Benjamin Linus- Safety (c)
When rumours had started flying that other people were living on the island along with those whom had crashed in the plane, you had assumed everyone had gone mad. It was a creepy island, it seemed as though things weren't quite right, but all the unknown had seemed to get to people's head. At least that is what you believed until you had come face to face with the others on the island. You were making your way to get more fresh water from the caves, when you were attacked by someone and woke up in a building, a building that you had no knowledge of on the island.
You had been there for quite a while, meaning you had gotten to know the people of this community. You were to stay within the home of a man named Ben, who lived with his daughter Alex. Alex was nice, she cared for you, Ben kept you alive, but he was far more interested in finding out about the people you had previously lived with. He wasn't overly pleasant, but he hadn't hurt you.
Your restraints had been removed but you had tried everyway to escape, but there wasn't a way. The door was only ever unlocked when Ben was home, and he kept a close eye on you.
Today was different to the normal schedule. It wasn't unusual to hear gunfire, but it was far louder and more aggressive than usual. Alex peered out the window, only to look shocked and terrified.
"Dad!" She shouted.
Ben ran to her to also look. From your place in the lounge you could see unfamiliar people approaching, killing people you had become familiar with since you had been there.
"Alex, come on," he demanded gesturing for her to go towards their escape route.
You on the other hand saw it as your one attempt to gain freedom. You ran towards the front door, fleeing from the building. Rather than running through the murder spree that was occurring you found a place to hide. One of the armed men, walked past you, not seeing you and making their way into Ben's home. You heard Alex scream, making your blood run cold.
It was a fight of conscience, but you followed him into the building. You knew a gun was hidden behind the sofa, so you grabbed it and made your way towards the screams of the girl you would consider your friend. Not wanting to hesitate and lead to Alex being injured you fired the gun, knocking the man to the floor, his blood creating a pool around him.
"Are you okay?" You asked, your heart pumping relentlessly.
"Thank you," Alex smiled weakly. "Thank you so much."
"Why did you save us?" Ben asked.
"I don't know. Alex, are you okay?" You questioned.
She shook her head, an expression of pain on her face.
"She hurt her ankle when we ran," Ben stated.
"Come on," you whispered. "Let's get to somewhere safe."
You walked over to Alex, helping Ben assist her in walking not wanting to let her put any weight on the painful ankle.
"Why are you helping us?" Ben asked.
"It's not for you."
