Aegnor never died, and he survived the Siege of Angband, and returns, bloody and bruised, injured and battle-worn -- but alive. Unfortunately, his brother Angrod was slain by Morgoth during the Siege, leaving Aegnor to be badly wounded, but was found and he survived.

When he returns to Dorthonion, Finrod, knowing Aegnor's desire, tells him that Andreth is walking by the Sea, and, nodding his thanks, Aegnor rides to the Sea where Andreth was at.

When Andreth turns around to see the incoming rider, she's shocked to see her lover coming towards her. When Aegnor dismounts, he walks up to her and holds her hands in his own, a smile on his lips. "Mae govannen."

She says nothing at first, her eyes welling with tears, before running towards him and hugging him tight, not letting him go. 

Aegnor hugs her tighter, his chin on her head. And all is right with the world. 

As they look to the sea, content to be in each other's arms till the sun had set, Aegnor asks her to be in his arms forever . . . 

. . . And she said yes.

Author's Note: Mae govannen, mellyn! Welcome to the first prompt for the Silmarillion. I decided to start it off with Aegnor and Andreth because most people love them to death (including yours truly), and because I wasn't content with Aegnor dying the way he did. But then again, so did most people. But then I'm a romantic, and when I like a pairing, I'm like the troll in Frozen that wants them to marry and have babies that says, "You're getting married," and will force them together if that's what it's going to take. lol XD

Also, I just felt bad for Andreth and I love her. She has beauty AND brains! Beautiful combination. Plus she loves books, gotta love that. She's 100x better than Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
