om: where are you taking me?

riddhima: nearer to the stage so you can hear what your dadi has to say.

om: what?

dadi grabs the microphone and starts to speak: namaste all. thank you for this great party and thank you to one of the hosts, amrita sehngal for inviting me and my family.

buamaa was shocked. she went up to amrita and said: you invited them?

amrita: yes. this lohri party is for everyone.

buamaa: not for these people. the ones who mistreated gauri and her children.

amrita: what?

buamaa: and why is she doing a speech?

amrita: important announcement.

buamaa rolled her eyes as she folded her hands together praying to god.

dadi: also thank you amrita for letting me announce something. my grandson omkara is still single well actually we thought he was but just recently we found out he was in a relationship with this beautiful girl called riddhima.

gauri hears this from a distance remembering when she found out her so called husband had an affair with that woman and remembering when she cut all ties with him. advay came to her and kept his arm around her.

gauri: leave me alone.

advay: how? you look so sad.

gauri: why do i feel sad hearing that he was in a relationship with riddhima? why does it make my heart ache?

advay: relax gauri. 

aadhira and viren came back and were shocked seeing dadi on stage.

aadhira: dadi here?

viren: now what hole is this lady going to dig?

dadi: so in one week, omkara will marry riddhima.

the crowd were cheered as five people were made shocked. dadi called both riddhima and om up and made them exchange rings. om's face fell faster than a corpse in cement boots. in that instant his skin became greyed, his mouth hung with lips slightly parted and his eyes were as wide as they could stretch.

om in mind: my marriage with riddhima...but i don't even love her anymore in fact i doubt it was ever love between us. what is going on? dadi, why did you made this hole deeper? i am already finding it hard to win over my son and gauri but this marriage....this marriage will ruin everything. 

aadhira: just after hearing the news, mama was white as chalk. her eyes and her mouth were frozen wide open in an expression of stunned surprise. i can't believe papa will actually marry that woman...that woman who prevented my mama and papa having a happy marriage. 

viren: why was i shocked hearing this news? i should have known this was coming. the story mum told me, my hatred for mr oberoi grew. i can never forgive him for having an affair behind my mum's back all these years. that woman prevented my mum from being happy from these last 13 years. looking at mum, my heart ached. she has already been through so much pain, does she deserve to go through anymore?

buamaa: i couldn't believe what i just heard. omkara was going to marry riddhima!!! why would he marry such a woman who destroyed his life? as much as me and the kids were in shocked, gauri was the most shocked. she was a statue, eyes and mouth frozen wide open as of shock. finally she got out of her statue and tears were rolled down her cheek. she ran from there and i knew i had to follow her.

buamaa and the kids ran to gauri who was on the garden swing, crying. aadhira was going to speak but viren gave her his dangerous eyes preventing her from speaking.

viren: mum, rono maat. please. he is not worth your tears. he doesn't deserve your love mum. why are you crying over someone who just gave you pain and nothing else? why are you crying over someone who made you immune to pain? why are you crying over someone who would force himself on you against your wish? why are you crying over someone who never consider himself our father and your husband? he went behind your back having an affair, is he worth your tears? the one who never took care of you, is he worth your tears? no mum, he isn't worth your tears, he isn't worth your love. now rono maat.

he wipes his mum's tears away and kisses her forehead. aadhira, buamaa and munni were in tears - well munni was only in tears because she saw everyone else in tears. she didn't understand the matter at all.

aadhira in mind: i know viren bahi that papa gave mama pain but his childhood was the reason. he tried many times to prevent history from repeating itself but his efforts went in vain. i know in my heart papa will do something to stop this wedding, i know he will and then he will win over you bhai and mama then we will all be a happy family me, you, mama, papa and munni. 

viren: mum, you are still crying? haven't i just told you that man isn't worth your tears? if you want to cry then cry about munni being naughty all the time.

gauri smiles a bit and munni says: i no naughty.

viren: you are naughty. 

he looks at his mum and smiles.

viren: now you are smiling. i want you to smile all the time mum.

voice: i also want you to smile.

they all turned to see advay, arms folded. aadhira and viren suddenly felt a wave of bitterness washing over them seeing advay. he bends in front of gauri and says: you are an amazing person. you're one of a kind.there is no one else in this world like you. you are one of the best things someone could ever have. you have to realize that forcing yourself to the wrong person is just keeping you away from the right one. you don't deserve to cry. you don't deserve to be curling in pain, yet you allow yourself to. partly because you still think things could change, partly because you think who you're with is the one you're supposed to be with, and sometimes because you don't know what else to hold on to. gauri, viren is right. he isn't worth your tears. he isn't worth your love.

viren: are you done yet?

gauri: viren, is this is how you talk to your elders?

advay: let him be. 

he gets a box out of his pocket and opens it revealing a simple silver ring with a emerald on it. all was shocked.

advay: gauri kumari sharma, i know that you feel like your world is falling apart. i know that you are at a loss for words because nothing you think or say will take the pain away but i want to put your world back together. will you marry me gauri? if you don't liove me then that's fine but think of your kids. they will be insulted for not having a kid. you know how today kids are. they will poke their noses into your kids's business and use the fact that they don't have a dad against them.

viren: they already have. we are used to it.

gauri: viren. advay, i understand what you are saying but will you cheat me? will you mistreat my kids?

advay: i won't gauri. i won't. i will treat your kids like my own blood. just marry me and you will only face a life of happiness. so will you marry me?

gauri simply nods as advay kept the ring on her finger. buamaa was happy but at the same time doubting if advay was the one but aadhira and viren...anger, hatred and shock washed over them like a wave. they couldn't believe what they just heard and saw.

they went back to the party where gauri and dadi came face to face.

dadi: so how do you feel now?

gauri: i honestly don't care.

dadi: what? how? 

gauri: kyunki in one week, my kids will have a new father.

dadi: oh so you trapped another man for money?

gauri: very funny.

she goes pass dadi, flicking her hair.
