Nya's P.O.V.:

I was with Zane in my room trying my best to keep my distance from Kai. I so desperately wanted to see him, but we didn't want anything to set him off, and seeing me definitely would. I was worried about Jay and Cole too. I knew they were fighting Clouse on their own and I didn't know if they were back yet.

"Are you sure I can't go out there just a little while? I have to see if Jay and Cole are ok." I begged Zane.

"I'm sorry, but until Kai is comfortable with seeing you it is not safe to go out there." He said.

"But..."

I was interrupted by a knock on the door. Zane opened it and Jay walked in holding a PB and J sandwich.

"Hey Nya, I thought you might be hungry." Jay said handing me the plate.

"That's so sweet. Thank you." I gave him a kiss on the cheek and he blushed. I noticed his wrist was wrapped in bandages. "What happened?"

"Oh I just got a little roughed up when we fought Clouse. It feels better now though." He said.

"What about Cole, Lloyd and my brother?"

"Cole twisted his ankle but he should be alright. Lloyd is in a lot of pain but he's going to be fine." Jay answered. "Kai was injured pretty bad but Kira said he'll recover."

"That's a relief." I took a breath. "Let me look at your wrist."

"Thanks but I'm alrigh... Ow!" He screamed as I touched his wrist.

"Jay let me see." Zane insisted.

Jay sat down next to Zane and let him X-ray his wrist. I held his other hand to be there for him.

"It looks like you just sprained it." Zane said. "Don't worry, I have just the thing."

Zane used his powers to create a cold mist and aimed at Jay's wrist. I could tell by the look on his face it was working.

"Feeling better?" I asked.

"Yeah, thanks Zane." Jay smiled.

"Of course." Zane nodded.

"I wish there was a way to jog Kai's memory." I frowned.

"Well you've known Kai longer than any of us." Jay said to me. "Maybe you could share some memories with him."

"Jay that's a great idea." I exclaimed. "Unfortunately Kai and I grew up without our parents most of our lives, so we don't have any photo albums or pictures of us that he would remember."

"What about your parents? I'm sure they have stories about you two." Zane said.

"No, my parents and I aren't very close. I'm sure I can handle this on my own."

"They're close to Kai right? Reaching out to them might be the best thing for him." Jay said.

"If it comes to that I will, but I'm gonna try it myself first. I have plenty of stories I can tell him." I said. "But how am I going to do that when I can't even talk to him?"

"You will be able to soon, we just have to give him some time to calm down." Zane said.

"I know." I sighed. "It just seems like he despises me."

"We know Clouse lied to him about his name and about us, maybe he told him something about you too." Jay suggested.

"Maybe, I just wish there was a way I could prove him wrong." I frowned.

"Relax Nya, your brother will come back to us." Jay said.

"I hope so." I hugged him.

Lloyd's P.O.V.:

I was sitting at the top of the staircase in front of the courtyard doors, looking out for any signs of Clouse. I knew that since we had Kai here and Clouse got away, he would be back. Hopefully if we worked hard enough, we could get him to turn to our side, but the question was, how do we do that?

"Oh there you are." I heard Kira's voice behind me. "I've been looking all over for you."

"Oh sorry, I was just trying to watch out for Clouse. I have a feeling he'll be back for Kai." I said.

"Well you should be in bed resting." Kira said.

"I'm feeling better, plus this way I can look out for Clouse and stay off my feet." I said.

"Alright." She sat down next to me.

"How is Kai doing?"

"He's got some pretty bad injuries but he'll be ok. He still can't remember much but he's willing to cooperate with us."

"That's good news I guess. Where is he now?"

"He's with Skylor taking a tour of the monastery." Kira said.

"Has he seen Nya yet?"

"No but she sure is eager to see him. I hope it goes well."

"Yeah me too." I frowned as my sides started to hurt again.

I tried not to let Kira see me holding my sides, but she always knew when I was in pain. She was the granddaughter of the elemental master of healing, and while she didn't inherit the power itself, she could always tell when people were hurt. Her grandmother was also a nurse and taught Kira everything she knew about it.

Kira's father was one of my mother's friends. His name was Dr. Yost, an archeologist who he went into Prime Evils Eye to map the area and never came back. After that her mother left her to be raised by her grandmother while she went to look for him, but her mother never came back either. She's been all alone since her grandmother passed away, but at least she has us now.

"Why don't we take a break? Are you hungry?" Kira asked.

"Yeah but what if Clouse shows up?"

"Then you'll need to be at your best." Kira smiled.

"Ok I guess a snack wouldn't hurt." I agreed.

Kira helped me to my feet and she walked me inside to the kitchen. She sat me down at the table and started to make us some sandwiches. As she was doing so, Skylor and Kai walked into the kitchen. He caught a glimpse of me and his eyes widened. We kept staring at each other.

"Oh hey, how are you doing?" Kira asked him, interrupting our unplanned staring contest.

"My leg still hurts, but it's doing better." Kai answered.

"I was just showing him around the monastery." Skylor said. "Is this jogging your memory at all?"

"Why would it? I've never been here before." Kai shrugged.

"Yes you have Kai! You spent most of your life here. Why can't you remember?" I blurted out.

"What? Who's Kai?" Kai said confused.

"Lloyd, I know your eager to get him back to normal, but it's best to ease him into this before anyone does something they might regret." Kira whispered to me.

"Yeah, I guess." I sighed.

"So I don't understand. When does all the evil planning start?" Kai asked.

"Evil planning? What do you mean?" Skylor asked.

"Well my master said that you were the bad guys." Kai said.

"Well we're not, he is. He lied to you." I said bluntly.

"Lloyd!" Kira yelled.

"What he means is, while we are on opposite sides with Clouse, we would never do anything to harm another person." Skylor said.

"Then why do attack Ninjago?" Kai asked.

"We don't attack it, we protect it." I said.

"Maybe he was wrong about you guys?" Kai questioned.

"Come with me, there's one more person I'd like you to meet." Skylor said to Kai.

Kai followed Skylor out of the room. I looked at Kira.

"Do you think he'll remember?" I asked.

"He will Lloyd, just give him some time." She smiled.

"We don't have time. It's only a matter of time until Clouse realizes where Kai is, and once he does he'll be back for him."

"Or what if we could buy him some time?" Kira said.

"What do you mean?"

"If we dress someone else up as Kai, Clouse would kidnap them instead. Then by the time he realizes he's got the wrong ninja..."

"Then Kai will remember everything! That's genius! Why didn't I think of that?"

"It's ok, you've been busy."

"We need to tell the others."

Nya's P.O.V.:

I was waiting in my bedroom and the door opened. I saw Skylor and my brother enter the room. I was so happy to see him, but he didn't seem to return the feeling.

"Kai!"

I ran to him and gave him the biggest hug. He looked confused and slightly angry, so I backed off.

"Nya?" He looked at me.

"You remember me?" I asked.

"No, but Clouse told me about you. How you chose the wrong side." He frowned.

"It's not the wrong side, just a different side." I smiled. "We're still the good guys, but we do things differently than you do." I said.

"Really?" He asked and I nodded. "Then why did you kill our parents?"

"Killed them? Who told you that? Our parents live in a blacksmith's shop on the edge of Ignacia." I said.

"You mean they're... alive?"

"Of course. And I can prove it. Hold on a sec."

I ran to the living and looked through the mail. I found the letter from Mom and Dad with the date on the front. I grabbed it and ran back to my bedroom.

"Look, this is a letter from our mom and dad. This arrived yesterday and the date on it was two days ago. See?" I pointed to the date on it.

Kai picked up the envelope and stared at it. It took almost a full two minutes until he finally said something.

"How do I know you didn't write this? How do I know this isn't some trick?" He glared at me.

"Because your my brother and I wouldn't do that to you." I said.

"I still don't know if I a believe you." He frowned.

"Ok you know what, I didn't want it to come to this, but you leave me no choice." I took a deep breath. "Skylor, get the bounty ready and set a course for Four Weapons Blacksmith shop."

"You got it." She nodded and ran out of the room.

"What's a bounty?" He asked.

"It's easier if I just show you." I smiled.

I took him outside to the backyard and showed him the Destiny's Bounty. He was amazed by it.

"Wow. That's a big pirate ship." He said.

"Climb aboard." I said.

I helped him onto the ladder and he joined us. My parents and I aren't really that close so I was nervous about seeing them again, but if this was going to save my brother, then it was the only way.

Lloyd's P.O.V.:

Kira and I were meeting with our friends and telling them about Kira's plan. They all agreed to it, but now we had to decide who would be the one to go.

"I want to stay here with Nya." Jay said. "She's going through a lot right now."

"I should do it." Zane said. "With my cloaking technology, I am the most logical choice."

"I don't think any of us can mimic Kai's fire powers. He'll know." Cole said.

"It doesn't have to last long, just long enough for Kai to regain his memories." Kira said.

"No guys, it should be me." I said. "I'm the leader and I can't put any of you in danger."

"Lloyd you need to recover from what happened." Kira frowned. "I don't think it's a good idea for you to go."

"I have to Kira. The others have known Kai longer, they'll have a better chance of turning him back into his own self." I told her.

"Ok." Kira sighed. "Just be careful ok?"

"I will, I promise." I gave her a hug.

"Here Lloyd, use this." Pixal gave me a microchip to put on the back of my neck. "It will disguise your appearance and your voice so you look just like Kai, but I haven't finished the waterproofing yet so don't get it wet."

"Awesome. Thanks Pixal." I smiled.

That night we put our plan into motion. I put on Kai's old suit and used the tech that Pixal gave me and went for a walk down the stairs of the monastery. I ran into Clouse and he ran up to me.

"Phoenix!" He shouted. "What happened to you? Did they hurt you?"

"Yes." I answered.

I was surprised to hear Kai's voice come out of my mouth, but as long as Clouse was falling for it that was all that mattered.

"They should be punished!" Clouse said angrily.

"No, I finally got them all to fall asleep. If we wake them now, they'll just attack us back." I told him. "I just wanna go home."

"Ok Phoenix. This way." He agreed.

I followed Clouse back to his vehicle and he took me back to Hiroshi's Labyrinth. Hopefully Kai finds his identity soon because I just wanted things to go back to normal. Until then, I had to do whatever I could to keep the team and Kira safe.
