It started when you heard a knock on your uncle Bilbo's door. As you opened the door, you were surprised to see two dwarves with smiles on their faces.

"Fili!"

"Kili!"

"At yer service!!" They both chimed together at the same time causing you to laugh.

"What can I do for you Master Dwarf?"

"Did you hear that? She called us Master dwarf!" Kili spoke with amusement.

"We are supposed to have a meeting here, have any other dwarves arrived?" Fili asked

"I believe so, I think they were Balin and Dwalin?"

"Ah yes! Those are some of the people that we are supposed to meet!"

You immediately gestured for them to come in. Fili took a moment to gaze at your features before looking away blushing.
After the majority of the dwarves came in, they played music, and ate happily. This in turn caused Bilbo's blood pressure to rise even higher.

"Alright now lads, lets give our host a bit of a break." Balin smiled "why don't we clean up for him hmnnn?"

As they proceeded to clean the house, your jaw dropped in surprise. It was as if magic had over taken the house making the job of cleaning much easier.

"How did you-" you began to ask Kili

"Magic, love. We dwarves know how to do a few things or two." Kili smirked.

Across the table, Fili was sitting and watching you quietly. In his heart, he knew that he really liked you. Fili felt uneasy pursuing a girl that his brother obviously liked. He agreed, that he would just be friends with you for now.

As the journey progressed, Fili, Kili, and you became inseparable. The closer you grew together, the more Fili suspected that you were not indeed into him.

However, Kili had noticed the longing looks between you and Fili, and decided to take it into his own hands.

It was about the time that the dwarves and you had reached Beorns when Fili couldn't take it anymore. He thought about leaving the group and just going off to Erebor his way, but he knew his uncle would not tolerated. He spent less time around you, and you felt empty when he wasn't near you. The majority of time that you spent with Kili was either to joke around, or to confess your feelings about Fili.

"I'm going for a walk. I'll be back shortly." Fili grumbled.

Kili nudged you to follow him.

"Kili I can't. I don't even know if he likes me." You responded

"Y/N. You need to go now. Or it may be too late."

You sighed reluctantly, your stomach dropping with every step you took.

"Fili?" You asked softly. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." He responded gruffly, hiding the shock that you weren't with Kili "shouldn't you be with Kili?"

"I wanted to see you." You trembled. "I noticed for the past couple of weeks we have been super distant. Whatever it is I have done, I'm sorry. It was never my intention to hurt you."

"You didn't- you didn't do anything wrong." He whispered.

"Then why are you avoiding me?" You whispered "Have I offended you?"

"I LOVE YOU!" Fili shouted "and it kills me to see you and Kili every day possibly together romantically."

"Fili, I love you too. I always have."

Fili whirled around in shock "What are you talking about??"

"I've cared for you since the very day you stepped through my door. The only way I feel about Kili is in a brotherly way. The reason I spent so much of my time with him is because I was confiding my feelings about you to him. I just didn't know how to tell you."

Tears welled in his eyes as his dream did come true. He ran to you, and hugged you so tightly that you thought you almost couldn't breathe.

"Will you court me then?" He asked breathlessly after hugging and kissing you. "I wish to marry you, but I wish to do it properly, the dwarven way."

"Of course I will!" You laughed.

Fili reaches for your hair, as you looked at him confusedly.

"When a dwarf has a consort, they are to place beads within the braided hair." He explained.

"Oooohh" you said with a smile. "You are going to have to teach me the different customs so that I know for the future."

When the two of you came out hand in hand, all of the dwarves cheered.

"It's about time!" Kili spoke with a grin. "I've been trying to get you two together for ages!"

The rest of the journey was something to remember. Immediately, after the war, you and Fili got married, taking the throne after Thorins funeral.

Finally, all was well.

Then end.
