Part 2; Chaper 2 - A Warm Welcome and Continued Rambling

(I FORGOT TO UPDATE YESTERDAY FRICK

Also I like it when people comment on my chapters. It gives me serotonin.

Do it)

=Rainbow Steve's POV=

Blue- err- Sabre and I appeared in the Overworld once again. I blinked, my eyes adjusting to the bright sun in the sky. Sabre grabbed my hand and stared walking with me. I glanced around the landscape, recognizing it as the area that Sabre and his weird friends had made camp before we were kidnapped.

I looked ahead, seeing a house. It didn't seem too big, but then again, it wasn't that small. I blinked as my eyes finally decided to adjust, only to see a tall, starry Steve running directly at us.

I bit my lip and turned to run, but Sabre and I were both tackled to the ground in a large bear-hug. Oh goodness, I hate this guy already. At least Sabre was laughing.

"GET OFF ME, YOU BIG DUMB OAF!!!" I shreiked, prying myself out of the starry Steve's death grip. He backed off. "Sorry, sorry!" He apologised.

"Come on, Rainbow Steve," Sabre grabbed my hand, "he's just happy to see us, be nicer to him, okay?" I pouted, glaring at him. He pat me on the head and stood up. I huffed and dusted myself off.

"Now apologise to him." Sabre ordered. "What-" "I'm sorry!" The starry Steve interrupted. "No, no, not you, I'm telling Rainbow Steve to apologise." Sabre stated.

I huffed. "Fiiiiine.. I'm sorry for yelling at you, starry Steve.." I crossed my arms and stuck out a pouty lip, looking the other way. I felt Sabre's hand on my head, patting me as if I were some dog. I slapped his hand away. "Don't do that!" I shouted.

"Oh, my name's Galaxy Steve, not starry Steve!" The starry Steve explained. "Whatever." I huffed.

"Geez, what's with you today?" Sabre asked, playfully pulling me into a side-hug. "You were all happy earlier and now you're all cranky, man."

I rolled my eyes. "I don't like him!" I pointed at Galaxy Steve. "What? Why? What'd I do?" He asked, clearly confused. He had a stupid look on his face. "Rainbow Steve, if you can't say anything nice to our new friend, then don't say anything, okay?" Sabre poked my cheek, releasing me from his hold.

I stuck out my tounge and walked off, going to put my bag away in the house. I liked it better in the In-Between.

=Galaxy Steve's POV=

"What's with that guy?" I asked, who I was pretty sure of, was Sabre. He shrugged. "Dunno, he was awfully happy this morning.." He responded. "Maybe it's a mood swing! Or maybe he's just hungry. It happens to me all the time." I explained.

Sabre turned to me. "Yah.. Anyways, you said your name was Galaxy Steve, right? I'm Sabre." Yes!! I was right!! "Yah! Nice to finally meet you Sabre!" I shook his hand. I was glad to have another new friend. People these days in other dimensions weren't so nice to me.

"That other guy was Rainbow Steve. I'm sure you won't see much of his bad side. As you said, maybe he's just hungry." Sabre mentioned. I nodded in understanding. "Shark, Moose, and Nathan miss you a lot! We've gone on search parties to find you guys!" I told him as we began to walk back to the house.

"R-really..? Oh.." Sabre mumbled. He looked guilty as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry about that..."

"Oh, It's no problem!" I spoke up. "Nathan and Moose actually found out that you guys were staying in this place called the In-Between about a week ago!"

"They were there!?" Sabre exclaimed, looking surprised. "Yep!" I nodded. Sabre looked away. "Those two never fail to amaze me, whether it's through stupidity or what." He grumbled.

"Anyways," I perked up, "we're at the new house now! Tadaa!" I did jazz-hands. Sabre smiled at me and went inside. "Oo! I'll give you a tour!" I said happily. "Let's go to my favorite place first, the kitchen!"

Sabre laughed and followed me into the kitchen, where Shark and Rainbow Steve were talking to eachother, eating bread. Right before entering the room, I had heard them mention Sabre's name, but I don't think Sabre was paying attention.

=Sabre's POV=

I was paying attention.

My eyes were wide under my bandana, catching every detail and small movement, reading body language. My ears were open and alert, and I definitely heard Shark and Rainbow Steve say something about me. I tried to listen in, but they had stopped talking temporarily. I hope it was a good thing.

The smell of baked bread filled my nose, and my mouth watered. I grabbed a baguette from the bread basket, taking a bite as Galaxy Steve rambled on about food. I stared out the window, soon getting lost in thought.

Who exactly is this 'Time Steve' guy? I'm sure his powers have something to do with time, from what his name suggests. Why is he evil? What are his motives? What does he have against Elemental Steve?

Come to think of it, the elements take up space... time and space.. Those are contradicting dimension-wise, yet they work perfectly together. Could that mean that Elemental Steve and Time Steve are related? What if they're family? Brothers? Twins??

I understand sibling rivalries, but why would one turn evil? Was Time Steve power-hungry? Did Elemental Steve make him mad? Is he under control? Wait, who's to say Elemental Steve isn't really the bad guy and he was just bribing us with kindness this entire time!?

What if Time Steve is fighting Elemental Steve because Elemental Steve was the real one to go off the deep end!? What if we're helping out the wrong guy!? What if Elemental Steve is being controlled by something higher up and working with Nightmare Steve, and that's why he let him go instead of sending him out of the timeline!

Wait, how does he have the ability to do that? Wouldn't that be Time Steve's ability? What if Elemental Steve just stole Time Steve's powers and Time Steve is just trying to get them back!?

I slammed my hands on the counter, snapping myself back into reality. I looked up, my blindfolded eyes meeting the shocked, confused, and amused faces of Shark, Galaxy Steve, and Rainbow Steve.

"Uhh.. You done?" Rainbow Steve raised an eyebrow.

"D-Did I say all of that out l-loud..?" I stumbled over my words. Rainbow Steve nodded. "You overthink too much, Sabre, go take a nap." He joked, putting some fingers in front of his mouth to hide his amused smile as he leaned back in the chair.

I nodded. "Yah.. I'll do that. Sorry." I mumbled, walking to the couch in the livingroom.

"Does he do that often..?" Shark asked. "Dunno, I haven't known this side of him long enough." Rainbow Steve responded. "I think he needs a sandwich. Those always calm me down." Galaxy Steve put in.

I laid down and sighed, listening to their conversation as I drifted off. I wondered about my assumptions.

What if I was right..?
