Aspen's P.O.V.

Pulling up to the Quest Mansion I slam my car door before walking up to the door and frantically began to ring the doorbell, it was opened a couple of minutes later and I came face to face with Nova. She saw how angry I was, not saying anything she opened the door wider, "The kids are outside with Talon." She whispered. 

Storming through the house I slammed open the back door catching everyone's attention Bear and Nyzie hid behind Talon's leg who was standing in front of the swing set with his arms crossed over his chest. 

"Nyzaia and Saber I will have a talk with the both of you once we get home." I seethed angrily, "Get out from behind him and inside the house."

"Mo-"

"Now!" I snapped at Nyzie she gasped taking a step back before running inside the house followed by Bear who kept his gaze on the floor. Nini followed the two scared of me. 

Glaring at Talon I storm up to him quickly before raising my hand slapping him with all the strength in my 5'3 body could muster. His face turned to the other side not expecting the blow, his cheek became red from where my hand hit him. "How dare you?" I said breathing heavily, "How fucking dare you?!"

Talon slowly looked back at me raising his hand to feel his cheek, defiance swirled in his eyes as he stared down at me. "I had told that stupid bitch not to send them with you then how dare you to switch them out like they are a piece of clothing? I don't care who the fuck you are, I don't care what the fuck you do but stay the fuck away from me and my family."

Clenching his jaw he began to breathe heavily, "All I did was take them out of school Nav-"

"Aspen!" I interrupted him, "My name is Aspen."

Graoning out of frustration he looked away from me, "Fine Aspen. All I did was take them out of school, you are overreacting."

"I am not overreacting!" I snapped, "I had not given you permission to take them out of school. Do you have any idea how scared I was when the two of them hadn't come out of school? I had thought something had happened to them, something bad. I wasn't welcome with their smiles like every day. For an hour Mylie and I stared at the door like idiots waiting for them while they are here with you. Didn't you think for once that you should let one of us know?"

"I tried doing that but you didn't let me."

"I don't want you to take my kids out of school Talon! I don't want anything to do with you. Why is that so hard to believe?" 

He didn't say anything, glaring at him I took a step closer to him, "This time I only slapped you, next time you take Nyzaia or Saber out of school with mine or Mylie's permission...you will have a court case against you."

"You can't be serious," Talon said quickly 

Letting out an emotionless chuckle, "Try me." 

I was about to walk away but he gripped my wrist pulling me back towards him, "Why is Nova allowed to pick them up then? If you hate me so much then why do you have Nova, Mom, and Dad have the third emergency contact after your parents and Mylah?"

Shaking his grip off I cross my arms over my chest, "I hate you not your family. They took care of me, helped take care of Nyzaia...I love them as my family...but I hate you."

He chuckled, "Great, good to know what you feel for me."

"I thought I made it pretty obvious a week ago but apparently it didn't get through your thick head."

"No it did, I just didn't want to believe it but now I do."

Letting out a big breath I walk away from him about to go inside I stop at the door turning around to face him again, "This is the last time I am going to say it Talon. I don't want you anywhere near my daughter again. Get that through your thick head too."

Storming inside the house I avoid everyone's gaze grabbing Saber and Nyzaia's arms roughly I pull them out of the Mansion and into the car. Mylie quietly sat in the car beside me. "Take it easy on them Penny." Taking a deep breath in I looked back at them as they stared down at the floor of the car. "Please."

"Just give me some time Mylie. I am not mad at them, the person I was mad at got the signal. Hopefully, I won't have to deal with him for a while now."

"Mommy..." I heard Nyzie whisper to me, "I-I mean we-we are sorry."

Bear grabbed her hand, "It was my idea, Penny, I really wanted to go with Nini...I am sorry. Please don't be mad at Nyzie."

"Stop covering for each other Bear," Mylie said firmly, "We will talk at home."

The rest of the ride home was filled with silence in the car with Bear and Nyzie occasionally whispering to one another. 

Sighing I got out of the car helping the kids out as Mylah grabbed their stuff, we entered the house, it was quiet since Mom and Dad were gone out of town for a convention in Colorado. 

Siting both of them down we both stand in front of them, "Who wants to go first?" Mylah asked as I stared down at them. 

Saber looked up, "I will...It was lunchtime and Nini had mentioned that she was leaving early today because Talon had some sort of surprise planned for her in the backyard. Apparently, he felt guilty for missing out on her growing up so he built the cool setup you saw...I really wanted to go there and play but I didn't want to leave Nyzie alone at school either."

Raising my eyebrow at him I continued to listen, "So I went to her class and brought her out telling the teacher that you have come to pick her up but what I didn't know was that Ms.Rhea was going to call you and ask for permission."

"But we said no, then how did you two get off of school grounds Bear?"

"Um...we snuck out from the back doors. Talon had asked us to do that since he saw how sad we were that we couldn't leave with them. Nyzie seriously didn't want to leave without permission. This is totally my fault." Saber admitted, "I'm sorry."

Nyzie grabbed Bear's hand gently playing with his fingers, "Please don't be mad Mommy. I had told Uncle Bear we shouldn't leave...but it's okay now we're safe."

My anger had actually faded away in the car, it wasn't their fault, they were just kids. Walking over I sat down in between them as Mylah had gone into the kitchen to grab some snacks. Pulling them in for a hug I said, "I am sorry too. I'm not mad anymore but you two have to promise me that you will never give me a heart attack like that again okay? Do you two have any idea what kind of thoughts were floating around in my mind when we didn't see you two running out of school? Please...please don't do that again."

Bear and Nyzie hugged me, "We promise."
