『the guardians of the galaxy, bitch』

The Dark Aster crashed landed straight to the ground, smoke and fire covered the ground and at the sudden impact, the Groot-protection dome shattered, causing those who were inside to be spread across the crash site. Jace kept his eyes shut for as long as he could, there was a part of him which wanted them to stay closed only to wake up and see that this was all a bad dream of his. The thought that Groot risked himself to protect them hurt in some way, he didn't expect Groot to do such a thing.
As much as he tried to think about that, Jace's mind still looping over the old memories which were came to his mind at the sudden feel of being thrown around. He tried his best to breath, tried his best to regulate his breathing to prevent himself from going into some form of attack. This was the last thing that he needed, especially now, he tried to keep his mind focused on what was going on around him.
A small groan left his lips as he opened his eyes, he was greeted with the realisation that this was all real. He stayed laying there, knowing that the last thing he wanted was to realise how badly he'd been injured. He knew that Groot's dome took so much of the impact, it was just this little panic inside of him that made him wonder whether he'd still gotten hurt. His body still ached from the Stone being used on him from his fight with Ronan, even still, he forced himself to sit up despite how weak his body felt. The one thing that made him frown was seeing how Ronan hadn't died from the impact.
Jace let out a small, annoyed sigh wanting nothing more than this entire situation to be over. He hoped that Ronan died so they wouldn't have to worry about anything else. The one thing that he knew was that once this was all over, he was going to take one long nap. Or just create a lot of unnecessary things just to piss Peter off—though either way he'd get his nap. Or you know, maybe getting killed by a bloodthirsty twat was the way to get an eternal nap. All seemed like a good idea to Jace.
Jace took notice of the purple glow of the Power Stone and groaned internally. He'd heard the way that the Xandarians whimpered at the sight of Ronan. Jace wanted desperately to tell them to get away, though he couldn't find his voice. It was like everything that happened just took his voice away from him. For a moment, he wondered whether or not he'd bit his tongue off, though realised that he didn't.
Rocket—who had been grieving over Groot—turned towards Ronan, growling. "You killed Groot!" The racoon let out a scream as he then went to attack Ronan, but before he had the chance Ronan used the Stone to force him back. Rocket had flew across the air before hitting something metal. Jace found himself watching, wanting to help but he couldn't move without his entire body aching.
"Behold!" Ronan yelled. "Your guardians of the galaxy. What fruit have they wrought? Only that my father and his father shall finally know vengeance."
Jace noticed how Rocket was working on a bit of machinery which Jace had thought to be the weapon which he first made. A small smile had grown on his face, but he tried to force it down given the situation. He knew that he needed to stay focused on everything that was happening in front of him, given that Ronan was still talking.
"People of Xandar, the time has come to rejoice and renounce your paltry gods! Your salvation is at hand." Ronan continued.
Ronan raised the staff holding the stone, he rose it in the air, speaking in his native language. However, he was cut off by Peter singing along to Ooh Child by The Five Stairsteps which had been playing since the ship fell.
"Listen to these words," Peter said, pointing to Ronan as he then continued to sing.
Both Gamora and Ronan had given him a confused look while Jace was ginning like an idiot as he stood up. Jace knew what Peter was doing, and despite every nerve in his body screaming at him to sit back down, Jace found himself joining Peter's side. If he was to die today, he might as well die dancing by Peter's side.
"Ooh-oo child, Things'll be brighter," Peter sang. "Now bring it down hard!"
Peter then began to dance as he continued to sing along. Jace joined in, purely because the idea of confusing Ronan amused him more than he thought it would, that and knowing that Rocket and Drax were working on the weapon. Jace tried to hold back his laughter from the entire thing though the thought of doing this was funny for him.
Ronan given them a confused look. "What are you doing?"
"Dance-off, bro. Us and you." Peter responded.
Peter then flicked his leg up and wiggled his arms a little. For a more amusing effect, Jace made small twinkling lights which floated around the pair of them. Peter then outstretched his arm towards Gamora, saying her name, in hopes that she might join him. Gamora shook her head.
"Subtle. Take it back." Peter spoke as he continued to then dance. At one point, Peter grabbed Jace's arm, the pair of them went around in a circle like they were paired for the Tango or some other dance type.
"What are you doing?" Ronan demanded a little more aggravated.
"We're distracting you, you big turd blossom," Peter responded.
It was then that Ronan whipped around to see how Rocket and Drax were standing together. Drax held the Hadron Enforcer in his arms while Rocket held an electrical cord. Rocket connected the two cords and at an instant the Enforcer had shot straight to the staff.
The staff exploded, the Power Stone was now out of Ronan's control. It took Jace a moment to realise how Peter instantly went for the Stone just as Ronan did. He'd also noticed how Peter didn't have the correct thing to hold the Stone, Jace knew that if Peter was to hold the Stone there was a chance that Peter might die.
"No!" Both Gamora and Jace yelled when they both realised what Peter intended to do.
Peter's hand wrapped around the stone and at an instant a black cloud had circled around him. There was pulse of purple which was visible within the cloud. Panic filled Jace, there was a part of him which worried that there might be a chance that he would die. Jace couldn't lose his brother, that was something that he wouldn't be able to live with. Jace heard the way that Peter screamed in pain, even as Peter stood, however, the one thing of which Jace noticed was how at first it pained Peter to even be in contact with the Stone, and the next it was like nothing, like the pain went.
Gamora tried to push past the force as she held out her hand. "Peter! Take my hand!"
Something seemed to spark within Peter as Gamora yelled the same phrase again. It was then that Peter grabbed Gamora's hand which made her yelp. The power from the stone shared with her and it was then that it clicked in Jace's mind.
Share the power of the Power Stone and maybe they won't die. Jace then began to make his way towards both Peter and Gamora. On his way, he could see how both Drax and Rocket were making their way to the pair as well. If this was something that was going to kill them, he knew that he'd rather die with them than watch them die. If doing this meant that there was a chance in defeating Ronan, then so be it.
Jace managed to make his way to Peter's side. He seemed to somewhat give Ronan—wherever he was—a somewhat glare before placing his hand on Peter's shoulder. He felt the way that the power from the stone surged throughout his body, it was painful to say the least, but in a way it felt nice once he got used to it. It was a similar feeling that he got when he used his powers at time. Speaking of which when he did touch Peter's shoulder's his hand glowed a red tint. There was a small buzzy feeling throughout him which felt somewhat nice.
Drax then grabbed onto Jace's shoulder as the same pulse went through him. It was not that long afterwards that Rocket grabbed onto Drax's finger. There was a brief moment when suddenly they were no longer in pain with the surge within them that they then stared down at Ronan—who was shocked with the display.
There was this small part of Jace through everything that wanted to smile at the way that Ronan looked at them, in some weird way it brought him joy. This, this was what Jace looked forward to even when he didn't realise it.
"You're mortal!" Ronan yelled. "How?"
"You said it yourself, bitch. We're the Guardians of the Galaxy." Peter spoke, calmly.
Ronan growled as he went to strike them all but was stopped when Peter opened his hand and allowed a stream of power come from the stone, and envelope Ronan to his death. The power from the stone made Ronan explode in the air, and when Ronan did die, it sent a powerful surge from the inside. Once Ronan was dead, Gamora quickly grabbed the orb container and forced it onto Peter's hand which held the stone.
The buzzyness around them stopped and the black and purple cloud disappeared around them. In all his time, he'd never felt something as powerful as that. Small pants was all of which had come out of their mouths, and it was then that they knew that they could relax. Even if it was for a brief moment.
Their brief moment of relaxation was cut short given that Yondu and his entire crew came towards them all. Jace wondered whether or not he could make them all vanish in hopes that they didn't have to deal with Yondu, but knew that it wouldn't work, instead, the desire to sleep hit him more than anything. And yet, he knew that they'd have to deal with Yondu.
"Well, well, well," Yondu spoke, coming towards the group. "Quite the light show." He let out a small chuckle. "Ain't this sweet."
One of the Ravager's cocked his gun as a way to say that if they didn't do what Yondu asked, they'd get shot. The Ravagers surrounded them in the crater, Jace and the others turned to stare at them. For a moment, Jace wondered whether or not it would be rude to just lay down and wait for his timely death but thought it would be best if he stayed where he was.
Yondu continued as he took a few steps towards them. "But you got some business to attend to before all the nookie-nookie starts." Yondu stopped in front of Gamora, Peter and Jace as both Jace and Gamora let out a small pant.
"Peter, you can't." Gamora said. "Peter."
Peter's gaze never once left Yondu. "You gotta reconsider this, Yondu. I don't know who you're selling this to, but the only way the universe can survive if you give it to the Nova Corps."
Some Ravagers shook their heads at Peter's response. "I may be as pretty as an angel," Yondu moved his jacket to reveal his arrow, "but I sure as hell ain't one." Yondu rose his hand. "Hand it over, son."
Peter and Jace shared a look with one another as if they were having a conversation with each other. It was then that Peter moved to grab an orb from behind his back before placing it in Yondu's hand. Yondu—now pleased that he finally got his hands on it—had let out a small laugh before flicking up his hand. It was then that the Ravager's moved to leave. Yondu moved to leave the two men who he somewhat adopted and the group.
"Yondu," Jace spoke, catching his attention. "Do not open that Orb. You know that, right?"
"You've seen what it does to people." Peter added.
Yondu then somewhat smiled as he pointed towards the two as if he meant that he understood. It was then that Yondu and the rest of his group had left. As he did, he had let out a small laugh. Jace just prayed that Yondu listened for once in his life to the pair of them. The last thing that either of them wanted was for Yondu to chase them around the galaxy because of a game that they played on him.
It hadn't taken long for the Ravager's to go to their ship and start to head off. However, before they even did, Yondu and Kraglin were stood with the side door of the ship open as the pair looked down at the group.
"Yeah, it's probably good that we didn't deliver him to his dad like we was hired to do," Kraglin spoke, referring to Peter. "And good that we didn't deliver the other to where his mother came from." That, that was referred to Jace.
"Yeah, that guy was a jackass," Yondu agreed. "And the king was an asshole."
The door of the ship had then closed as the ship then left Xandar. Jace had watched the ship leave as the one thing of which went through his mind was: where the hell did his mother come from? And what did that make him? For a moment, Jace wondered whether or not Yondu and Kraglin meant the King that killed his mother.
He thought back to what was said, he knew that for years he wondered where the hell his mother came from, though he never wanted to ask Yondu, mainly because he thought that Yondu didn't know. Though now, it left questions in need of answering. As much as he knew that the King and his mother were connected, he wondered whether or not they came from the same place.
"He is gonna be so pissed when he realizes I switched out the Orb on him." Peter spoke as he then rose his hand with the Orb in his hands. Peter's voice snapped Jace out of his thoughts.
Gamora let out a small laugh at that. "He was gonna kill you, Peter. Both of you."
"Oh, we know." Peter spoke. "But he was about the only family I had. Apart from Jace."
Gamora then grasped at Peter's hands. "No. He wasn't."
There was a slight sniffle from Rocket beside them which had made both Drax and Jace go up to him as a way to comfort Rocket over the loss of Groot. Drax was the one to stroke Rocket's head as Jace sat beside him as a way to let the raccoon know that he was there for him. They lost Groot in the process of trying to save Xandar, and despite not knowing the tree for that long, Jace couldn't help but feel sad over the loss.
