(Poem - I should've known better)

They told me it's ok,
They told me I can do it.
They told me
And I believed them.

Oh how foolish of me
To think that way.
To believe them
And to let it go.

Only to later realise,
It was all a lie.
To spin me in
To lead me on.

To shatter me more,
To burn me into ashes.
I should have known better
Then to trust them at all.

After all,
They were the reason
For all the havoc
Caused in my life.

After all,
It was only because of them
That I lost the most precious thing
In my life.

After all,
They were the reason
For my parents death
And my heartbreak...

I should have known better
Then to trust them.
I should have known better,
I should have known better...
