Part 2; Chapter 1 - Going Home
=Sabre's POV=
I checked myself out in the mirror, glad to finally be out of that horrible jumpsuit Nightmare Steve had put me in. Elemental Steve was kind enough to get me some new clothes, and I was very grateful.
I now had a brand new striped t-shirt and a pair of white jeans, Elemental Steve also taking the liberty to sew me a replica of my old green and white varsity jacket. I smiled at myself, pulling the hood up. It was a new addition, but I liked it. I also had new grey shoes!
I grabbed the new black bandana from the table and tied it on under my hood, fluffing out my hair. I had washed it and cut it, and wow, I felt so clean and alive now!
I walked down the hall and knocked on the door to the guest room. "Oh Rainbow Steeeeve~!" I called in a sing-song voice. Rainbow Steve opened the door, smiling. "Hi Sabre!"
Rainbow Steve had gotten some new clothes too. He wore a light blue sweater that had a rainbow stripe going across the front and around the sleeves and back, and he wore black leggings.
I ruffled his soft hair, which was even softer now due to his shower, causing my smaller friend to giggle. "Up!" He said, reaching his arms up. I grabbed him and lifted him up. "You exited to go back to the others?" I asked. Rainbow Steve shrugged. "ehh.."
"Yah, me neither." I said. "But we have to, otherwise we'll never get a new home." Rainbow Steve and I have been planning to create a new Rainbow Town, a bigger, better, and more populated one.
Rainbow Steve shrugged. "Good point." He said. I smiled. "Anyways, you ready to go?" I asked. He nodded happily. "Remember to put on your shoes, Elemental Steve told us to meet him at the center of the In-Between." I told him, setting him down.
"Oh, yah! I almost forgot about those!" Rainbow Steve exclaimed, running over to grab his new boots. I laughed, taking his hand in mine after he pulled them on. We walked into the portal hall. Rainbow Steve stared at the glass chambers.
"So Nightmare Steve's out there again, huh?" He mumbled. I nodded. "Yah. don't worry, I'm scared too." "I think that's a reason to worry, Sabre." We laughed a bit.
We reached the portal to the In-Between's center and hopped through, being greeted with Elemental Steve. "Hello, my children." Elemental Steve smiled softly at us.
"We're not kids-" "I know, I know, but it's a force of habit and you two are much younger than me!" Elemental Steve interrupted Rainbow Steve. My small friend and I laughed. "Sorry, sorry." Rainbow Steve apologised jokingly.
"Either way, Elemental Steve," I started, "Thank you so much for being so kind to us! If you ever need us to help you out with anything, please contact us! We'll be glad to try to return the favor."
Elemental Steve nodded. "Thank you for the offer, Sabre. In fact, I do need help on something.. or someone, rather.
"Oh?" Rainbow Steve wondered aloud. "What's wrong?"
"For generations, before even Rainbow Steve was created, I have had a horrible enemy, even more powerful than Nightmare Steve." Elemental Steve warned. Rainbow Steve and I gulped. "U-Uhm.. Do we have to fight and defeat them..?" I asked nervously.
"You may have to fight them, yes, but defeating them shall be my job." Rainbow Steve and I breathed a sigh of relief. "Seriously?" Elemental Steve scolded.
"Sorry, Sorry!" I defended. "Just that even in our glory days we were barely even able to lay a scratch on Nightmare Steve." Rainbow Steve nodded in agreement.
Elemental Steve sighed, rubbing his temples. "Either way, I've packed some spare clothes for you in case those get ruined, alright?" He said, snapping his fingers. Two bags appeared in front of us.
"Thank you!" We exclaimed happily, grabbing our respective bags. Elemental Steve sighed, smiling down at us. "Now get out, I'm tired of you two." Elemental Steve joked, snapping his fingers. Rainbow Steve and I shreiked as we fell through the portal below us.
=Elemental Steve's POV=
As soon as they left, I frowned. The two were nuciances, but I couldn't help but to want to care for them.
I shook my head. "No, Elemental Steve, you're only using them. They aren't your friends, and no where near being family." I scolded myself.
Family... I wish I had family... but no. That is not what is in store for me. Time Steve was the only one I had.. But our seperate views got the best of us. Maybe.. maybe I won't defeat him...
"NO, ELEMENTAL STEVE!!" I shouted, scolding myself again. "Follow through with the plan... His plan..."
