James Ford- Reading (c)
Entertainment on the island was limited. Luckily several people had packed books in their suitcases which allowed people to have something to do but other than that, it was making up entertainment. You were an avid reader so was rather pleased by the choice of books, even if it was limited, as it meant you could distract yourself from being stuck on a deserted island with a group of strangers whom you were now becoming friends with.
Although you'd made your way through all the books that were offered, you were making your way through them again. You had perched yourself under a tree on the edge of the beach, allowing you shade and the ability to focus on your reading better. Focusing on the book did become a problem though. Most people on the island had the common decency to let you read, only interrupting if they needed you. Sawyer didn't understand common decency.
Even if it was a little bit of surprise, Sawyer enjoyed reading too, but a little less surprisingly he preferred to annoy you. He got a kick out of annoying anyone he could; you were his current target. Taking a seat next to you in the sand, he placed his hand behind you, a little too close to your bottom, leaning in close to your ear so that you could feel his breath against your ear lobe.
"What're you reading, beautiful?" He smirked.
You moved the book, trying to keep reading, but allowing him to see the cover so that you didn't have to speak to him- hoping he would leave quicker. There was no luck.
"One of the better books on the island, but I can think of something a little better for us to be doing," he grinned leaning in closer.
"And what would that be?" You sighed, knowing it would probably be something not very PG.
"Once we find somewhere private, I can show you."
"What a charmer?" Your eyes rolled as you spoke.
It would be a lie to say that Sawyer wasn't an attractive man; he was highly attractive, however his personality certainly let him down. He spent a majority of his time flirting with the females of the island, generally jumping between you and Kate, but did let his affections spread to anyone else he decided to try to get a chance with.
"I know I am," he grinned.
You let out another large sigh. "Oh, I wish I were off this island."
Constantly you did wish you were somewhere else and not stuck on the island in the middle of nowhere, but Sawyer's passes did help you cling onto those wishes.
"Every moment you spend wishing you were someplace else is a moment you can't get back," he said in a matter-of-fact tone.
Looking up from the book in your hands, you cocked an eyebrow at him. "What about every moment I wish you were someplace else?"
He held a hand to his heart, screwing his face up as though he was pained by what you had said.
"You have wounded me," he gasped holding his chest.
"Too bad it wasn't fatal."
