Nya's P.O.V.:

I couldn't believe my own brother didn't remember who I was. He had basically raised me after our parents disappeared, and he didn't even know who he was. And I just watched him throw a fireball at his best friend, someone who was like a little brother to him. It was like he was a whole different person now.

We thought about going home, but we had to take care of Lloyd first. He was unconscious and looked like he was in pretty bad shape. He had a big burn mark on the front of his suit and who knows what was underneath it. Kira and Zane were tending to him.

"How is he?" Cole asked Zane and Kira.

"The good news is his vitals appear to be stable and he should wake up shortly." Zane said.

"And the bad news?" Jay asked, holding my hand.

"The impact may have broken a rib or two and possibly caused a small concussion. He'll be in pain for a while." Kira sighed.

"Can you help him?" Skylor asked Kira.

"I might if we can get him up to my treehouse." Kira answered.

"I'll take him." Cole said gently picking Lloyd up.

"And once Lloyd is back on his feet, I'm sure we can all come up with a plan to get Kai back. Right Nya?" Jay smiled at me.

"Right." I weakly nodded.

I usually appreciate Jay's optimism, but I wasn't really in the mood for it at the moment. I just couldn't stand the thought of my brother working with Clouse. Who knows what his plan is?

"My treehouse isn't that big, so maybe it's best if we split up." Kira suggested. "Zane, Cole and I will care for Lloyd, while Jay, Nya and Skylor can go back to the monastery and see if Pixal can help you figure out a plan."

"Good idea." Jay said. He formed his dragon and then held out his hand. "Care for a ride?" He had that goofy smile on his face.

"Alright." I grabbed his hand and hopped on the back of his dragon.

Skylor formed hers and followed us to the monastery. I wouldn't admit it to Jay, but it was probably best I wasn't the one doing the flying. After seeing my brother torch my friend and almost punch me in the face, my mind was all over the place. Plus I was still sleep deprived from last night so I was really tired.

When he was holding me against that tree, I saw that look in his eyes. If Lloyd hadn't distracted him, he definitely would've gone through with it. My own brother was going to punch me, and I just couldn't believe it.

"How do you think Lloyd's doing?" Jay asked.

"He's tough, he'll be fine." I said.

Lloyd's P.O.V.:

I woke up in Kira's treehouse with Kira, Zane and Cole. I set up and my ribs hurt and I had a headache.

"Easy Lloyd." Kira said helping me sit up. "How are you feeling?"

"I can't believe he attacked me." I frowned.

"I would guess that Kai's recent accident has caused him to receive brain damage which is causing his amnesia." Zane said.

"And Clouse planted the wrong ideas in his head." Cole said.

"Where are Jay, Nya and Skylor?" I realized.

"They went to the monastery so they can get started on a plan." Cole told me. "We brought you here to make sure you were ok."

"How are you feeling now?" Kira asked.

"Well my sides hurt, but I feel alright." I said. "Thanks for looking out for me guys."

"Any time." Kira smiled and handed me a few ice packs. "Here, these should help."

"Thank you." I said.

I held the ice packs on my sides and I hissed. It kinda hurt at first, but then it felt better. I tried to get up but Kira set me back down.

"Easy Lloyd, we want to help Kai too, but you need to rest right now." She said.

"I'm fine." I said. "Let's get back to the monastery. I have a plan."

I got up and made my way to the door. I put my hand up about to form my dragon, but Cole pushed it down.

"No way buddy. You're riding with me." Cole insisted.

"And I can ride with Zane, if that's alright with you?" Kira looked at Zane.

"Of course." Zane agreed.

"Ok." I sighed.

It was a little embarrassing to me to just sit in back of anyone's dragon, especially in front of my crush, but I was hurt and didn't have the energy so I guess I didn't have a choice.

We flew to the monastery and went inside with Jay, Nya and Skylor. We were all talking about a plan to help Kai.

"I don't want to hurt him." Nya said.

"We don't either, Kai is our friend, but we need to help him remember that he's ours too." Cole said.

"Nya, did Kai say anything to you that might give us a clue about what Clouse did to him?" I asked.

"He did but it was weird." Nya answered. "He thought that his name was Phoenix and he thought that we were the evil ones and that we were trying to attack him."

"It seems Clouse is taking advantage of your brother's recent amnesia by convincing him that we are the enemy." Zane said.

"At least if he knows he's the good guy, he won't try to hurt anyone." Kira said.

"But he's still going to fight us." Nya sighed.

"Then we need to show him that we're the good guys too." I said.

"Ok, but Clouse isn't going to let us get close to him and Kai thinks he's his master so he's going to protect him." Cole reminded us.

"And if we come close to proving it, then Clouse would just come up with more lies." Skylor said.

"I think I have a way to work around that." I smiled.

"What's you're plan Lloyd?" Cole asked.

"You'll see." I said as I tried to stand up, but my ribs were hurting again and Kira stopped me.

"Sorry Lloyd, but you're sitting this one out." Kira said. "Your ribs are still in bad shape."

"I think Kira's right." Nya agreed.

"But then who's gonna help Kai?" I asked.

"You can tell us your plan and we'll play it out down there." Cole said.

"Alright." I sighed.

"I'll stay here and look after him." Kira offered.

"Thanks Kira." Nya said.

"Ok guys, here's what you need to do..."

Kai's P.O.V.:

Me and Clouse were walking in Ninjago City. All the people were looking at us funny, like there was something strange about seeing Clouse and me walking together. It was like they were afraid of us.

As we walked, I started to question what became of the guy I hit. If I really am the good guy, then why did Clouse tell me to take a shot? It didn't make sense to me. I know that they're the bad guys, but I shouldn't be wanting to hurt anyone, especially if they weren't trying to hurt me.

As we were walking I saw a few thieves. They were trying to steal a lady's purse. I was about to jump in to help, but my master grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"No Master, you have not fully recovered from your accident and must save your strength." Clouse said. "The spell I used to heal you will wear off soon."

"But she's in trouble." I said, noticing the women was now on the ground.

"Let the police handle the little stuff, you need to be prepared for the bigger crimes."

I continued watching the scene unfold. I couldn't fight this feeling that I was supposed to help. I ignored what Clouse had said and I walked up to the scene, but that was when someone walked up behind me and threw a sack on top of me. Everything went dark and I passed out...

I woke up and looked around. I tried to move but I was tied to a chair with ropes. I tried to use my powers to get out, but they weren't working. I was also exhausted and hurting everywhere. I think that meant Clouse's spell was starting to wear off.

"Oh good, you're awake."

I looked up to see a red haired girl looking at me. I had seen her before with the other ninja, but Clouse never told me about her.

"Whatever secrets you're looking for, I won't give them away." I said. Not that I remember any of them anyway.

"Relax, we're not going to hurt you." She said.

"Then why did you bring me here?"

"This is the monastery, home to the ninja. We know you probably have a lot of questions, but we're just trying to help."

"Did I... did I kill your friend?" I remembered.

"You mean Lloyd?" She asked and I nodded. "Oh don't worry about him. He's gonna be out of commission for a while, but he'll be ok."

"Tell him I said I'm sorry."

"I'm sure he'll appreciate that." She said.

"Why did you tie me up?" I asked.

"We needed a chance to explain things and we needed to make sure you weren't going to attack us." She explained.

"What do you mean explain things? My master told me everything."

"What exactly did he tell you?"

"That the ninja were bad people and that you scumbags leave a trail destruction wherever you go." I snarled. "You even managed to turn my own sister to the wrong side. And worst of all, you killed my parents."

"And do you believe everything your master tells you?" She crossed her arms.

"Why shouldn't I?"

"Because he doesn't know everything." She said. "We'll be happy to show you proof if you give us a chance."

"Does that mean you'll untie me? Because I'm in a lot of pain right now."

"Fine, but here's the deal. You don't hurt us, and we won't hurt you. Understand?" She said.

"Understood." I agreed.

"Great, now come with me. We can have a friend of ours take a look at your injuries." She said. "The name is Skylor by the way."

She untied the ropes behind me and I could barely move my arm or my leg. Clouse's spell wasn't going to last much longer, and if I couldn't move, I couldn't escape. I just hoped Clouse had a plan to break me out of here.

Just then a girl with a green bandana in her hair walked into the room. She was carrying a first aid kit with her.

"Hi, I'm Kira and I'm here to help." The girl introduced herself. "Can you stand up?"

I tried, but I couldn't. My leg hurt too much. I looked up her and shook my head. She started to touch my leg.

"Ow! Hey that hurts!" I yelled.

"Sorry, I was just trying to see where it was broken." Kira apologized. "I'll be sure to warn you next time. Does anything else hurt?"

"My arm." I said.

"Ok, let me see."

It took about an hour but she wrapped my leg and put my arm in a sling. Then she went to the kitchen and brought me back some tea. I was skeptical about it.

"What is this?" I asked.

"It's just healing tea, it'll help you." Kira said.

"How do I know you didn't poison it?" I scowled at her.

"Why would we treat your injuries and then poison you?" Kira crossed her arms.

"Fair point." I said.

I reluctantly drank the tea. It was actually pretty good, but I still didn't trust these ninja.

"How do you feel now?" Kira asked.

"Better I guess." I said.

"Follow me to the courtyard please." Skylor said.

I got up, surprisingly able to walk, and followed her as she asked. I still didn't trust them one bit, but for now I was gonna play their games.

Kira's P.O.V.:

I was about to go check on Lloyd when Jay and Cole came into the room. They seemed tired and roughed up, covered in scratches and bruises. Jay was holding his wrist and Cole was limping.

"Jay? Cole? What happened to you two?" I asked them.

"Clouse. He got away." Jay huffed.

"I'm sorry we couldn't hold him back any longer." Cole frowned. "We think he retreated back into the forest, so we have a little time to regroup."

"Are you guys alright?" I asked.

"We'll be fine." Cole said. "How's Kai?"

"He was in pretty bad shape, but he'll be ok." I answered. "He still doesn't remember a thing, but we got him to cooperate with us so I'm sure he'll come around."

Cole and Jay took a seat on the chairs in the room. They looked relieved to finally sit down. I handed my first aid kit to them so they could fix themselves up

"Is Lloyd any better?" Jay asked.

"I was just about to go check on him, but if you guys need help first..."

"No thanks Kira, we can take care of ourselves." Cole said picking up my first aid kit.

"Have you heard from Nya?" Jay asked.

"Last I heard she was taking a nap." I told him.

"Good, she needed rest." Jay said.

"How's your arm Jay?" Cole asked as he noticed he was holding it.

"It's just sore, I'm alright." He replied. "How's your ankle?"

"I'm fine, just twisted it I think." He took the bandages out of the kit.

"I have some time, I could take a look if you want." I offered again.

"No thanks Kira, I think we'll be ok." Jay said.

"Kira?" A voice came from behind me.

I turned around to see Lloyd limping into the room holding his sides in pain. I immediately ran to him and helped him stand up.

"Lloyd what are you doing out of bed?" I said.

"I wanted to see if Kai was ok." He frowned.

"His leg is broken and his arm is hurt, but he'll be fine." I told him.

"What happened to you guys?" He looked at Cole and Jay.

"Clouse happened." Jay said as he finished wrapping his arm.

"Don't worry, we'll be fine." Cole said elevating his ankle.

"He got away?" Lloyd looked worried.

"We're just lucky we did." Jay said and Cole nodded.

"If we have Kai here, he'll be coming back for him." Lloyd stated. "And we need to be ready for him."
