Meeting
Chilea asked me to do Loucils first meeting, so here it is!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As soon as the boy stepped into the room, Lou's whole attention was on him.
And that was saying something, seeing as Lou found it hard to concentrate on anything for long.
Her daddy was always complaining about it.
Miss Scots was about to introduce the boy, so Lou walked up to the front of the room, as normal as a 4 year old could manage.
"Boys and girls!" She called out.
The room went silent
"We have a new person come to join us today!! Would you like to say your name?" She asked the boy.
He nodded his head
"My name is Cecil" he said confidently.
Lou studied 'Cecil'
She was taller that him, which was good. He had brown hair and brown eyes. He just looked like an ordinary boy.
Miss Scots asked everyone to come down and sit in a circle, and introduce themselves.
When everyone was seated, Miss Scots picked up the frog toy and passed it around the circle. When they got to hold the frog, they could say their name.
"Aria" said the girl who always refused to wear dresses when it came to dress up time, and always dresses up in the boy clothes.
"Caris" said a girl that Lou had never really spoken to before, except to ask for a juice box.
"Logan. Sam. Garreth. John. Luke. William. Al. Sophie. Eleanor. Scott." Everyone said their name.
Lou caught the frog when Scott threw it to her.
"Lou Ellen" she said, passing the frog onto Sarah.
When the quiet girl was handed the frog, Lou Ellen payed special attention. She never found out the girls name, because she never spoke.
She mumbled something like "Clary" and then passed the frog on.
Then, when everyone had said their names, Miss Scot said that they could go back to their drawings.
Everyone stood up, and just as Lou was about to walk back to her table, Miss Scot called her name.
"Yes?" She asked, walking back over.
"Lou dear." She said, holding a reluctant Cecil's hand.
"I've noticed how you don't really play with anyone, and I wondered if you would like to play with Cecil today, and show him around?" She asked, gently pushing Cecil towards her.
"Okay" Lou said, annoyed.
She didn't like other people. She had more than enough friends at home, and they said that they didn't want her to be friends with anyone else.
Miss Scots walked away, and Lou looked at Cecil.
"We're doing drawing right now" she said, grabbing his arm and pulling him towards the supply table.
Cecil nodded, and picked up a sheet of paper and a few pens. Lou grabbed his arm again, and pulled him towards her table, were she sat by herself, and did her drawing.
Cecil sat down, and pulled the top off of the pen. Lou picked up her pencil and started drawing again.
Lou drew for a few minutes, but then her feet started to get twitchy. She kept looking around and couldn't concentrate on her drawing.
She threw down her pencil in annoyance. Her daddy said that there was a reason that she couldn't sit still, and he said what it was called, but Lou hadn't learned her alphabet yet, so she didn't know what he was saying. But is started with A for Apple.
((A/N: it's ADHD))
She looked up and saw that Cecil was staring at her, as hadn't even started his drawing yet!
"Why aren't you drawing?" Lou asked him, looking confused.
Cecil shrugged
"I don't know what to draw."
Lou shook her head.
"You need to draw something. At the end, they hold up everyone's pictures and show them all to us."
Cecil moved his head to the side in a funny way.
"I like your drawing" he said.
"Who is it?"
"My friends. My home friends" Lou said, twisting a lock of hair around her finger absentmindedly.
"What are they called?"
"That ones me." Lou said, pointing at the smaller girl in the picture, with green circles for eyes, and black hair that was coloured in with a brown pencil, so she had to lean extra hard.
"And who's that one?" Cecil asked, pointing at the other girl.
She wore a cheerleading outfit, and had blond hair.
"That's my friend." Lou said, smiling proudly
"She's called Kelly."
~~~~~~~~~~
"Come on Cecil, hurry up!" Lou called out from in front.
2 months after they had met, Lou and Cecil were best friends.
They always shared their food, and played skipping and pirates together. Lou even let Cecil use one of her special bracelets, so that Cecil could prove to his big brothers that his friend was a girl.
They said that she was his 'girlfriend'.
Lou didn't know what that meant, because they always laughed when one of them said it.
Right now, they were playing a game of hide and seek.
Everyone was in teams, and had to hide together. So Lou and Cecil were a team.
"In here" Cecil said, pulling open the door to the shed where everyone keeps their jackets.
They ran inside, and went over to the teachers hangers.
Lou chose Miss Scots jacket, while Cecil went beside her and decided to use Mrs. Omer's jacket.
They nodded at each other, then lifted the coats over their heads, and climbed inside.
Lou, being very small compared to her teacher, had to jump to get her head over the neck of the jacket, so she put her foot onto one of the inside pockets and pulled herself up, so that her feet weren't touching the floor.
((A/N: just imagine a little Lou Ellen and Cecil hiding in a pair of huge jackets, giggling away.))
The door opened, as Sam walked in. He started checking all of the benches. Lou caught Cecil eye, and had to stuff her fist in her mouth to keep her from laughing.
Sam walked around the room one more time, and was about to leave when he heard a small sneeze.
Lou's eyes widened in panic, as she saw Cecil hastily covering his mouth in shock.
Sam grinned, and made his way across the room, towards the jackets.
But he was walking to Lou Ellen's one.
Suddenly, Cecil fell onto the bench with a crash, as his bottom half appeared into view, but his chest and head with covered by the jacket.
Lou had to stifle a laugh.
Cecil crawled out of the jacket, and walked towards Sam with his hands in the air.
"You've got me" he said, seriously.
Sam nodded, still grinning and pulled Cecil's arms behind his back, police style. Sam frog matched him to the door, and just as they were about to leave Cecil turned his head to the side, and gave Lou a small wink.
Lou nodded. Cecil had made his sacrifice. There was no going back from losing a game of hide and seek.
Lou raised her head. She was going to win this game. For the friend who had sacrificed himself for her.
~~~~~~~
A/N: Awww!! Young Lou is so cute!!
But seriously, do you guys remember when a game of life and seek was like life and death?
~~~~~~~~~~~
*many years later*
"Hey, look at this!" Lou exclaimed, grabbing her best friend and pulling her over to the corner of the room.
"What is it?" She asked, rubbing her eyes.
"I'm tired"
Lou shook her head, and held up her phone.
"You know how Facebook does that whole '1 Year Ago You Were Here' thing, right?"
Lou's friend nodded her head.
"Well, this morning my mum saw a 6 years ago thing on her Facebook and she showed it to me. I've got it here" Lou held up her Samsung Brick, which had a photo of her preschool class on it.
Her friend grabbed the phone in shock
"No way! Look at me! I was so small and cute!!"
Lou laughed
"What about me!! I used to be so chubby!!"
The two friends laughed over the phone for a moment, before Lou's friend pointed to a boy who was standing next to Lou Ellen, with his arm slung over her shoulder.
"Yeah, I asked my mum about him. She said that he was my best friend in preschool. She could remember his name, she just said that it began with a C"
Just then, the bell rang.
"Uggh" they groaned at the same time.
Lou sighed and shouldered her bag, putting her phone in her pocket.
"Well, if better go" she said, before giving her friend a quick hug and then running off in the direction of her classroom, while her friend ran in the other direction.
Lou walked into the classroom, and hung her coat up on the hanger. Then she took her outside shoes off and put on her sand-shoes. She picked up her bag and walked towards her group, depositing her lunch box in the trolly as she walked by.
"Hey" she said to her group.
She sat down next to Aria, who was drawing her tables poster.
"Hey" they all chorused back.
Lou got her pencil case and water bottle out of her bag, and put then put it on the top of her desk.
"So, have we decided which God to put as our team?" She asked.
Their project this term at school was the ancient Greeks, and each table had to choose a god to name their table.
Zeus, Poseidon, and Hestia was already gone, and they had only learned about a few others.
"Yes" Garreth said
"We decided to do Hera"
Lou nodded. She sounded like the nicest goddess (after Hestia) that they had learned about.
Aria had began to skilfully draw the outline of the goddess, while Lou started to draw the bubble writing.
"Okay everyone!" Miss Kerr called out, clapping her hands together.
"Bullrunner primary school's heating has broken down, and all of the pipes have frozen. Because it is unsafe to do so, the kids can't go back to their school for two weeks. So, some of them have come to our school, and some to another. 5 pupils will join our class for this amount of time, and I want you all to be extremely nice to them, okay?"
Lou nodded, not really paying attention. She was too busy drawing.
5 kids walked into the room, their heads bowed in nervousness, fidgeting with the edges if their black jumpers, which stood out against the blue of Lou's school.
Lou looked up, and realised that Miss Kerr was speaking to one of them, and pointing towards Lou's table.
Crap.
There was a spare seat next to Lou, but her group often used that seat for their sweets that they had, and needed to hide from the teacher.
The Hera group moaned. They couldn't afford to have some newbee join their group, incase they lost the lead that they had on the other groups on the point chart.
The Poseidon table grinned nastily at them. Lou growled back.
This meant war.
Miss Kerr directed one of the kids towards her table, and Lou sized him up.
He had tanned skin, and hazel hair and eyes. He was tall, but Lou was taller. He also had a spark of mischief is his eyes, which would normally intrigue Lou, but her group couldn't afford a troublemaker. Not now.
He walked over, and pulled the seat out underneath him, sitting down on it. The tension in the group was think enough to cut through with a knife.
"Right" Logan said, after a few minuets if the tense silence.
"My name is Logan. This is Aria, Sam, Lou Ellen and Garreth"
The boy nodded.
"My name is Cecil" he said.
Lou furrowed her eyebrows.
There was something familiar about this boy.
She shook it off, trying to draw her attention back onto her drawing.
Garreth started talking to Cecil, and pretty soon the whole group joined in.
It turned out that Cecil was a funny guy, who could carry a conversation.
Lou noticed that whenever anyone asked him about himself, he casually changed the conversation.
Lou shrugged.
She, after all, did this same thing all the time. It's not like it mattered.
But she still couldn't shake of the feeling that she had met him before.
"Alright class" Miss Kerr called out, startling Lou.
"It's time for PE, so let's go and get your stuff and get going. You can finish posters later."
Cecil frowned.
"What's PE?" He asked, looking confused.
The entire tables mouths dropped.
"You've never done PE before?!!" Logan asked in horror.
Cecil shook his head, looking at his shoes.
"My schools rubbish" he muttered under his breath, looking upset.
"Well then" Lou said, standing up and grabbing Cecil's arm
"You have a lot to learn"
At this, the rest of the group stood up, and nodded determinedly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I didn't know that you were allowed to play tag, in SCHOOL!!" Cecil said, as he and Lou Ellen walked out of the PE department.
Lou laughed.
"Yeah, but I'm not sure that Coach Hedge liked you very much" she said, remembering when the coach threatened to make Cecil do push ups.
"Yeah well, he doesn't like anyone" someone said from behind them.
Cecil turned around, to see a tall girl with long brown hair and scruffy clothes.
"Hey!" Lou said, giving her a hug.
"Who's this?" The girl asked, looking Cecil up and down.
"Oh, this is Cecil" Lou said, putting her arm around his shoulder.
"He's from Bullrunner" she said, grinning.
"And guess what?" She asked.
" what?"
"He went to our nursery!!" She said, looking Cecil up and down.
"Hey, I remember you" Cecil said, looking at Lou's friend.
"You were the quiet one, right? What was your name again. Clary, right?"
She shook her head, laughing.
"Close enough. I'm Clarrise" she said, taking Cecil's hand and shaking it like the grown ups do.
Cecil nodded, and tried not to wince as Clarrise shook his jeans firmly.
She was very strong.
Suddenly, coach Hedge ran out of the PR department, with a look of extreme worry on his face. He spotted the three demigods, and hurriedly jogged towards them, his baseball bat at his side.
"GET AWAY FROM EACH OTHER!!" He shouted.
" THERE ARE TOO MANY OF YOU!! GET BACK BEFORE- "
BOOM
"-oh crap" the coach muttered, as the stench of monsters filled his nose.
"I knew that teacher was trouble" he said, sprinting towards the kids and chucking Cecil his baseball bat.
"I guess I need to take you cupcakes to camp a little sooner than planned" he shouted at the terrified looking demigods.
Ta-da!!
Yeah, I know that one sucked.
It started off amazing in my head, then it just didn't work when it came to writing it...
Oh well!
What can you do?
Other than re-draft it and try again, but that's not going to happen!
I'm too lazy.
So yeah.
Byeeeee!!
