by now. "I think I can atleast drop them home utna tho main kar sakta hu na" he left to meet them

"Aunty, if you don't mind can I drop you home, please mana mat kijiye" Manik obliged chachi.

"Nahi beta it's not needed we'll go by cab anyway, I'm looking for Nandini to be normal" she politely rejected him.

"Aunty please at least mujhe itna karne ka chance tho dijiye" Manik insisted and she thinks for a moment. "Aap please mana mat kijiye" she agreed after Manik's continuous requests. Nandini comes there and chachi informed her that Manik will drop them home.

"What's the need chachi, I already booked a cab" Aryaman helped her with her things. "Ha aunty maine Nandini se kaha ki that I will drop you both but she booked a cab already" Aryaman interfered.

"But why can't I drop them Aryaman, they have done so much for me" Manik proved his point. "Nandu, Manik is constantly requesting me tum cab cancel karo hum issi ke saath jaayenge, ek minute mujhe tumhara chacha ka call aa raha hai, I will be back in a minute" she excused herself and went aside.

Aryaman and Manik gets into a fight over who will drop them home. Nandini tried to calm down Aryaman. Manik controls his anger as Nandini defended Aryaman. She sends Aryaman back.

"I can't believe that your help is also such violent, why can't you just let me go myself" Nandini spoke to him rudely. "I was just trying to help Nandini, don't get any wrong ideas" he mocked at her. "Oh I never knew help zabardasti bhi kar sakte hai" Manik couldn't reply as chachi comes back.

"Shall we move?" she asked and moved along with Nandini and Manik. He walked towards his car while they followed him. Chachi sat in the back seat and Nandini came on other side.

"Main tumhara driver nahi hu so you can take the front seat" he said quietly. "Har cheez mein meri galtiya dhoondna hi aapka kaam hai kya" she said in a low voice.

"Chupchaap front seat pe baith jaana, even I don't want to create any scene now I'm already tired" he said as low as he could but sounded harsh. She didn't argue this time and sat silently as he opened the door. She could clearly understand that he is upset as he banged on the door.

He played songs in the car to kill the silence but he couldn't concentrate on the songs. He took other road and that's when Nandini stopped him. "You should take left from here not right" she held his hand. He jerked off her, she felt hurt.

He took a U-turn and dropped them home. Chachi thanked him. Nandini is shocked by his cold behavior. "Nandini" he called her. She looked back to see her bag in his hands. "Chachi I will get my bag" she said and went back to him.

"Thanks for what you did today" he said without an expression. "We thank only when the other person matter to us, and I clearly know that I don't matter to you sir, I've heard what you told Dr. Abhimanyu. I came there to tell you that I will talk to Mukti ma'am but aapke baatein sun'ne ke baad I couldn't tell anything" she said.

"So you eavesdropped our conversation" he said making Nandini furious. "Fine, I understood there's no point in telling you anything, bye goodnight" she gritted her teeth while he went back to his car without even replying. He drove back to hospital to see his mom.

"If I had energy I would have killed him then and there" she mumbled as she came in. She took rest. Manik saw Alya packing up her things and is ready to leave. He dragged Alya to a corner so that no one can see them.

"Manik! Ye tum kya kar rahe ho?" she asked surprised. "Alya, cut the crap, mom issi hospital mein hai, I beg you please don't go in front of her, I know what will happen if she see you" Manik said to Alya.

"Aunty ko kya hua? Wo hospital mein kyu hai?" she asked him. "She met with an accident and I can't talk anymore now, so please stay away from her" Alya felt sad as Manik said it and he left. He sat beside his mom and watched her.

"Dr. Abhimanyu" Mukti knocked on his cabin. "Dr. Mukti, please come in" he welcomed her. "Dr. Malhotra ki mom kaisi hai" she asked him. "She is out of danger now".

"I asked him to go for the surgery in my place otherwise he would have been there for his mom when she needed him" Mukti said in a trance. "It's okay Mukti" he said casually but quickly corrected himself "I mean Dr. Mukti"

She sharply looked at him. "I don't mind if you call me by my name" she said with unease. "Ha but we are all habituated to call you as Dr. Mukti, though we know each other since a couple of years we hardly talked few times, isn't it strange!" he smiled.

"Well you are telling me that I'm so boring" she looked at him. "No I didn't mean it, I was just saying that we never had time to talk" he said as she felt offended.

"That's actually true, I hardly have any friends" Mukti felt uncomfortable. "Mukti friends are not luxury they are the essential needs, tum khushi kisi ke saath bhi baant sakte ho par ghum sirf sachche dost se hi share karti ho" Mukti stood there in silence.

"Are we friends now?" he asked extending his hand.
