Charlie Pace- Reunion (c)

"Charlie?" You called out trying to manoeuvre across the sand.

The man turned towards you, looking confused but equally happy. You were terrified, but glad to see a familiar face.

You had been flying from Sydney to LA, going to visit family after having holidayed in Sydney, before heading back to London in a few weeks' time. However, it didn't seem like that plan was going to go completely well. The plane had crashed, leaving you and a fair number of the other passengers abandoned on a deserted island without much hope to get home. Having travelled alone, you didn't know anyone on there, however now everyone having cleared the plane and attempting to adapt to spending time on the island, you did recognise one of the men.

"Y/N?" Charlie responded, heading towards you to help close the distance.

"What are you doing here?"

He shrugged his shoulders. "You know, always hang out here."

You rolled your eyes at his terrible joke. It had been years since you had seen Charlie, and although you didn't end on the best of terms, you had missed him a lot.

"I meant, why were you in Sydney and heading to LA," you elaborated.

"Oh, visiting Liam, he lives out there now, and going to LA for a Drive Shaft reunion tour," he stated.

"How is Liam?" You asked.

"He's good. Married, got a little girl, Megan," he said. "He's happy."

You smiled fondly. When you had known Liam, he was a mess of a man who was attempting to tidy up his act but failing. You were glad that he had turned his life around and was doing well for himself.

"That's really good. How have you been?"

"Alright."

"I'm sorry for how things ended," you offered.

Years ago, you and Charlie had been in love, happier than anything. However, things didn't stay happy for long. His brother had turned to heroin, encouraging Charlie to do it too, being in the band together. His drug addiction was what drove you apart. He refused to try and get clean and you weren't going to hang around when he didn't care enough about himself or you to try and clean up his act.

"I don't blame you," he stated. "I'm still not clean but who knows how long we'll be here. I guess I'm going to have to get clean whether I want to or not."
