Aspen's P.O.V.

For the past couple of days getting in and out of the house was disastrous the media was always outside of our house waiting for one of us today, Dad and Mom had come home yesterday and were very disturbed by the press so Mylie and I had to tell them everything. I hadn't been in contact with anyone from the Quest family at all. I wasn't in the mood to talk to them, I understood that what had been said had nothing to do with them...but Talon's words had hurt a lot.

"Nyzie come down for dinner baby!" I yelled from the kitchen as everyone began to sit down around the table. She was upstairs cleaning her room after I gave her a nice bath. 

"Coming!" She said running down the stairs before jumping into her chair beside Bear, 

Sighing I placed her plate in front of her before digging into my food also,

"How long do you think the media is going to stay outside of our house?" Dad asked taking a bit of his food and there goes my appetite.

I shrug forcing a bite down my throat, Mylie sighs, "Actually Nova called today, Jax wants us to talk to the media, to get them off our backs. H-He has invited us over to their house to talk about the details of the statement along with Talon's statement."

Looking over at Mylie I shake my head, "I am not talking to the media, they will leave-"

"Penny..."Mom said, "It's almost been a week honey. The media is not going to leave without talking to you. Just please go sort this out so your dad and I can have a good night's sleep without having to hear the screaming media all night."

Dad nodded grabbing my hand, "Please."

Taking my hand out of his I nodd, "Fine, let Nova know we'll be there tomorrow. Mom, could you please watch the kids."

"For sure Honey."

Finishing off dinner I took Nyzie up to her room since we had dinner really late tonight, I was busy doing some work for Mr.Fox since I had to return to work tomorrow. "Can you sleep with me tonight Mommy? The strange people outside scare me at night."

"Yeah baby," Grabbing some stuff from my room I walk back to Nyzie's room only to see her talking to the moon.

"Hey Daddy, I miss you a lot today." She whispered, "Mommy says she misses you too, we both do. I didn't go to school today because there are a bunch of strange people standing outside of our house...Sorry, I haven't talked to you in a while I just got distracted. Daddy... I don't like Talon Quest anymore. He called me a mistake."

She still remembered hiding behind the door a little more, "But mommy said I wasn't a mistake she said that I was a gift, the best gift that you gave her! I don't like him at all. I love you, Daddy."

Wiping my tears away I walk inside her room and sit beside her looking up at the moon, "What are you two talking about?" I said staring up at the moon, "Daddy and Daughter time huh?"

Nyzie looked up at me smiling, "Secrets Mommy,"

"Not fair, you two always hide stuff from me."

Giggling she cuddled into me more, "Not fair Rhett, even after being so far away our daughter still loves you more than me. I see how it is."

Nyzie giggled, "But it's okay because I love you a lot too and Miss you a lot too. We both do. I had promised you before you left that I would protect our daughter the best I could, but lately, I feel like I haven't been doing the best job...at all. Talon Quest is back...he has said some things that I will never forgive him for."

Nyzie cuddles against me closing her eyes, "I am trying to be a good mother, Rhett, I am trying to not let her miss you that much but she needs you, Rhett, I need you right now. Tomorrow I have to go talk to him to protect Nyzaia. Please...help me through the meeting."

Looking down at my sweet little baby she had fallen asleep in my lap gently caressing her cheek I lightly kissed her head before laying her down in the bed as I stayed awake looking out of the window and thinking about what the hell was going to happen tomorrow.

The Next Morning 

Pulling up to the Quest Mansion with Mylie I take a deep breath in, I really didn't want to come here but for the sake of my family, I needed to do something about the annoying ass media outside of my house. 

Entering the house everyone was sitting in a circle as if they were ready to interrogate both of us. Aunt Rosey, Uncle Clay, Nova, Jax, Nina, and...Talon. 

"Penny, Mylie come sit," Aunt Rosey said patting the spot next to her not looking over at Talon I sat down keeping my gaze away from him. Mad...Hurt..Anxious I don't know.

"Where are Saber and Nyzaia Penny?" Nini asked 

"Um...Nyzie didn't want to come over and Saber stayed back with her." Mylie said smiling at Nini, "But don't worry as soon as we are done here I will take you along with me."

Nini nodded before running off into her room. "Nyzie...why didn't she want to come?" Jax asked

Glaring at him, "I think you know very well why she doesn't want to come." I said, "Anyways we are here to talk about the statement not to talk about my daughter."

Jax sighed before slipping a piece of paper over to me picking it up I read over it.

Talon Quest and I have sorted things out in private. He and I had a small disagreement that had escalated out of hand but everything has been taken care of. Please leave my premises I have no comment after this.

"And this is Talon's statement."

The video was blown out of proportion. Aspen Flynn and I have been friends since we were kids but grew apart after I left Atlanta. There was a small disagreement it is all sorted out now. The child that was seen in the video was Aspen's daughter, please leave them alone. I request all the hate and all the media to leave the two alone. I am open to questions only after the hate stops between the two. Thank you. 

"This all looks good." I said standing up, "When should we say this?"

"When you go home. I thought it would go away without attention  but it doesn't look like it will." Talon said

Clenching my jaw I looked at him, he looked horrible, with bags underneath his eyes, his hair was messy, but why? Did he feel bad? No, he didn't have any emotions to feel bad. Grabbing my stuff I look over at Nini's room, "Nini! Come on we are about to leave. Nyzie and Bear will be excited you decided to come."

"Coming Penny," Nini rushed down the stairs with her overnight bag in her hand,

Looking over at Aunt Rosey, "I will drop her off at school along with Bear and Nyzie if you could pick them up after school though that would be great. I have to work extra long today since I had to take a week off."

Aunt Rosey gave me a gentle smile, "For sure Honey,"

"Thank you, come on let's go," I said Mylie nodded grabbing her stuff and holding on to Nini's hand. 

"Wait Aspen," Talon whispered I wanted to keep on walking but my feet stopped in their place. Not turning around I kept a straight face, ignoring the call I continued to walk away, away from him.  "Aspen!" He said a little louder continuing to speed walk away I basically pushed Mylie and Nini inside the car but before I could get in he slammed the driver's side door shut as soon as I opened it. 

Turning me around roughly he basically caged me in against the car, "Stop...I just need a minute."

Pushing myself further in the car creating some space between us I look up in his eyes, "I don't have a minute. Nyzie is probably waiting for me to come back home and I have a bunch of work to catch up on and-"

Groaning out of frustration he covered my mouth with his hand, "What I did yesterday...it wasn't.."

Shoving him away from me I glared at him, "I don't want to hear it. This is something you do all the time, sorry did all the time. You would hurt me, then apologize, then hurt me again. I am not the same Aspen anymore Talon. I am a single mother who has millions of other things to do than think about what you said because of you Nyzaia thought she was a mistake. She cried for hours asking me if you said was true or not." Talon looked away from me, "You have done and said a lot of things that I can't forgive you for no matter HOW many times you say sorry. So don't even bother with it." I snapped before getting into my car and driving away from him as fast as I could. 

Maybe I would have forgiven him if it was about me, but not when it comes to Nyzaia.
