I mean I guess I might as well try make this a story. It'll probably suck lmao but that's fine. Italics is the character talking in their journal and regular text is real life. Btw the rest of this will not be a real story, but maybe inspired by some real people/places

Sorry, I guess in my long ass rant I didn't think to mention my name. We'll say it's Amber, but in my opinion names are just another excuse to make an unintelligent and prejudice opinion on someone based on society's views and beliefs. But who am I convincing, I'm just a "kid".

Anyway, my story has to be told since I have already started talking. But again, what is a story without love. We'll both figure out I guess. My life is and has been pretty bland from what I remember, but everyone has those scenes in their own movie that they cut out. Me personally, I cut a bunch of red drops and loud waves out for obvious reasons. High school is definitely a bore though, it doesn't live up to what the movies say. If only, that would be way better than reality. That is the point though I guess, movies portray impossible possibilities that my fingertips want to grasp any last straws of.

"AMBER!!" I jump at the loud voice next to my ear, almost falling backwards on the bench I was on. "Jesus Lily I'm right frickin here you don't have to yell" I say as I move over to let her sit. "Apparently I do! I called your name 6 times, but your head was berried too far in your damn book to hear me." I chuckle and close my journal, placing it on top of my bag on the ground. Lily sits next to me and nudges my arm jokingly. I am glad to have her, she's the friend everyone needs. She does and says little things that make you smile for the rest of the day.

"What are you even doing here Lily, aren't you supposed to be at work?" I know it might sound like she's sophisticated and stuff, but she's a teen working at McDonald's. "No stupid, I took off today. Amber, you SERIOUSLY forgot? We've been looking forward for tonight for weeks." I sat and thought for a brief moment. Gosh I'm so stupid. "The show! I mean umm, I didn't forget, I was testing you." I give her a weird look and we both laugh, the sound echoes off the walls around us. "Yes the show. I have my whole outfit planned. Let me guess, you didn't even think about it did you." A look of concern washes her face and I frown at the ground.

The truth is I have never really gone to a even like this with high schoolers. We're going to a show with 3 highs school bands, and most of them are from my school. I didn't really find a point in dressing up all pretty too because I know my quote unquote body type isn't favored and all of the people from my school know me so it was sort of pointless. Although Lily does tell me that I'm gorgeous and stuff, which I genuinely appreciate but I just don't believe it. Whenever we're out people cat call her and compliment her and ask for her Snapchat. Some people even ask ME for her Snapchat.  She's stinking gorgeous and I'm just here following behind her. Trust me none of that is her intention, she's so oblivious to her own beauty.

"Earth to Amber, come in Amber " she waves her hands in front of my face and I jump back to reality. "You really got to get out more Amber, aaannnd that's exactly why we're going tonight. There's gonna be soooooo many cute guys" the concern had quickly changed to excitement. "They're gonna be too focused on your gorgeousness to even notice I'm in the same room Lily" I laugh when she slaps my arm and gives me this "shut up" look. "That is not true, you could get a guy in half a second if you tried. Plus, this guy personally invited me so me, you, and Julia will definitely be treated well" Her face full of pride and cockiness. "Well who is this person that invited you?" I shoot her a funny curious look and her face goes flush, I love shooting down the beast. "Remember Chris from chorus" My mouth falls open. " oh my gosh, one of THE MOST popular guys in school invited YOU to his own show. That's pretty legit" I sound impressed and snicker, her eyes roll and she nudges me again. "Seriously Amber, you should get out there. No go would want to pass you up" a sincere smile plasters her face, but I know she's lying for me. I give her desperate look and without words she jumps up and starts dragging me. I pick up my stuff and catch up next to her. I don't even have to ask where we're going because we've gone to her house too many times not too.

I honestly have no clue how this will turn out but who knows. Maybe I will fall in love.
