Nyzaia's Room ^^

Aspen's P.O.V.

"Penny! Come down dinners ready." Mom yelled from downstairs as I brushed Nyzie's hair out after her bath. 

"Coming Mom," I yelled back, quickly tying her braid off I kissed her on her forehead, "My beautiful little girl."

Nyzie smiled at me revealing her two missing teeth at the front causing me to let out a giggle. "Love you, Momma,"

"I love you too baby, now let's go eat, I'm starving."

"Me too," She agreed running off ahead of me as I quickly cleaned up the bathroom before heading downstairs.

"Smell's good mom, what did you make?" I ask sitting down beside Nyzie and Saber.

"Mom made Chicken Noodle Soup with sandwiches tonight," Saber said, "My favorite,"

"Mine too Uncle Bear." Nyzie pitched in causing him to chuckle, he gently placed a sandwich in front of her along with the soup.

"Be careful okay? The soup is really hot." She nodded. I loved watching them interact because even though Saber is just 6 years older he is the perfect Uncle, actually more like an older brother for her. I was always nervous about sending her to school but watching Saber's behavior towards her I trusted him to take care of her. 

"Did you hear the news sweetie?" Dad asked Mylie and I

"What news?" Mylie said taking a bite out of her sandwich

"Talon Quest is in town." He said gently nudging my mom. Talon and my mom had always gotten along perfectly she treated him like a son she never had. Saber came a lot later because of Medical reasons so Talon had also been like her son. 

My smile vanished from my face, looking down at my food I played with my soup. Everyone knew what had happened but it seems like they have forgiven him after so many years. 

"Penny...You're okay right?"

Looking up at Mom I gave her a light reassuring smile, "I'm fine Mom."

"Wait, Papa did you just say Talon Quest?" Nyzie asked. Oh no, here we go with the Talon Quest frenzies. 

Dad chuckled, "Yes I did."

"Is he really here?!"

Mylie smiled at her, "Yes Nyzie, Talon Quest is really here and lucky for you," She pointed at her poking her nose, "Your mom and I are planning his event. So you might meet him."

Glaring at Mylie I shook my head, "The event will be late at night, Nyzie you will not be coming along-"

"Mom please?" She pouted.

"Nyzie I said no." 

Pushing her food away she sat crossing her arms over her chest, "Mommy, please? You're not being fair."

"Nyzaia eat your food or you going on a time out."

"No!" She said stubbornly, "Not until-"

"Nyzaia!" I said sternly, "You have five seconds."

"Mom!"

Clenching my jaw I put my hand up, "5"

"You're not listening!"

"4"

"Mom, please! I just want to go-"

"3"

Her eyes filled with tears, "Mom."

"2" I continued

"I wish Dad was here." She huffed before jumping off of the chair and ran up to her room before I could say anything.

Pushing my plate forward as well I sigh putting my head in my hands, "Aspen, she didn't mean it." Mylah whispered, "She's young to understand."

"Mylie's right Penny," Mom said, "Eat your food she'll be fine soon."

"No," I whispered as a tear fell out of my eyes, "I overreacted. I had a bad day at the office... with everything going on and now he's back. I just didn't like the idea of her meeting him but I forgot that she's a little girl in the process. I'm a horrible mother."

Dad sighed as he got up to comfort me, he pulled me into a hug, "Penny you have to let go of that anger you have stored against Talon. It's been ten years baby. And as for what just happened you are not a horrible mother...you are an amazing mother Penny...Nyzie is young, don't worry."

Mom followed behind Dad, then came Mylie, then Saber, "Everything will be okay sis," Saber whispered, "You're the best."

A chuckle escaped from my mouth through my tears, "Thanks Bear."

Mom kissed my cheek, "You'll be okay sweetie, Rhett is proud looking down at the both of you okay? It's been three years since he passed but you have done an amazing job, honey."

"Now go get my grandaughter back at the dinner table, remember what I said okay?" I will never forget what Talon did, and I am not going to forgive him. 

Standing up I wipe my tears away, "I'll be back soon. 

Making my way up to her room I knock on the door, "Nyzie?" She didn't answer, "Baby? You in there?"

"I'm doing my timeout, Mommy," She said irritated. A smile made its way onto my face, her attitude was exactly like mine. 

Opening the door I went inside, "I thought my baby was mad at me." She was sitting on her bed staring at the wall, at the picture actually where it was the three of us. She, Rhett, and I. 

Pushing my tears back I sat down beside her "I miss him too you know..." I whispered to her, "I miss your dad just as much as you do Nyzie."

She looked at me with tears in her eyes, "You do?"

Wiping her tears away I pull her onto my lap, "More than you know."

"Where is he mommy? Why hasn't Daddy come back home?"

Taking a big breath I look over to the window and bring her along with me, "Baby I'm going to tell you something very important right now okay?"

"Okay?"

"Do you see that moon over there?"

"Yeah..."

"Your daddy...your daddy is right beside that moon, do you see that tiny star beside it?"

"Mommy...how can daddy be beside the moon?"

"He's watching over us baby, daddy had to go because some bad people had hurt him, and those bad people are getting punished right now. But daddy he had to leave us to become a star beside the moon, to watch over us."

I could see the little wheels turn in her mind, "Does that mean daddy isn't going to come back, mommy?"

Wiping my tears away I shook my head, "I'm afraid not baby but he hasn't left you, he's right there in your heart, but whenever you miss him just look up at the sky and talk to him. That's what I do."

Snuggling up close to me she stared up at the dark sky, "You do?"

"Mhm."

"Mommy?"

"Yeah Nyzie?"

"You're the best mommy in the world." 

I smiled staring up at the moon and began to imagine  Rhett looking down at us, "And you're the best daughter in the world."

"I'm hungry," Nyzie whispered,

"I thought you would be," Mylie said coming into the room with both of our plates, "That's why I brought your food up here."

Nyzie smiled jumping out of my lap and grabbing the tray out of her hands, "Thank you, Auntie Mylie."

Chuckling Mylie sat down beside me, "Everything okay?" She whispered in my ear, 

"I told her about Rhett," I whispered back, "She cried for a little while, but it was the perfect moment..."

"Good job Penny,"

Letting out a soft chuckle I leaned against her, "Thank you."

One problem down, now to face the other problem tommorow. . .Talon Quest.
