Truth
A warm, gentle breeze kissed her skin as she found herself surrounded by a meadow of vibrant green grass and azalea flowers. "Jeez, baby sis.. you're as accident prone as ever." a voice chuckled, her brows furrowed as she turned, finding a man unfamiliar to her.
"Who are you? I don't have older siblings." she state, eyeing the stranger, he has longish hazel-brown hair and golden-brown hues, white, but not pale skin, a slight scruff, and he stood at about 5'8".
"My name's you'll find out later.. but I am you're older brother. Only one of them though, you have many brothers and sisters." he informs, popping a pink lollipop in his mouth. "But it's understandable you don't remember. Father told us to expect that.."
The girl's brows furrow, "No.. I have a younger brother, his name is Tyler.. Daddy's never mentioned another brother." "Talk to your parents, baby cakes." he chuckled, "Speaking of which, it's time for you to wake up."
"Wha-" her voice was cut off by a sudden feeling pulling at her chest, the man waved to the platinum haired girl as the world around her faded into black.

Footsteps, a high pitched beeping, and incoherent whispers is what the Lockwood girl heard as she awoke. She groaned lightly as a bright light stung at her retinas.
Everyone else in the room snapped their attention to her. "Lyra, sweetheart." Carol Lockwood gasped, rushing to her daughter's side, "Mom?" she mumbled, blinking a couple times to clear her hazy vision.
"We're here, baby girl." Richard Lockwood assured, brushing Lyra's white hair from her face.
"Daddy? What happened?" she hummed sleepily, raising her hands to rub her eyes, only to stop due to a painful tug in her left arm. The blonde grimaced, laying her arm back down. "You were attacked by an.. animal." Richard answered, Lyra hummed again, "Mm.. where's Ty-Ty?"
"Tyler, Matt, and your friend Stefan are on their way." Carol informed, earning a nod from her daughter.
"I'm going to go get a nurse to check up on you. I'll be right back." the older woman said softly, kissing her daughter's forehead, "Mkay." the younger mumbled.
Mrs. Lockwood smiled a relieved smile, then left the room. Lyra's grey-black eyes closed, "How are you feeling, baby girl?" Richard spoke softly, the small teen opened her eyes again, giving her father a lazy smile, "Sleepy."
He chuckled, "I'll bet.. you're as accident prone as ever."
The blonde's smile faded, which worried the man, "Baby girl? Is something wrong?" "Daddy.. do I have another brother?" she questioned, looking into her father's deep brown hues. His brows furrowed, "No.. why would you think that?"
"I.. had a dream.." she frowned, Mystic Falls' Mayor felt his heart skip a beat, "Lyra.. what was the dream about?" he questioned, he was afraid of this.
"There was a man.. he called me his baby sister.. and said that I had more sisters and brothers." she murmured, looking down at her hands, "Am.. I adopted?" she whispered, Richard's eyes widened, his breath caught in his throat.
Before the blonde could hear an answer, the room door opened. Carol Lockwood, a nurse, Tyler, Matt, and Stefan all entered the room.
Richard kissed his daughter's head before going to his wife, Lyra's attention was moved to the nurse, who began her checkup.
"You scared the hell outta me, Lyra." Tyler sighed, grasping his older sister's hand, her grey-black eyes shone with guilt, "I'm sorry, Ty-Ty.." she whispered, he shook his head, "It's okay." Matt assured, "All that matters is that you're alive."
The dark eyed girl's gaze traveled from her younger brother and brother figure, to the other male in the room.
She raised her arms, "Stef-Stef!" she beamed, the brunet chuckled, hugging Lyra carefully. "How're you feeling, Lyra?" the Salvatore asked after pulling back, she gave him the same answer she gave her father, "Sleepy."
*************
Lyra hummed, straitening her skirt, eyeing her reflection in the mirror. In her bedroom doorway stood her parents, both eyed the teenager with fear and worry.
Carol forced a smile, "You look beautiful in that dress." their daughter turned to face them, a bright smile on her lips, "Thanks, Mama."
Her sweet nature made this even harder for her parents. "Baby girl, can we talk for a minute?" Richard spoke carefully, watching his daughter tilt her head in confusion, "Sure." she chirped, plopping onto her bed, Carol and Richard joined her after closing the door.
"Sweetie.. promise me you'll wait until we're finished to ask any questions." Carol pleaded, Lyra's brows furrowed, but she nodded. Mr. and Mrs. Lockwood exchanged looks before sighing.
"When Tyler was three.. he followed me outside when I was taking a call one night. It was a very important call, and I can't say I wasn't bothered when Tyler kept tugging at my sleeve to get my attention." Richard explained, glancing at his wife as she gripped his hand.
He took a deep breath before continuing.
"It was a frustrating call, so I was angry, but the look on Tyler's face had stopped me from yelling. He was so scared.. and was staring off into the woods. It was then that I noticed a small figure on the ground. I didn't think before I ran out to it. The figure was a small girl.. with snow white hair.. and she was severely hurt.. I thought she was dead at first, but she was breathing when I checked."
Lyra's dark eyes stung as she looked down, listening intently to her father.
"I had taken the girl to the hospital immediately and the next day I filed a report to the police..." Richard trailed, tightening his grip on Carol's hand.
"Weeks passed, and day by day the girl was getting better.. but no one called about her.. and she didn't fit any missing person's reports.." Carol also trailed. Both her and Richard couldn't find the right words.
They were afraid Lyra would hate them for keeping this from her, Lyra hugged her parents tightly.
They froze for a moment, taking a second to process what had happened before hugging her back just as tightly whilst being mindful of her healing wounds. "Thank you for telling me.." she murmured, "Y.. You're welcome sweetheart."
"Mama, Daddy?" she hummed, "...Yes, baby girl?" Richard hesitated, scared of his daughter's next words.
"I love you."
