Nandini stood up seeing Mukti. Cabir didn't know what to do while Aryaman and Navya greeted her.

"Sorry ma'am, I was just, I'm Cabir ma'am, new intern", he extended his hand but took back when Mukti glared at him. "I'm glad that Dr. Nandini Murthy has made my job easy, now that you know about me, don't waste the time, come on, take charge", Mukti moved on saying that and all the interns followed her grabbing their aprons.

"Lifeline hospitals mein kaam karna itna bhi aasaan nahi hai, you have to work hard. All of you have to follow the 5 rules" said Mukti.

"Rule no. 1, no questioning back. You will do your duty without any questions and just do whatever I asked not less not more"

"Rule no. 2, no hangouts, duty ke time mein sirf duty no hangouts, if I happen to find out that you are hanging out then get ready to face the worst" she said sternly.

"Rule no. 3, no complaints, patients ko patience se deal karna hai, lifeline baaki ki hospitals ke tarah nahi hai, ek baar shift start hua tho situation ke according 48 hours bhi shift continue hoga"

"Rule no. 4, discipline, I won't entertain any kind of indiscipline here and discipline refers to whatever I say, now come on ek accident case aaya hai, many are injured, quick". "But ma'am you talked about 5 rules and told only 4", Nandini asked which earned a glare from Mukti.

"Whenever you feel like using your brain, just remember the previous 4 rules and that's the 5th rule, now will you please do the honors, Nandini. Don't flaunt your smartness and you Dr. Navya don't be happy that you have attended a delivery case, sab cases itne easy nahi hote, ok" Mukti looked at Nandini. She cursed herself bad luck for having cornored by Mukti repeatedly.

"Oh my God, look at them, bhai saab ye accident kaise hua?" Aryaman asked on of the patients about the accident.

"We went to an engagement function and it happened while returning back from the temple, the breaks of the bus got failed", he told them and Navya felt sad looking at them, "uss ladki ko kya kya sunna padtha hai na", she said sadly.

"Navya, aisa kuch nahi hoga, those old days were gone long back" Nandini said looking at a patient. "Kya baat hai tum tho bilkul Madhubala jaise baat karne lagi", Cabir teased her.

"You and your silly nicknames, Nandini let's go before Mukti ma'am come here". "Haa ha chalo", they moved the patients to their respective wards and Mukti came to see them.

"Dr. Aryaman and Dr. Cabir, take care of the clinical needs, get their stitches done. Navya, this is the case report of Mr. Vansh and Nandini here is the report of Ms. Shanaya. Go and get all the required tests done". Nandini and Navya moved to their respective wards.

"You know Nandini, Vansh aur Shanaya ka love marriage hone wali hai, they just got engaged yesterday and this accident", Navya told her after talking to Shanaya. "Ha, the boy's mom really seem to be a problem for the girl's family, you were really right Navya, his mom calls her a bad omen and that boy oh God, he blindly follow his mom, why did he love her even?" Nandini said annoyed.

"I feel sorry for her, hum kar bhi kya sakte hai? I think he's a mumma's boy" Aryaman stated. "Did you talk to that boy, Vansh", Navya asked him. "Yeah, he isn't ready to accept that girl back", "and here she isn't ready to get treated until she talks, her leg got fractured these mumma's boys na, thank God main tho bach gayi thi in the morning" Nandini said reading the case report of Shanaya.

"Tum badi serious ho rahi ho Nandini!" Navya asked with a curious expression. "Haa it just happened in the morning, there was a guy who came to see me", she said casually but Navya reacted surprisingly, "matlab tumhe dekhne rishtewale aaye wo bhi aaj, kya hua".

"Kuch nahi, wo bhi aise hi tha, mumma's boy, I didn't like him yaar" Navya is disappointed as Nandini said it. "I thought you are going to marry soon, but it's OK" she sighed.

"Kiski shaadi ki baat ho rahi hai yaha!" Cabir poked his nose as usual. "Nandini ki". "Oh, Dorami ki shaadi, yaar mujhse bhi koi shaadi karna please, maine Mukti ma'am ko bhi like kiya but wo meri Shizuka nahi balki Lady Bheem ban gayi and mera kismat itna bhi kharab nahi main iss Madhubala ko propose karu" Navya and Nandini couldn't tolerate his blabbering.

They all talk to each other in the common room and gets a message to attend their respective duties. Shanaya denies to get treated until she talks to Vansh. On the other hand, Nandini tries to treat Vansh's mom who doesn't cooperate with her. She complains Mukti about her.

"Ma'am, Vansh ki mother treatment ke liye cooperate nahi kar rahi hai, I have tried my level best ma'am", Mukti thought for a minute and spoke, "leave her then, I know how to deal with such patients, you are not made for her, aage se aise excuses nahi do mujhe, now go and get Shanaya's updates, Navya said same that she isn't ready for treatment, I don't know what's all their problem, I have also asked Navya to go through Shanaya's report, you both look after that case and this Vansh is also a matter of concern, Aryaman usse dekh raha hai, go now". Mukti is annoyed as Vansh, his mom and Shanaya are denying for treatment.

"Ma'am Shanaya has got leg sprain but I doubt she has an invisible tumor, can I please have her tests done ma'am? Please ma'am" Nandini pleaded Mukti after going through Shanaya's reports. "OK you can go ahead but uski update kya hai? Is she ready to get treated?"

"No ma'am but she needs to be treated before the tumor spread, iskeliye usse Vansh se milna hi hoga" Nandini said "but Aryaman ne ye bhi kaha ki Vansh doesn't want to meet her" Mukti sighed listening to her. "You first get her tests done then we'll see it".

"Nandini Mukti ma'am ne kya kaha?" Navya asked Nandini while she hi-fied Navya saying that Mukti agreed. Cabir and Aryaman take a break.

"Yaar ye kaisa cases hai stitches aur band-aids, koi surgery aa jaati tho kitna mazaa aatha hoga" Cabir said to Aryaman while having coffee. "Chalo bhai mujhe wo Vansh ko manana bhi hoga" Aryaman sighed while Cabir joked "Kabhi girlfriend ko manaya tumne?" "Girlfriend utna naseeb nahi hu chalo".

Aryaman asked Vansh to meet Shanaya and said that she didn't agree for treatment. "Doctor please, I don't want to see her face, aapne dekha nahi kya hua hai humare saath, kal hi engagement hua humara aur aaj hi, my mom warned me against it but I was adamant now I don't want to take a chance" Vansh said firmly.

"Ye sab tho pyaar karte waqt yaad nahi aaya tumko?" Aryaman lost his temper seeing him stubborn. "Doctor aapka kaam treatment karna hai sirf wo karo na yeh sab chodo mera beta wahi karega jo main kahungi", Vansh's mom interrupted Aryaman and asked him to mind his own work.

"That will happen only when you cooperate with us ma'am, aap idhar udhar ghoomna chodo aur treatment karwao apne, aapka left hand fracture hua so you should get it dressed" Cabir suggested her but she ignored him. Nandini comes to meet Vansh.

"Tho kaha gaya wo sab promises ki main humesha tere saath rahunga and all that everything is just a sham, that's it! Mr. Vansh aap kyu Shanaya ko joothi sapne dikha rahe the", Nandini spoke with disappointment evident in her voice. "Aap jo bhi kahiye but I can't go against my mom, I can't afford to lose my family for her, I know I love her but uski wajhe se", Nandini interrupted him

"But Vansh!", "doctor please, I don't want to talk about it", Vansh gave her a cold shoulder. "Fine, she has a tumor agar wo treatment ko agree nahi kiya then don't blame us for her death, I will get the no objection form ready, please send them back after signing as you've admitted her here, I should have informed it earlier but I thought you will help her out, but there's no way now, we'll continue with the procedure" Nandini leaves from there saying this and meet Mukti.

"So did you send those forms?" Mukti asked seeing the reports. "Abhi tak nahi ma'am, but lagta hai wo bhi karna padega" Nandini looked sad. "Good job Nandini you've identified tumor in the earlier stage itself, we don't have to worry for Shanaya, we can remove the tumor easily", Mukti said normally and leaves from there but Nandini is excited.

"Wow Nandini finally Mukti ma'am ne tumhe appreciate kiya", Navya smiled at her. "Ha but I feel sorry for Shanaya, I mean look at her", Nandini talks to Navya and Mukti came back.

"I'm little busy today, so Dr. Malhotra will be dealing with this case, wo aate hi hoga, you report to him Nandini and be informed that I don't want any complains from any of the staff" Mukti strictly informed Nandini and left.

"Can't she be nice for a moment abhi tho hum khush the na" Navya beamed. "Leave it Navya, did you hear it, I will be assisting Dr. Malhotra, oh my God I can't believe" Nandini is over joyed. "Ha, I've heard that Dr. Malhotra is one of eminent neurosurgeons of the town, you are surely lucky" Navya cheered her.

"Ha, he didn't even has one case where he lost and he also worked at NYC". They talked about Dr. Malhotra and then talked to Shanaya about her condition.

"Ms. Shanaya please understand us, aapko ek tumor hai ha don't worry yaha ki doctors tumhe zarur theek karega but aapka cooperation ke bina ye possible nahi hai" Navya tried to explain her. "But doctor the person whom I loved is not even looking back at me, why should I get treated, I don't want to live" Shanaya is lost in her thoughts. "Shanaya pyaar sirf life ki ek part hai it's not life, you should move on find yourself tum yaha aise rukh nahi sakti, I know I have nothing to say to you but I thought I should say it to you, waha Vansh tumhe accept hi nahi kar raha hai and here you!" Nandini said to Shanaya.

"Nandini, in dono ko bolna hi bekaar hai, come we'll have lunch" Aryaman called Nandini and Navya for lunch. They asked a nurse to be with Shanaya.

"You guys go I will make a call and join you" Nandini excused herself while Aryaman and Navya joined Cabir for lunch. Nandini called her chachi.

"Nandu, kaise tha tumhari first day?" chachi asked her excited. "Ha chachi sab acha hai bas humara incharge thodi strict hai but I will manage, did you have lunch?"

"Ha tumhara chacha baahar gaya wo aate hi hum lunch karenge, Nandu main ek baat poochu?" chachi asked Nandini.

"What is it chachi?" Nandini asked.

"Tumne subah uss ladke se kya kaha, they have called your chacha it seems I don't exactly know ki hua kya hai but Murthy ji sounded upset" Nandini's heart sank listening that her chacha was upset with her. They had never said no to Nandini and she never let them down.

"Chachi maine usse kaha ki I don't want to marry him and asked him to reject me too" Nandini agreed it when chachi asked. How could she lie to her chachi!

"Nandu we don't want you to get married against your wish beta but humare baare mein bhi socho wo ladka acha tha family bhi bahut achi thi and to top that tum yahi issi city mein rahogi chacha wants you to get married to some NRI but Nandu we can't live without you beta" Nandini had tears when she spoke to her chachi. Her chacha takes the phone "Nandu beta chachi aise hi bakwas bolti jayegi tum iss rishte ki fikar mat karo I will handle it and I've told that matrimony wale ki you don't like him too, tum aaram se apni duty karke aa jana, lunch kiya tumne?"

"No chachu I will" Nandini wiped off her tears listening to him. "Jao jaldi khao tumhare favorite food pack karwaya maine aaj tere lunch mein aakhir maine jo banaya", chacha proudly said, "ha aise bol rahe ho aap jaise maine kuch kiya hi nahi" chachi said in a loud voice that Nandini could hear without even putting the phone on speaker.

"OK chachu main rakhti hu" Nandini cut the call and join others for lunch. "Kya baat hai phone mein busy and all" Cabir teased Nandini. "I just called home Cabir, just stop nagging" Nandini said taking back her lunch box from Cabir.

"Oh yeah I forgot mujhe jaldi jaana hai, I should report to Dr. Malhotra" Nandini stuffed food in her mouth while saying. "But Nandini eat slowly" Aryaman offered water. She finished her lunch and went back to Shanaya's ward taking her reports. Navya was allotted to another patient and came to wish Nandini.

They both saw someone entering in the ward. "You!" Nandini opened her eyes wide. "Good afternoon sir" Navya wished him while Nandini got back to her senses when she read the name on his apron. Dr. Manik Malhotra
