A girl from another realm
For Marcelaudomov I hope I got this right! Prepare yourself, it's long. FYI I started writing it, and I'm making it a series 😂 Absolutely fell in love with the many ideas in my head.
You had been sitting on your bed all evening scrolling through Wattpad, looking for something Lord of the Rings related to read. Your eyes wandered to the window as you saw the lightening strike close to your cottage house. Quickly, you closed the windows with a latch and decided to boil some water for some tea. The band Celtic woman was playing in the background causing you to hum while cleaning the dining table to bring your laptop. You heard a knock at the door, and your brows furrowed with nervousness.
"Who could be here this late?" You murmured. "It's almost 11 at night."
The knocking continued, and you saw a gentle woman peeking through the hole. You slowly opened the door to see the woman in a pink and blue dress, and a large sack that she carried on her back. In addition, she wore a grey cloak and had her hood on to protect her from the rain.
"What can I do for you?" You asked calmly.
"Could you spare a woman some food, and water?" She asked meekly. "If it's not too much trouble."
"Of course!" You said, compassion in your tone. "Please come in."
The young woman smiled gratefully, and set her bag by the table. Just as she sat down, the kettle rang signaling that it was ready.
"It's a beautiful house you have." She remarked with a smile. "Has it always been yours?"
"Yeah. It has been in the family for years, I'm the last one to have it."
"Family," she murmured. "Where is your family?"
"Gone..... they aren't here anymore... it's just me."
The woman nodded with sympathy until her eyes widened with shock. "I don't believe I've told you my name. My name is Faye."
"Y/N"
"Y/N...... you remind me of a family that lived in a distant land."
"I'm adopted, so I don't know who my real family is." You spoke causing Faye to slightly smile. "Tea?"
Faye nodded and gratefully accepted the cup and drank a portion of the tea. "Tell me, what kind of adventures have you had?"
"None really, I'm a writer..... of sorts. I also knit things, that's how I support myself I suppose. I even have an Etsy shop." You remarked.
"What's Etsy?" The woman asked, completely confused. "I don't think I've ever heard of it before."
"Oh it's an online-" you began, but you noticed the woman looked even more confused. "It's a series of shops that people sell their stuff at."
"Anyways," Faye waved dismissively. "Do you think you would be up for an adventure? You seem to be full of life, and your all alone."
"What kind of adventure. You sound like a wizard I've heard of." You leaned forward with curiosity. "Would I come back here?"
"What was the wizards name?" Faye asked attentively leaning forward in her seat as much as you were.
"Um, Gandalf the Grey?" You asked tentatively.
Faye smiled with glee "Oh you know him! He's my absolute favorite!"
You stared wide eyed at Faye, for you were confused as to how she knew him when all he was to you was a dearly beloved fictional character.
"How on earth do you...."
"I don't know if you noticed, but I'm not from here."
"Yeah I got that much."
"I'm from Middle Earth. I'm a witch like Gandalf, I am his apprentice."
You shrugged your shoulders and said "sounds legit enough. But why are you here?"
"I have been searching for the past five years for a girl with your name, no one is as unique as you are. Plus, you remind me of someone. Middle Earth is in dire need, there is great evil approaching. The prophecy foretold that a woman from another realm would come and save Middle Earth, and deliver it from all evil."
"But-"
"You are the one that can save Middle Earth, I am sure of it. "
"Why me? I'm a girl from the United States who lives in a cottage, knits all day, and reads fan fiction. I am not cut out for fighting, and quest seeking things-"
"Yes you are." Faye spoke quietly. "I know you can."
You grabbed both The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings Books off of your shelf and brought them to her. Faye's eyes furrowed in confusion as she read the summaries for each book.
"I don't understand, how on earth-"
"Someone from this realm wrote the story to begin with, that's how." You spoke.
"And now someone is trying to tamper with Middle Earth, someone with deep and dark magic." Faye explained. "That's why I have been searching. Even though these books have been written, the course is about to change and not even Lord Elrond can see the future anymore. Evil enemies are on the horizon, and we need outside help to make wrong things right again."
"Alright, " You spoke. "Where do we start?"
Faye grinned, "We start with getting you ready for Middle Earth."
You grinned to yourself as you went to your room to change into more suitable clothing.
"You must dress like them, otherwise they will not trust you-" Faye almost finished her sentence, but noticed all of the Lord of the Rings cosplay outfits that you hung in your closet. "On second thought, I believe you are well on your way."
You quickly dressed in this (down below) and Faye's jaw dropped to the floor.
"What? I told you that I can knit. " You smirked. In addition, you grabbed your sword and bow and arrows that you purchased at a medieval festival. Finally, you clasped a grey cloak on top and smiled at Faye.
"You certainly are ready." She smiled while handing you a familiar brown leather bag. "Some extra essentials like a spare set of clothes, food, your journal and pen, a couple of weapons."
"You're the best Faye." You smiled. "I feel like I've known you forever."
As the sun rose over the hill, you and Faye finished eating a large breakfast, and you locked your cottage up for what could be a very long time.
"Don't worry," Faye spoke with a smile. "Your cottage will remain untouched, and no one shall touch it." You felt a sense of relief as the two of you walked closer to the river.
"How-"
"No time for questions. Now, when you enter, your appearance will be slightly different. Do not try and tell them of your world until you have earned the dwarves trust, they are very suspicious after all. Remember, your actions shape the future. We are trying to eliminate the enemy threat instead of increasing it. It is imperative, that you do not speak of the future. It could ruin everything."
"The Hobbit or Lord of the Rings?"
"What?" Faye asked. "I don't understand."
"Is my adventure with Bilbo or Frodo?"
"Bilbo." She spoke quickly. Now, it's almost time. Here take this." She said as she placed a locket around your neck. "This is used to get in contact with me. Use it wisely." After she clasped the necklace, she patted your shoulder before facing you toward the river.
"When you see Gandalf, tell him Faye has found it,"
"Aren't you coming?" You asked with worry.
"Not with you, but the teleportation should land you where you need to go."
"What??" You yelled with worry. "Where are you going?"
"Never mind that you, it's time to go."
Before you could say anything, she shoved you into the swirling blue abyss where you would land in Middle Earth.
Yeah so I'm fully invested. 😂😂 thank you Marcelaudomov for the idea. Go follow them. I'll update when I can
