Can we just take this time to appreciate Sam. I might have done a Sam appreciation chapter earlier on, but Sam needs more than one appreciation chapter. Without Sam, Frodo would have died a million times over; by Orcs, falling, Gollum and Shelob. Without Sam, he would have also fallen in the volcano and without Sam, the ring would never have been destroyed.

Personally, I think Sam is the most important character in the entire trilogy
