With a groan and a rub of his eyes, Jason sat up off the Bat cave floor, glancing around at the other occupants. He immediately took notice of the paleness in Talia, guilt striking him like a knife to the heart. "Talia...I am so sorry."
She waved him off. "I've had worse."
Standing up with a slight tremble to his legs, the teen assassin noticed how Dick and Tim tensed at his movements. He winced, the guilt gnawing at him. "Hey, guys."
Tim looked wary of him. "Are you still hellbent on killing Bruce?"
Jason sighed. "No. I'm not. I'm still...working through some feelings of anger and betrayal with him and Talia but I no longer feel homicidal when it comes to them. Which is a step in the right direction, yeah?"
Dick smiled, walking up to Jason and hugging him. "Yeah, it is. Glad to have you back, little wing."
Jason hugged him back. "Glad to be back, whole again." He pulled out of the hug and looked to Miss Martian. "Thank you, M'gann, for restoring my mind."
She shrugged. "Hey, what are friends for?"
Smiling, Jason looked at Bruce, his smile wavering slightly. He stepped towards his father. "B, I'm...I'm so - "
Bruce held up a hand. "No need. I understand what happened. I'm just happy to have my son back."
Jason teared up at that, blinking them back quickly. He looked away, glancing at the still unconscious Damian. He turned to Talia. "What are we going to do about him?"
Talia smiled. "Well, I was hoping you would help me with that." Furrowing his brow, Jason asked how he could help. "Since Damian's anger was caused by me sending him away to train you - and to protect him from the coming war in the Shadows - I figured it would be nice for him to get to know the real you. He has always been an only child - and a lonely one - so maybe having a big brother would help him. What do you say?"
Still looking at the face of the boy who almost made him kill their father, Jason made up his mind. "I...I almost let my rage consume me once. If I can help stop rage and darkness from consuming my little brother, than I will gladly help. After all, what is family for?"
Bruce walked up to Jason, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I am proud of you Jason."
Dick and Tim nodded as well. "We will miss you."
Jason snorted. "You guys act like I'm dying for a third time. I'm just going away for little awhile. I'll visit. Besides, if you need me, you know where to find me."
Talia approached Jason. "Come, let us collect our wayward Cheshire and return to our island. We have a lot to work on with Damian."
Nodding, Jason picked up Damian for Talia as they walked towards the exit of the cave. He paused, looking over his shoulder. "Hey, guys?"
"Yeah?" They replied, their faces holding a thousand unsaid words.
"I cannot thank you enough for not giving up on me...I love you."
"We love you too, Jay."
Jason, Talia, and Damian left the cave with that, the others watching them exit.
As Bruce stared after his two sons and his former lover, he felt sorrow and joy flood his system that his lost son had returned home.
fin.
We have reached the end of our journey. I am sorry it was such a short ride but I ran out of ideas for this story and felt as if I dragged it out it would of been even more lackluster.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed it and will check out my other works! thank you so much for reading this and I hope you have a great day/night!
